Hey guys, just a quick question for everyone, i recall that i had the 2.1 global firmware, and i charged my X10 a couple of times when its off and it showed a battery with a lightining bolt indicating that its charging, now for some reason after i put on the X10a generic firmware i try it again it doesnt do it anymore, it turns itself on like usual, can anyone confirm that its only the global firmware that does it or is there any other firmware that does the same?

I put on the Generic x10a (aka LAM Brazil) and I have the SE battery with lightning bolt. I have to turn the phone OFF prior to connecting it, else the phone is on.
I also find that even when in this state, if connected to a computer, the ROM and the internal memory show up in the computer's removable hardware listing. AND it doesn't charge properly.
I have a generic world firmware, and if the phone is off when I charge it, it will show battery with lightning bolt in the screen and will not turn on...

hi
i bought X10 today and first thing i did is upgrade its android OS
and after up-gradation same thing started happening to my cell also...
did u find any fix or cure for this problem???
and one more thing after up-gradation main menu got slower!!!
i thought upgrade was to improve the cell !!!
What IF the screen flicker happens when I accidently bricked my phone. I still cannot find any solution. I've flashed my phone so many times now and none of them are working. Just right after I turn on my phone, the backlight is on and i can see the screen flickers. haihz
happened to me to after i used the flashtool to flash 2.1 global generic.
i kinda got over it but i'd like to know why.
the flash worked perfectly. and so did the flash of my current 2.2.1 freex10 rom .
so i have no idea whats going on.
My phone was running z's rom 2.2 for x10 when I took it out of my pocket and the screen was black. The blue lights turned on but not the screen. When I turned off the phone, it wouldn't turn back on.
The computer won't recognize it for flash tool or se fix software or battery won't charge if I hook it up to the charger. what do I do? I have never had this issue before. help would be awesome.
thanks. is it bricked?
Solution sort of: I took my phone in to ATT service center and they said my phone and battery weren't working. So I got a new phone for free. (THANK GOD) Xperia x10 refurbished. So I got to mod it all over again. lol. They couldn't tell me what I did wrong or anything. So I guess I have a solution. So whoever has an issue like me, lets just hope your phone isn't dead like mine The other sad thing was they didn't have a battery for me so they are sending me one through the mail. by tomorrow. one day shipping yess!!!! Thanks for all those who put in helpful ideas. Doing some serious phone pimping pretty soon once I get my battery.
Can you boot into xRecovery?
I have a similar issue here.
I am using the CM6.1.3 custom ROM on my phone (Android 2.2). It ran out of battery(for its first time) this afternoon so I charged it and tried to turn it back on but it wouldn't. It just starts up until the Sony Ericsson logo and just fades out and a white light will turn on at the notification lamp for a while and then reboot again. I tried the Sony Ericsson update service to reinstall the software but I changed the firmware and baseband so it doesn't work and it doesn't seem to be able to boot into xRecovery either. What can I do? Help/advice appreciated!
Problem might be with the faulty offline charging.so your battery's flat.I believe there is a fix for the problem, you might need to borrow a battery, install the fix(check the Rom main page) then you should be good to go :
You could also flash a clean rom using the flashtool version 1.3 I think

can you teach me how to flash a clean rom using the flashtool? i already have the flashtool but i dont really know how to use it
thanks
Look in the development section as there are detailed descriptions on this already, but I can say not to worry as it's impossible to brick this phone, it can always be returned to stock. It's the only good thing about not having a cracked bootloader, we cannot be bricked

My girlfriends all original at&t 1.6 x10 all of a sudden decided it would charge when it wanted to, then the other day just crapped out completely. It kept randomly rebooting so yesterday I restored it using the update service and it seemed fine for about 12 hours.
Today it crapped out again and started rebooting, basically it did the same thing.
I've been screwing around with it using different batteries, and sim/memory cards and I kept getting the same results until I accidentally turned on airplane mode.
Its been up and running in airplane mode for a couple hours without a problem. When I turn off airplane mode, it starts having problems again.
Now what to do?

It might be an app that you recently installed that is causing this problem.
to be safe, i would recommend you to go to the sony ericsson's support website, download the update service software and flash your phone to stock again.

