As the title states, when I enabled JIT on official 2.1 x10a firmware from Roger, it changed my phone to x10i. how can I change it back while keeping JIT so I can get future updates?
Thanks
I know it's in the forums. There is a string in a file you need to alter. Worked like a charm for me.
I have to run, but I'll be back home in about 2-3 hours. If you haven't found the information by then, I'll help search for it with you.

Use one of the methods in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=824711
either of the 2 will work, for 2.1 you will be editing the build.prop
looks complicated haha
wish there was a script for this
oh well
thanks a lot

JIT for X10a (build 2.0.A.0.504)
Hi All,
For all of you who install JiT and worry that their phone says X10i rather than X10a, I have edited and attached the JiT files so now it will say X10a running 1234-4820 world generic. Just download the attached file and follow the instructions here. You can download Terminal Emulator.apk from the market.
Hope this helps.
**EDIT**
JIT v2 has been released and it does not change the model info. You can find it here.
Unintenionally Downgraded to .504 build
This worked great. I was able to install JiT without trouble.
I later discovered I was back on the .504 build. After reflashing to the .24 build I discovered that it was the JiT that downgraded me. Is there a JiT for the latest build?
Thanks

There is an optimized version of JIT for Xrecovery, also a version of 024 rooted and with JIT.

Thanks for your response. I was trying to avoid installing XRecovery. I ended up using Bin4ry's flash tool. Then I gave in and installed XRecovery to get JiT2.

This is the older JIT version. It did not change your firmware, it changes the build.prop. You were still running the .24 fw but, the build.prop was from the old firmware. I forgot to update it since the new JIT has been released and it does not affect the model info.

I'm currently running 2.1 Nordic on X10 mini pro. When my country's (SG) version 2.1 is out, is it possible to just change the build.prop in current Nordic version to SG and re-flash via SEUS?
Is there any other thing i should be aware of before i try that?
Thanx in advance.
I tried for the purpose of test to flash Russian 2.1 over Nordic 2.1. It didn´t work.

****, because that's what i wanted to do when the german 2.1 is out. so, if that isn't possible, what do we do then?
edit: i read so much stuff on here the last days, what i'm going to try is de/reinstall SEUS after that, at least move or rename the /db/ folder.
You can flash back to 1.6, root, change build.prop and update again via seus.

I stand corrected. you can´t downgrade to 1.6, but can switch to another version of 2.1 via editing build.prop
It is a good idea to reinstall seus, and delete all directories of Sony Ericssson before making any drastic changes.

vlissine, can u list down which country version u're able to change to? Cuz i tried a few SG version but was unsuccessful.
Yeh u can just delete the settings db and temp folders instead of reinstalling seus I think. Something like that anyway, don't remember the exact folders
Sent from my U20i using XDA App
For 1.6, all we need to do was change the country/product in build.prop and just update via seus. So i'm assuming the same applies to 2.1 as well, unless I'm wrong.
PS: U can't downgrade to 1.6 via SEUS but u can flash to 1.6 via flashtool.
Apparently when you tell PC Companion to Repair, it will obey whatever is in build.prop regardless of the current firmware, thus allowing you to shuttle between different 2.1 firmwares.
Allegedly, anyway. I haven't test this myself.
i just put báck the original build.prop and my phone went into infinite boot loop ????????????/ so weird. any body can help me...
try to reinstall using seus. if not reload everything using flashtool.

Well the model is Originally X10i as it says in the back of the phone. Then I flashed it to X10a for FW 1.6 because I use it in Honduras, Central America. After that I did the Flash for X10i Global 2.1. So I really don't know what to do and which version I will get.
I found out in this blog that kit on the back of my phone 1232-4308 already has the update but SEUS always used to say I have the latest update.

theres a tutorial somewhere around here (i cant find it anymore) tbat shows how to change your phone to any brand you want. you just need to find the code for the region you want, then go into your settings file and change the numbers accordingly. sorry im not much help i havent done it in a while, just look around for it it shouldnt be any further than page 3 of android development. But yea once you change the right codes restart your phone twice and then plug it into seus and click reinstall and your good to go btw you will need root acess and a program like root explorer to do this

