[Q] BT icon replaced by battery state icon - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Any registry specialist out there?
After a necessary hard reset to get co0kie's 2.0 running
properly, I had to reinstall a number of programs too.
After everything was installed and working properly I recognized that the bluetooth icon (top screen left side of WIFI icon) was replaced by a second battery state icon.
As this second battery icon is working correctly (full to low, all icons displayed correctly) it seems to be not a question of icons, but of task defined for this location.
Any hint where I might look into the registry to overcome this problem manually is highly appreciated.
Does anybody know where to find a "description of all reg keys"?

Battery indicator in the top taskbar

I've been doing some cooking of my own using dcd's 3.0.4, but since I started customizing my own, the battery icon in the top right taskbar was replaced with the clock. I liked having the battery there, as I don't need two clocks on the home screen . Now, i've done a lot of reading on this, and I found that if you use a registry editor and go to the following:
HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Shell and change the ShowTitleBarClock to 0, it replaces the clock with the battery icon.
So, I did that, and if i'm on the today screen it shows the battery in the top right, but if I open ANY other window (Programs, Settings, or any program) it switches back to the clock. If I switch back to the today screen, the battery icon is back.
How do I go about getting rid of the clock and replacing it with the battery when I have other windows/programs open?
Thanks,
Iam pretty sure there is no way to be able to see battery icon from any window. Look into vista hide battery-- its like color line running on top of your bar and u can see it no matter what window u use at the moment.
try :
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\TBOpt = 0 (DWORD decimal
Try going to Settings>System>Clocks&Alarms>More and unchecking the box to Display the clock on title bar in all programs.
You can always go into the sys/dcd folder in the kitchen and edit the RGU to stop it from doing that too..... Line 96 as the key you want to change.....
Thanks guys. I have also been looking for this info.

DST reverts to Standard time after reboot

I've been searching for a solution to this problem for a while, but it seems like I'm the only one who this is happening to. Since the DST change earlier this month, my Touch Pro won't stay on DST after a re-boot. After syncing it with my computer (I have all the DST updates and stuff from MS), it goes to DST. I've let it wait for the network to fix it, I have an active sync with Google's exchange server, but it only goes to DST after a physical sync with my computer.
The even weirder thing is, while both the clocks in the TouchFlo interface and the clock in the WM6.1 settings dialog display the wrong time (i.e. after a re-boot), PocketShield displays the CORRECT time on the lock screen. This is really odd, since I thought the time in PocketShield was based on the WM clock. The only other application I can think of that uses the clock is G-alarm... but other users have reported that their DST issues were not related to G-alarm.
there is an issue it has to do with your carrier not your phone I had the same issue. go into your setting for the clock and turn off the auto update on startup. That will fix your problem. it is probably just the tower near you having the issue. I had the same issue. I have found references to other types of phones having it to. Strange but true.
Are you running TF3D2? if you are, NEVER tap the clock in it - there is a DST bug in it.
ALWAYS use the "Settings / System / Clock & Alarms" program to adjust your time.
Always apply WMDST2008-1.CAB and WMDST2008-2.CAB files to your PHONE. A lot of Cooks seem to leave them out.
Always switch OFF the "Automatic change time zone and clock" option in Phone / Time Zones.
yeah, I'm having this same problem. However, mine changes to an hour forward about 30 mintues after I change it back, doesn't require a reboot of the device. I can't figure it out.
Mine is okay on the Today screen, but the clock icon is off an hour, must be a DST bug, though what is odd, my clock icon in the top bar is a old style hand clock and not actual time numbers, not sure when it changed, if it was an app I installed or some setting I screwed without realizing.
I will look into the suggestions above.
Thank you
David
If you launch the phone dialer/Dialpad, Menu/Options/Services. Scroll through the services choices, and you will find and option for time synchronization. Make sure the settings for this is set to Time synchronize with the mobile network.
As long as the network is set to DST, so should the devices clock.
At least I know that this is the case with my TP on Sprint.

[Q] Softkey Bar Background has Disappeared :(

Hello Guys,
I am currently using the Miri WM 6.5.X 23152 with Sense 2.5 V26.0 Rom for my HD2 and after installing Cookies Home tab & the editor, everything worked great, and almost still does
My problem is when I was playing around with the options for changing the wallpapers (of which is a set of custom options after installing the cookie home tab), I came across the 'Skin Taskbar and Softkeybar' option. Not knowing what the 'Taskbar' or 'Softkey bar' was, I foolishly decided to skin it to see what happened.
After the phone had reset, I noticed that the top bar (the taskbar) had skinned perfectly, however, the bottom bar (the Softkey bar) had turned black.
If you are familiar with this cooked rom from Miri, you would know that the softkey bar is the same design (or close to) as the tab bar for the main sense UI.
Now everytime I try to remove any skin from the softkey bar, whether this is from the wallpaper option 'Skin Taskbar and Softkeybar', 'Skin Only Softkeybar' or both, the bar remains black.
Is there a way to get the original Miri Softkey bar design back (perhaps a re-tweak in the registry with the default file location of Bars background image? If there is a registry value for it).
Rik.
Anybody?

[Q] A way to list apps which have an icon at right of taskbar?

Hi,
Is there a way to list/know which application or service has put an icon in the right of the taskbar, with Froyo?
I've installed two apps related to network speed; then I realized I had a new icon at the right of my taskbar, so I uninstalled both apps... the "new" icon is still there!
So I'd like to know which app or service exactly owns this icon. It's a small cellphone with a wavy line at each side, and it appears at the right of the "wifi" icon.
Thanks for any help!
N.B.: My Galaxy Tab P1010 is rooted but has the stock ROM.
Edit : I just found the answer, it appears to be the icon for the "silent mode", which I had turned on by accident - and never had "on" before.
