I upgraded to the note from infuse and I always install Mr number. Well for some reason play store thinks it does not work with note. I had to get black market just to download and install it. Works fine for me in case anyone is looking to use it.

Well there is a catch. To enable the lookup of mobile phones you need to share your contacts with the mr number database for others to search against. At least that's the way it was, I am unsure if it has changed

Phishing
Sounds more or less like a data / number mining scheme to me, I don't think the majority of my contacts would want me to share their cell numbers with a company. Land lines (except unpublished) are pretty much a given anyway. But to share cell numbers with a company? I bet debt collectors use this route to find peoples cell numbers to harass them.

You can get it from there website , they are dealing with google pulling it from the play store. They wont tell the reason , but i installed it and not a few hours later i started getting hang up calls which ive never had before from random numbers. Its a popular app but i dont trust it.
Well that would be a problem but the app also allows u to report spam to block calls with single tap. With my phone being my business phone I like the control of blocking suspected spam without answering. Also when first time callers call and I need to save their number the name and info already there just one tap and saves me time. And time is money.

Hey guys!
So I love my Nexus 10... but I don't know what to do with it!
I watch videos and read pdfs on it, but these two don't really take up much time.
I wanna use my Nexus for more things but I don't know what!
What do you guys do on your Nexus 10?
First world problems... why did you buy your Nexus 10 anyway?
Start shifting your PC tasks over to it. Web browsing for one. This forum, for that matter. A Bluetooth keyboard and mouse and you'll be surprised at how much productivity you can get out of it.

I use it for almost anything, as I got rid of my laptop so all I have now is my N10 and my cellphones. Movies, music, shopping, messaging, reading up on stuff, and prett heavy on emails and evernote my work needs, skyping. So yeah pretty much everthing I would do on my laptop.

But then you have to change your number to a GV number, and doing that would be problematic for me. Am I right in thinking this?
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app
Change what number? Your tablet isn't a phone. It links to your GMail account, and you can create a new phone number that can ring your devices on making a new account. If you mean texting people with your actual phone number then yea that might be an issue, as it shows on their phone as your GV number.
Wouldn't it use a new phone number for the texts?

I literally lol'ed when I found out that my N10 couldn't run Xbox SmartGlass and a couple of other things (yes I know I can sideload the apk). That's just silly that out of the box, my phone can do **** that my tablet can't, despite it being a larger screen, newer OS, and Google supported. Goofy.

I've been challenging and being challenged to Wrestle Jump literally everyday and starting to use my phone for that more than anything else. It just works so well on this screen and the game play is so simple that literally anyone and try it and dominate.
This kinda lead me to wonder what other people are going to as their main app that they use everyday. Maybe not so much addicted to, but just your one app that you go to for entertainment each day.

I use SiriusXM on my phone every day. The on demand service is pretty darn good. I am totally addicted to it and would be very pissed off if I didn't have it. :highfive:
My addition is SanGuoSha (HD). this is based on Chinese story "Three Kingdoms" and it has the capability of playing both online or offline. It has great AI strategy when you play with the phone and the graphics etc are top notch!
Being in NYC, you don't have cell coverage quite often, in this self-claimed best city of the world. Especially in the subways, yet we still call other countries or cities (Shang Hai) emerging market, when infrastructure like cell signal and data there is literally everywhere. Anyways, when no signal, SanGuoSha is very fun game to have.
sorry for the cynical comments, that is uncalled for.

That's really it. I'm kind of a one pump chump on apps. I download tons and only end up using them once or twice, get bored, delete, rinse and repeat.
The only game I find myself often playing, and always have installed is Zen Pinball with about 12 purchased tables for variety. However, I definitely suggest Spirit XHD, superb with the S-Pen, and Super Hexagon. The latter is extremely difficult but very addicting and super simple to play.

One thing I have noticed is that my phone seems to be spying on my activities.
My phone knows where I work and when I work and get off. It tells me my commute time and etc. One time it told me when/where my girlfriend works when I was taking her on the regular. I checked National games for the sake of metro and its the phone has started to give me MLB game times and scores. I had a time when my phone gave me an alert to attend a cookout from my car insurance company. It had emailed me this weeks in advanced. I also get advertisements for games I have looked at that pop up.
Is the Android/Google taking it too far by monitoring your activities?

I don't really get what the problem is. It isn't like it's harming you, if anything, it is making your life easier.
Google goes through tons of security and they've even said that the only thing that sees the information is their algorithms. I mean, when's the last time you've heard about Google being hacked?
But like WolfePack said, you can always disable it.

aside from google now if you're getting pop up advertisements for games, or notifications that advertise things, it's because you have a ****ty adware app that you need to block or uninstall.

As many of you may already have heard, the new Google Maps update integrates the blue triangle navigation app into Google maps. These seems fine, until you realize whatever navigation they are using is not the same as before. It isn't birds eye view anymore. It's come crap apple like not turn by turn thing. No longer any options for avoiding highways and tollway, no more customization, and I can't find the so called multi route thing they supposedly added. Google navigation was practically flawless, why did they kill it off? Somebody please tell me

My guess is that they are preparing to release a paid navigation app that has all of the bells and whistles of the previous version. There is no other plausible reason for this.

My mohter is technologically challenged and she is very upset about this. You know how long it took her to learn Google Nav? LONG! Both her and my stepdad where like "where is the blue triangle thingie" and I was like what do you mean, and oh surprise it was gone. They are the ones who brought to my attention as I have not been using GPS lately.

Scout is a good one, I prefer Waze over Google nav anyways.. Waze is a social navigation which gives you updated information on traffic conditions by monitoring other users. And you get turn by turn, along with warnings about traffic hazards (including police and speed traps)

A lot of the functionality is still there, including the bird's eye view...it's just hidden 4 or 5 steps deep. The big problem is that it's not at all intuitive like the separate Navigation app was. So tech challenged folks can easily get sidetracked by something as simple as getting it to start navigating. It's kind of like when Microsoft decided to start updating MS Office. They tried so hard to make it more "MAC" like that none of the controls made any sense, not just in the naming of the tool or the icons, but also where they were located. Office 2003 to Office 2007 was just stupid. This is what Google did with their navigation app, trying to make it more iphone like.
So what's next? How about a separate paid app that makes navigation simple to use? That could be the direction that they are going. Either that, or they just hired the wrong designers.... probably ex Apple employees
