Happy Holidays to all ,
I am only a month old in the Android world and fascinated (like a small child).
However, I have install the CyanogenMOD 6.1 on my newly bought Wildfire. I also installed the Googie application pack.
However, I still like the look look of the Original wildfire and the original applications which were provided by HTC.
So is there a way, I can have a Cyanogen 6.1 Rom with the original Wildfire them & applications? If there such a package I can install?
Thanks in Advance,
Doron.
why don't you just have stock Rom with a custom kernel like Jacobs? with that way you can have the HTC look and still overclock it. sry if this was an stupid answer but I think the look is the best with cyanogen (im newb with this so sry if I am wrong)

Htc apps won't work on cm6 because its an aosp rom. if you want the Htc sense look, go to the UOT kitchen and flash a custom framework. Its on xda, search for it. I forgot the actual website, on phone atm.
thanks guys,
It seems I have more to learn... I'll take it with me and try to implement both options...
Oh, I am going to have fun
Happy Holidays ,
Doron.

Hi,I'm kinda new at this ROM Cooking thing, but can someone teach me how to add HTC Friendstream and HTC Legend browser to HTC Hero Rom?
Id assume you find the relevant apks and put into the correct folders, no? But only on sense roms as the HTC libraries are needed aswel, cant just add the apks to Vanilla ROMs.
But I know JACK about rom building!

Correct!
You'll only be able to do it with a 2.1 Sense Rom just now, not any of the 2.2 Vanilla ones availale just now.
It sounds like you're using a vanilla version, in which case you could use LaucherPro and use those widgets which basically do the same thing
Thanx pal,.. oh yeah, Launcher Pro,... Google 'launcher pro plus' and take a look at the alt widgets they provide.
And next time,... please post in GENERAL or QnA. Thanx

I'm not using vanilla,I was trying to cook a ROM and I want to integrate the two features mention above...
2.1? Why don't you use Villain12 as a base?

dont think its possible, i've never seen it done anywhere before
hello
RCMix 2.2b has friendstream and Legend browser.
Boot time is excelent, I'm currently using it with flykernel 10a.
And it's faster than VR12, I was also using that for quite some time
Simply remove unnecessary things from RC2.2b and You are all set
hope this helps.
Cheers!
All I want to do is modify the framework to give me the percent battery and also change the notifications. Can I use the framework on the stock Rom to change that since I'm rooted or do I have to have a different Rom that's modified?

Try the question and answer section please!
Yes you can, just do a backup before you attempt the changes and backup the original Framework-res.apk somewhere.
By back up some may wanna say nandroid or nand but we are NOT running Amon Ra anymore so lets drop the Nand..... Its kind of a slap in the face to the folks at Clockwork. And who let us root???????
THANKS CWM TEAM!
Sorry normally would have put it in there but figured it would be better in the development forum...mods feel free to move since it would be better in there

I honestly think a sticky at the top of each forum for questions would make things easier for everyone to find and help the lazy. But the one in the development section was closed and they refereed everyone to Q and A. I wasnt trying to be rude. And I dont mind helping, its just hard to find apps and themes amongst all the questions.
Ya I usually don't post easy questions like this but I tried to find somewhere that talked about the stock Rom and framework but didn't find much. Love the Rom since it was the same Rom I used on my G2 but it was Evils custom rom. Hard to go back to stock when your used to modifying your own images lol

I hear that, its no fun if its not custom.
Did you see my thread on changing the android on the usb connect screen? Its also done through the framework. I would post link but I'm mobile. :/

Nope haven't looked into it right now, since I just switched from the G2 I was going to read up on everything before but it seems like most of the G2 stuff is almost the same as the myTouch 4G so I'll be able to just go to town lol. If I do anything new I'll definitely add it to the pot once I get something good