There is not 2.1 on AT&T. They are still running 1.6
so any other advice? im kinda in a bad spot here and dont have the scratch for a new phone
update: just installed generic 2.1 & crossing my fingers
If it is not a software issue flash back to 1.6 and use warranty or insurance. My phone would overheat nad get stuck in bootloops.
update: still crapping out randomly.
im starting to think maybe its not the software or firmware
same issue here, random reboot with official firmwares, if I can change my phone I'll do it as soon as possible, I will never took an SE device anymore.
hey i got my phone back today three sent me a recon... turned it on all was ok for 15 minutes then kept getting random reboots 2 mins or so after it being on, so i flashed generic fw as i thought it was a bad flash n then it wouldnt cum on at all just a vibration and a green flash when i turned it on, used seus and after 12 times of trying it installed the latest fw and now it only turns on with no sim card init put a sim init and it just reboots constantly, iv left it on charge because thats about as much as i can do now im guessing....any ideas?? or is it just a dodgy handset that needs replacing agaainm, cheers
If it came that way send it back. It doesn't sound firmware related if did all those things.
you can try install xrecovery and clean all.
After, you download a firmware to flash with the flash tool.
If this fails it is possible that your phone is broken.
try a different sim card, your carrier will have one to try if you don't have a friend to try his

I initially flashed my x10 from 2.1 to 2.3, it worked fine for about 3 months then it kept rebooting when i powered it on, thought it was something with the firmware so i re-flashed it back to 2.1. it is more stable now but when i am using a app/game or play music it freezes up and reboots. i'm using the latest flashtool .9.11 and firmware build- 2.1.A.0435 baseband 2.154
HELP!

i had this issue before & it was caused by a bad battery. it didn't matter which rom i was using. check with a different battery if you have a spare. good luck.

nope my phone isn't rooted, so i don't think its overclocked.
I have the same prob, same firmware you have, bt mine just reboots, even when plugd in, phone was kinda bricked, i managed to flash 2.1 using flashtool, then updated via pcompanion to 3, i still had the reboot/freeze up when i managed to get phone running again on 2.1 global, and i still have it with the upgrade. Is it nt maybe that the batteries cd be faulty? Or they cnt handle the power consumption requests that are required. Cd it be a failing part on the phones mobo? Charge block? Mine resets or freezes whether plugd into power socket, or laptop, mine is chargn though, bt 1 or two of my batrys go frm red to green charge in a few mins switchd on. Which cnt be ryt, so if it cd charge so fast i cn only think it wd lose power just as fast, or freeze or reboot, or there a fault on mobo. What are the hard reset btns?

I know this sounds odd and I thought it was a joke, but baking the main circuit board in the oven for 10min MAY correct system reboots.
Google "XPERIA X10 Oven" and take it from there.
There was/is a thread in X10 Q&A about doing this too.

Any1 could explain how does your phone get overclocked?

A soft click sounds like u refern to the vibrate, when the phone powers up, maybe your bat kaput? I cn already feel by the strength of the vibrate if it will boot or nt, its gta be a strong vibrate when powering up, although i still reboot. Bt phone bn getn longer uptime as i gain sum kinda ground i think.

You need to flash a new kernel, Try flashing the stock kernel for your O.S. Alot of issues can rise if the kernel is messed up. Being you havent unlocked your bootloader, Or even upgraded to a kernel that has a CWM or "Recovery" menu its going to be more difficult. But dont get me wrong, unlocking your bootloader isn't fun. But you might have to in order to finally fix your issues so that way you can get into more settings on your phone. Get back to me.
Good place for a new kernel? I have rooted and done my stuff with flashtool... eg unlocked bootloader but to this day I stilk have the restart issue. What shd it be clocked at and how do I find out if its for sa because no matter what sim a sim id never detected... but will scan sa networks and show those available... but I cnt use any of those networks as the ohone dont see a sim. It will ask me on inserting a sim locarion and then it says pkease restart and insert a simcard... what the...? Cd that be the cause if my restarts, I have four batteries. .. although they are old
