Ok, this is my second theme for Gummyjar 2.1. Actually its my second theme ever This is a complete theme, most system apps are themed, including phone, gallery, music, google search bar, and many more. The blue is very dramatic but im surprised by how well the theme flows. This will install adw launcher and if you use launcherpro, there is a few quirks, nothin major. You might not even notice

Well, I don't know about the rest of you but I enjoy the functionality of MySense in certain respects. My dislikes are not enough to get me to jump to an alternative launcher but they are enough to make me want changes.
In my eyes.... two things will make Espresso aesthetically pleasing and more functional. The first being redirecting/replacing the My Faves with Browser or messenger. And the second... changing the drawer icon to the FROYO blocks icon.
Now, I don't have a full grasp on what would be involved in doing so, but common sense or my lack of understanding perhaps tell me those 2 icons and the 1 remapping can't be too involved. To anyone out there ready and willing to take this on... I will volunteer to be the guinea pig for testing. Me and Nandroid are best friends.

Lol, not forgotten... that is still on my list in the quest of a perfect MT4G. I am going to make that one my personal project. I figured it is in my best interest to enlist some "qualified" help for the Espresso Project.
lol the things you mentioned above are my exact problems with the stock launcher as well everything else i like as of lately ive jus been using a combination of iced glacier and ADW to get sumthing almost similar to wat you discribed but in all i would love to see an actual rom that benifits both i too will be a tester for anyone who decides to take on this project and good luck

ADW is a nice launcher. I just hate losing the MySense features by doing so....

i agree ADW doesnt have any real widgets so it does put u at a loss. if sumone could successfully merge the two launchers and have the benifits of both we would have a fricken great rom for this phone. i tried to flash the apks from the glacier rom onto the ADW launcher but it freezes the homescreen i cant get the widgets to successfully adapt to the ADW protocols which puts me back to sqaure one lol

-simiclock (has weather now)
-quick settings for the best customizable power and brightness controls and can be launched from tapping simiclock when set up that way, also can be added to status bar
-circle battery (just looks cool and clean)
All of this together makes me very pleased with this phone. I have test out sooooo many different apps for these functions and various roms on other phones.. just my taste and opinion.. but give them a try if you havent.
Hey guys just wondering how I can really speed up my phone, rom or kernal? Or both? I just downloaded the evil fascination theme and I'm trying to do some further customization! Like the phone in that vid! It's crazy fast and I was just wondering what I should download and how to apply it while keeping the evil theme. Also when he switches screens in the vid, it flips it doesnt just slide left and right. How would one do that? The launcher, rom or theme? I guess I cant post the vid, but its on youtube and its "My awesome samsung fascinate!!!!"

The speed you're describing most likely has to do with the Rom and kernel. The transitions sound like a launcher(such as Launcher Pro).

Yea I hear its the kernal. What's one of the quickest kernals there are? I know it varies from phone to phone but whats been stable yet quick. Also how do I install a kernal over my theme?

I'm currently using Nemesis' OTB 1.3 kernel for TouchWiz roms. That one makes my phone really quick and smooth. Since kernels don't affect your theme, you just flash it in ClockWorkMod Recovery.

Also, otb works only with voltage control.
Another question. Aside from kernals making my phone quicker. What customizations can I do to make the phone look like no other fascinate. I already have launcher pro and its rooted and beautiful widgets, but is there anything else I can do. I see people with clocks on there homescreens that are written out, like threesixteen. How do you get that? And other customizations?
There are a ton of different widgets to change the look of your phone. To have the time written out, try clockr.
Also, the Market site lets you search for widgets only.

Another clock you might want to have a look at is the Make Your Clock Pro (Beta) App. Looks really cool, like you can fully customize the clock layout to your liking. I have not tried it - just stumbled on it today... But it sounds like something you might be after.
The flip transitions - or any of the 7 that are included in LP+ are accessed via:
Menu Soft Key> Preferences> Homescreen Settings> Transition Effect. In there are the 7 choices. My personal fav is Flip, but there ought ot be somethign there to suit your taste.

Yeah, I grabbed a few of these. I like the circuitboard one. I use ADW EX, so I'm mostly skinning the notification bar with this, but it's still a cool touch.

I think we all realize us X2 are owners are few.
As such, we have less themes and less ROMs to choose from. Since we dont have 50 people making themes for 26 different ROMS, I figured it best to hone in on what people would want to see.
I am not saying I am going to make one (I just might though) but, one of the three of us.. there are three themers right? Me, Funkencool and MuffStuff? Just might.
So, now is you chance to say what you would like to see in a theme.
Colors, backgrounds, apps themed, whats included, etc..
I'll give you an example.... (although this is not a request by me)
Transparent backgrounds, Neon blue images. Blue matching text colors, maybe change the lock slider on the lockscreen. I use the internet, xda app, music and calendar the most so those would be cool to be themed as well.
Now toss out some ideas so the few of us that do it can make something a lot of people can enjoy!
As a sidenote, dont know about anyone else but, if I make it, it will be for the Eclipse ROM.

Guys, I cant just grab someone elses work. Yo would need the author to port it over for you.
I don't know what else Funk or Muff has done for other phones. Me personally, for the D1 I have made themes in the color of... Chrome, Blue, Red, Orange and Pink.
What the main thing was here was to make a new theme based off the ideas from you guys.
Choose a color, choose icons, choose details, etc... Be as specific as possible. solid color, glow, fade, etc.. it can be as simple or as complicated as the two images I am about to post up.
I also just learned something new trying to make that funky looking image.. im stoked!
Something with just the basic necessities in it, with an orange theme..
Orange would be the easiest since I have it about 90% done...lol

I'm on board and I like you example(as an example) it would be nice if we could just get a good clear view of what you guys want in a theme. Especially apps because I've been wanting to get started on some.. just not sure what exactly.
Personally(and this isn't an example) I most often use ShapeWriter and the stock moto keyboard, dolphin mini, forum apps(xda, rootz), gapps (especially voice and gmail), stock messaging(eclipse's), and Mort player for my music. those are at least the ones I like to look good the most, but really most of mine are themed or themeable.
PS i also would rather just do something original than port an already existing one.

I am interesred in themes that match. I am currently running eclipse 4 with blue blur 1.3. This has probably been my lobgest running setup. I use adw ex with i2 theme icons (mostly because there are over 1000 themed and its free). I also use widget locker as well, so lock screen isnt important to me. I use most of the basic apps but almost no widgets anymore cuz they dont match or burn battery faster. I really just want it all to look the same. I love tapatalk app cuz it will use system colors to match. Wish all apps have this ability. Would make changing themes so much faster and easier for you guys. As for colors i like blue, black, grey, and green. Not all together but not all one either. Two tone cars look great right? I think two tone droids are sweet as well. I have all the tools to get the job done just need more practice with them. I have only ever been successful with the droid 1, was so much easier with no bootloader so if i messed it up. Starting over was quick.

Theming the X2 is almost exactly like the D1. You just have to get the basics down with the dependencies and such. I just bought this phone 2 weeks ago (I think) so, you can see, its just a quick bit of getting the feel for it down. THe only real thing I dont like is that I have to plug my phone into the wall charger to get into recovery. I liked being able to just do that on the fly with the D1.
It looks to me though, from what you said, you really like the Blue Ice Cream theme but wish there were more widgets. You would also like to see some of that blue two-toned. You mean like a fade I am assuming?

You really should work on theming if you have time, and perhaps sell it on Play Store You really have great potentials.
