[Q] how to set mp3 as ringtone in mozart??????? - 7 Mozart General

hi! i recently took ''mozart'' and i like it! but... i can t figure how to set my mp3 songs as a ringtone... (and other problems, but lets start from ringtones ). i hope someone can tell me. thank u!!

Hi,
This is a forum -therefore other people can see what you write. So please stop posting several question marks! It's no chat and you're not talking to your friends here, ok?
Regarding your question, you have currently got two options:
- use the default ringtones as custom ones aren't supported yet
- unlock your Mozart (which will void the warranty!) to sideload applications and use the custom ringtone manager. This allows you to use WMAs (not directly MP3s, but converting them should not be a problem ) as your ringtone
Best Regards,
FrozenLord

Sharon, to forward a msg, long press it and options will pop up.
Regarding the ringtones and notifications, create two folders on the SDcard called ringtones and notifications, drop the files you want to use in this, post a restart it should come up in Settings-> Sounds options
Cheers,
Vikram.
P.S. a lot of the capability is stock Android so it would make sense for you to search in general android forums for answers instead of searching specific to this phone ...
Thanks for the responce I have managed to work out how to forward.
So any types of these questions i should go to an Android forum?
Sorry am new to this phone...
Thanks in advance

Is there a sent box on this phone or does it just come up with the conversation window.

SMS are based on conversations like gMail have. Some time I hate it, but many times it is most better solution that I ever seen.
About question - I think that its fine. I had same problems But I just used google.

[Q] Flash and Wireless Questions

Hello xda-developer community,
I have multiple questions, so please forgive me, that i put them all in this Thread
Okay my first Questions would be:
Is there browser-flash intigrated?
Can i play Flash Videos from various sites with it, for example myvideo/break etc without a app?
Second Question is:
Can i use this mobile device without a Contract which has Wireless Plan?
Note: I'm using the Internet when I really need to, so i don't have a contract which covers Data, this means I cant let the Internet run 24/7.
Third Question is:
Does the Alarm Clock work, is there even one?
I'm truly sorry for my nuubishness, on every page i visited people said different thing, just need this to clear out everything i need to know.
Yours Truly

There is but its not perfect. Its called Uzard and you'll be able to find by searching xda, I think its in the themes and apps section.
If you want to view a lot of flash content then Id reccomend running an android build from your sd card. Its a lot better for flash.

You can, however.......... You will need to install a program to automatically disconnect the data connection after use. I would recommend "WM Long life" or "Touch Tools". You can find them over in themes and apps....
You might want to disable things like automatic weather updating and HTC Peep or at least set them to only update every now and then......

For me, no it doesnt. Not reliably anyway......
For 97.5% of people the alarm function works fine. There are other apps out there like "klaxon" or G-Alarm" if you need them.
Hope thats helped...........

[Q] OOdie Miui Custom Ringtone (Newbie user)

hello Xda users:
First of all, thanks for such an amazing and informative forum, its great just love it, and also thanks to all devs and specially to those working on MIUI its just way to beautyful and great.
now back to my post:
im new to all this about changing FWs and software to mobilephones, im a proud owner of a Xperia X10a and last weekend with a friend of mine installed OOdie MIUI wich i think is MIUI 2.1.20 version or at least that is what the "build number" says on the About info in my phone.
my issue is that i try to set a custom ringtone for my calls but does not work, tried with other MP3 and files but nothing seems to work. also when i try to listen to music the app keeps freezing and in the worst case scenario it power off my phone.
my question is, is there any newest version of MIUI? how can i know if mine is the lastest one? and finnally, is this an known issue? its there a fix for it?
everything else is just great but i would love to have a custom ringtone with me.
Thanks in advice i hope im not breaking any rules... (i searched with no luck)
PD: Any english Failureness its my fault, its not my primary Langage, im sorry.
ok. so i changed the song on the Theme settings and not in the System settings and seems to work just fine, at first didnt work with the file i left on the ringtone folder, but worked with some other i choose.

Importing basic phone Settings to different custom ROM?

Hello,
long time no post here^^
I just got myself an S3 and coming from an i8000 with Window Mobile I had a LOT to read and "study" these past few days^^ (I almost didn't touch a smartphone in 2 years too... long story)
After flashing a couple of ROMs and reinstalling my apps with Titanium Backup, I got a bit bored of having to revise all the Settings manually.
Is there a way to somehow save the many Settings and restore them on a new ROM? On WinMo it was easy to make a .reg file with all my favorite settings to apply on a new ROM but here I have no clue (as I also read it's not possible/good to backup system data from a ROM to a new one)
Any suggestion to at least make the process a bit easier? to at least preserve settings such as my preferred vibration strength, ringtone, screen timeout, font size, etc
Thanks! (and sorry in case I missed something obvious... I exposed myself to really a lot of new stuff in just 2 days and I am bit overwhelmed with searching new apps, ROMs and themes, learning about the OS and rooting, discovering the phone features and accessories/cases, etc)
Not possible at all?
There are multiple posts asking this question .
Use search as i have vowed not to reply to such questions if their is an R in the month .
jje
Would you care to provide me some keywords for my search? I tried something like "import settings to new rom" and the like but nothing relevant come up... just some references to Titanium Backup (as I wrote before in my post) or unanswered questions similar to mine or just about importing apps/contatcs/logs/etc
Thanks anyway
Anyone? the post above gave me some hope but I really can't find anything I wonder what I am doing wrong... usually I am not so dumb @[email protected]
One last try before giving up^^

[Q] Playing a song when booting android.

Hello forum,
First of all I'm not sure I'm posting this where I should.
I have searched the forum for the information I am looking for but no luck so far.
What I desire might not be easy, not sure if it's even possible:
I know that my girlfriend needs and wants a tablet(a simple one) , so I ordered a serioux visiontab s800 which will be shipped today.
I want to setup an app or if possible in another way, to play a certain song when booting the tablet. Or even after it has booted. I just want it to start playing a song all of a sudden
If this is possible , I might want to start working on it asap, since I will give the gift on Thursday.
Do you folks reckon that is possible?
Thanks,
Deletu

Here's the simpliest method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1539795
Just create a poweron.ogg file and put it in /system/etc (ROOT NEEDED)
if that didn't work:
I believe that you can , just find a timer program that works as soon as the mobile boots , here's how:
1-Search on google for a method of adding a startup program , "How to add Startup Programs Android", google is not working for me so sorry.
2-Search on youtube for "Android Developement Tutorial" by "thenewboston" , it is a series of 100 Episodes , when you reach Episode 20 , you'll have known how to create a music file that plays when the app is launched , so in your case , you'll add that music and make it play once the app is booted.
3-Make the App you created above play on startup.
4-You're good to go
Or you can make the music play on shutdown!
If I helped you please click on the thanks button.
EDIT:Found good threads on how to add startup programs:
http://www.ehow.com/how_12022095_add-startup-applications-android.html Just download startup manager and do that.