Hi All,
I've recently purchased an X10 and while its quite a nice phone, I'm sure it would be a hell of a lot nicer if it was running 2.1 - some things which are "missing" in 1.6 have started to annoy me haha.
To this end, it would appear Telstra are about the slowest telco on the planet to release an update. My current firmware is as follows:
X10a
Country: Australia, Brand: Telstra
Phone Software Version: 1227-4612_R2BA023 GENERIC
I understand that if I follow a tutorial such as the "Debrand your Xperia X10 [Tutorial]" on xperiax10.net (google finds it, I'm not allowed to link yet sorry!) and debrand it, SEUS will then automatically update my phone to 2.1 next time I try to update.
Can anyone tell me what is a good X10a firmware for use in Australia? Note that it needs to be X10a since I use an 850MHz "nextg" network. The list on the link above appears to give me a rather limited set of choices, none of which sound generic or australian (what makes latin america latin america??).
If anyone could give me some hints that would be most apprecitated!
Thanks,
Tom

Which no doubt stems from xda, so you might as well use the original guides from here.
X10Flash 2.1 final & 2.1 Firmware (Update Flasher 14.11.2010)
That will debrand and update you to 504 firmware, then you can install xRecovery, then install a prerooted .24 which is the latest FW, which can't be rooted in the usual methods just yet.
And give this a read too - Step By Step Flashing 1.6 - 2.1
Aside of Xperiax10user advice. After you are done with the upgrade to. 504 2.1 version I recommend you to follow this easy thread to install Xrecovery, delete Junk apps and install Zdizihu's JIT v2...

Tom, I had exactly the same issue with Telstra. My brother is with Optus and had his months ago. I finally cracked it and de-branded my phone, installed 2.1 and it all went fine. Trust me its worth it. Then i rooted it and have'nt looked back... goo luck mate
Hi,
Thanks for the advice! I followed the tutorial and updated to 504, then flashed again to .24, however on both of these my bluetooth does not work :-/ Windows 7 shows nothing in the services menu and the phone seems to pair with devices but never connect. Also the .24 ROM available appears to have been a X10i ROM, this doesn't seem to have mattered though as 850MHz HSDPA still seems to work.
Any thoughts on fixing bluetooth?
I haven't installed the rooted version btw and I'm not quite sure what xrecovery does? Thanks!!
Fixed BT - turns out it didn't like to talk to my MacBookPro on Windows - updating Boot Camp drivers to 3.2 fixed that.
As for xrecovery, what does it do? And how does one root 0.24?
Thanks for the help!

Thanks for clarifying - it seems to be working nicely now so I'm pretty happy haha I'll get bored and have a go at rooting it eventually! After putting 504 on SEUS told me I was up to date, but all is good now
What version is fastest and what is the newest? The .504 is only for uk?
2.0.2.A.0.24 Is newer. It has a faster gui and other pros. The other version is available in all the world. Regards
Just get the newest. I'ts rootable and custom themes will be adjusting to it.
Is there a thread or place with all the links to download the latest firmwares (ordered by version)?
I tried this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=825664
But there they don't specify if the firmwares are 2.0.2.A.0.24 or 2.0.A.0.504 (I tried the UK one, but I found that it's 2.0.A.0.504).
I've an X10 Mini E10i. Any help?
Thanks in advance.
Not sure whether .24 is newer. When I plug in the usb pc companion prompts me to update the software even though it's on 0.24. I haven't tried updating cause all it will do is install a patch to remove the root.
As stated in the Wiki:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Xperia_X10_Mini_Official_ROMs
The .24 is newer than the .504
Hi.
I have found very little difference between .504 & .24 (Agreed, .24 is newer) I think that the primary purpose of it was to stop ROOT.
I use JIT and the performance via Linpack is always above 7.00 MFLOPS (Almost twice as fast as standard!). I had these results on both versions.
.504 currently has the better compatability for themes... until people port them to .24.
Hope this helps

BTW this update doesn't seem to have anything great which can equal the pain taken to reinstall everything. If Termdonte's process works OK universally then it can be tried.
