I was jw lol

Are you talking about the terminal app from within Android? Or a terminal app on a PC?
If the first, then no. You can't flash a ROM while a ROM is actively running.
If the second, it can be done via ADB, but I'd imagine if you can't use Odin, then ADB is really gonna be out of the question.

CWM without PC with root?

Hey guys,
I'm on holiday and I forgot my USB cable. I want to install a custom rom like Cognition and now I'm on XXKE2.
The problem is, I applied CFRoot (I think it was that one) but then I flashed the normal kernel back so there was no ! sign.
Question: Can I get CWM so I can flash Cognition without a PC but with root?
Thanxxx!
Try an app called darkyrom 2, from the market, it may let you flash a Cwm kernel and from there you can do nandroid backups and flash custom roms.
It may not work, but it's worth a try, the app let me flash a modem away from pc, im not on darkyrom but i do have a cwm kernel.

If you have a way to get the zImage of a kernel containing CWM onto your phone and you have root, you can flash that kernel with no problems.
First try getting the zImage onto your phone, like transfering if from your PC (as I read it you only forgot the USB cable) via WiFi.
Then install (if you don't have it already) a terminal app from the market.
Open a terminal session and enter:
Code:
su
dd if=/path/to/zImage of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p5 bs=4096
reboot
After that you're running whatever kernel was in that zImage.

no computer access.. lost root

my computer is dead and I don't know when ill have access to a computer next. was messing with my phone and ended up needing to go back to stock eb01 with out root. I thought there was a rom that had root access and su built in. but I can't remember. anyone know of anyway to gain root without computer access? thanks.

IIf you have any rom's on your sd like com rom, it contains root but you must have a non stock recovery to flash it with out a pc.
So if you have an aftermarket recovery you can just download a rom that contains root...most of them now a days do, just boot into recovery wipe everything and flash.
At that point you'll have root and you'll be operational until you can get to a pc to get you the rest of the way. If you don't have any rom on your sd just download it right from your phone..I recommend com rom 2.0 and then if your want the 2.1 patch...ths will get you root, the rom, otb kernel, and a very functional phone.

Recovery is over written by the stock kernel, odin is needed to flash stock vzw files, and recovery for the first time....you say you have com rom already...well just odin recovery (3/30 fix all, otb 3.x x, or times infinity 3 x.x x) any should work. Run odin and after its done immediately 3 finger boot into recovery then wipe data, cache, and dalvik, and flash com rom (it contains a kernel so recovery will be stuck and unless you need to go back to stock or screw something up you shouldn't need odin for a while)...reboot and you have a permanent recovery

Use an app like wifi file transfer. You don't need cables if you have a wireless router.