You can't actually change the notifications pane with that, but there are notification icons and the percentage battery changes there. I just use the silver circle one and left the rest stock, nice b&w feel to it.
More complex changes require a deodexed ROM like IG, CM6/7, eViL's MIUI, etc.
Is there a stock rom that's been deodexed? That's all I'm looking for right now but I'm not finding anything

Im told that Iced Glacier is pretty much a faster version of the stock rom. (I havent tried it myself)
However if you are just trying to change the Icons in the status bar you dont need to be deodexed to use the mods in the link previously mentioned. Im running stock rom with one of those mods myself currently
Ya I was able to change the notification icons, signal, battery...only thing I couldn't do without having FC issues was change the battery into a percent. Even with those mods on the link I was getting FC issues
Ok so i plan on downloading the miui.us rom sometime today, but i have a few questions i wanna clear up some things.
I was looking around the forum today and i came across this, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1302004. I want to install this as my lockscreen but im a little lost at something , it says CM7 , so does this mean it will only work on cm7 roms ? but then it also says miui, which is the rom i want. I don't get why cm7 and miui are together, is it a theme of miui put into cm7 or something?
Thanks in advance

This is the miui lockscreen, ported to CM7. You will already have this lockscreen,so there is not point in trying to install it.

That's a theme.
Miui does not look like that.

Would you know what the theme is called ?
It's great that there is a thanks button, but there needs to be a "cut a n00b" button. It would result in an arm reaching through the computer screen with a butter knife and going to town.
You're quizzing us on themes and you haven't even installed the ROM yet? Seriously? Install the ROM and see if you still have any questions.
If memory serves me correctly, the second post in the miui.us thread explains the basics of miui such as how one ought to approach themes and other useful tips.
Theming MIUI works differently than most other Roms. There is a built-in theme app in miui that lets you browse through online themes, download them, and apply them onto your phone. Its worth downloading the rom and checking it out.
I've been around this android world for a while. Never could figure out theme making or how to even mod a Rom lol,and I did read read read. Just couldn't get it down pat with my little time off each day. I was wondering if anyone knew where a how to was that explains how to push like let's say widgetlocker with a certain theme to system/app in a rom? Maybe adw with a certain theme chosen by me? Kind of like theming a rom without messing with the framework and stuff.
Also if anyone knows a good tutorial on how to make sense 3.0 skins,a link would be nice:F
Thanks in advance, sorry for the noob.behavior, just have never really got into it. I'm very interested now

Just wondering if anyone knows a kitchen which is compatible with the sgs3? Ive tried searching on here & via google but only found kichens built into roms! I want one which is compatible with any sgs3 rom. Like the UOT Kitchen (for Desire HD or HTC phones), which you can change icons, status bar colours, colour of the date & the time, & more if possible? Anyone know of one or a few i could try? Thanks in advance :good:
ROM toolbox pro basically does all that.

Tried that already & even though it is a very very good app still not what I am after, works better with the HTC phones, & I am looking for more of a program for the PC & not on the phone, similar to the UOT Kitchen but made or compatible with the Samsung galaxy S3.
Thankyou though for that & hopefully there is such a program for the sgs3 phone? & if not why not????

Checkrom's kitchen pro app is nice
Sent from my buttery smooth S3
its only for the checkrom rom!
There's another kitchen in the market too called phonandroid but its not in English & doesn't look like it supports sgs3? Or not with the options I'm looking for? There's omega rom kitchen but like the others only really supports the omega rom!
Isn't there any devs out there who can create such a program for all sgs3 roms like the UOT Kitchen but for Samsung instead or HTC? Sure they would get so much credit, respect & possibly plenty of donations for there time & effort????

UOT stopped updating fore some reason .
Most are now using the in rom kitchens or JKay mods when they arrive .
Possible ask in Themes section may get a better response .
jje
Thanks i may just try asking in the themes section? Thought it would be best asking in the q&a section, maybe I may ask in a few posts in themes rather than making my own post though, thanks mate & if anyone else knows of a kitchen please comment here or pm me.
Thanks again
