[Q] HD2 or MT4G? - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So as many of you know I have recently lost my beloved HD2. Now I am shopping for new device and narrowed it down to few devices, but believe it or not on top of the list its still HD2. So specify which you would pick and why as it would be very helpful to me.

Only reason I'd get the HD2 over the others is its hackability. If you just want an Android device and don't want to multiboot I'd personally get the G2 because I like hardware keyboards but the MT4g is better if you don't care about that.

LOL the customizability is the only reason I was even considering this device as I haven't seen anything like it. This device has access to more platform ATM then any other device. So I was super pissed when I lost it. I mean I paid $750 for the Leo1024 unlocked version and got it on TMobile months before it was released to the general public. But at this point I am not welling to pay $300 for this phone when its 1 year old, thats just crazy. I went for the G2 also but later moved to MT4G as its going for $300 also and its better device.

MT4G 7/8
TMobile
(WON) MT4G vs G2

(WON) MT4G vs HD7
Sprint
(WON) MT4G vs Evo 4G
(WON) MT4G vs Epic 4G
AT&T
(WON) MT4G vs iPhone 4
Other
(WON) MT4G vs Nexus S
MT4G vs Desire HD (WON)
Well, after comparing many phones to MT4G in many areas like spec, benchmark, IRL usability (browser, map, cam, ect). This is the overall result I got in my opinion so I am not trying to be biased here as I myself voted for HD2. But the only device that did beat MT4G in my opinion was Desire HD which is what I wanted only if they supported 3G in USA, hell IDK why HTC make stupid decisions. I know ill be super pissed of if they realse DHD in USA with US model just like they did with HD2.

Looks like I have made my decision as I already placed order for MT4G, in the end I was not welling to pay $300 for old device top of that idiots are selling it claiming "like new" lol we all know its used, so let them have their cake and eat it also. I now hope that MT4G community is also rich as ours and hope it grows in development also or ill be super pissed as HD2 hackablity is unbeaten.

what to get for next phone?

i'm on T-Mobile's network (off contract) and have no intentions of switching carriers as T-Mobile has been cheap and provided excellent service in Philly.
i used to have an Amaze 4G which i sold to get an unlocked AT&T Galaxy Note. now i'm using my brother's G2 (awesome upgrade from the Note huh? )
so i'm wondering what my next phone should be and have narrowed it down to 3 choices.
HTC One S - not sure how to feel about this phone. updated sensation 4G? but great size and feel to the phone. fast fast fast S4 processor. having used the Note, i wish it had higher res and NFC capabilities. the plus here is that my brother is willing to get this phone for me for $200 using his upgrade.
Galaxy Nexus - i've always loved nexus phones. Direct Google updates, tremendous dev support, 720p screen, etc. but outdated internals (compared to what is currently available on the market)
Galaxy SIII - no concrete details yet, but willing to hold out until May 3rd...although i'm itchin to replace the G2
assuming the SIII is not all that it's hyped to be, then One S or Galaxy Nexus?
the One X would be nice, but i want to stay with T-Mobile...unless AT&T's version has hidden support for T-Mobiles AWS frequencies a la Galaxy Note.
One S hands down. The oxidised metal and design is great!

anyone here upgraded to HTC EVO 4G LTE ?

hi, I'm looking to upgrade my photon to HTC EVO 4G LTE
does anyone here own both of the phone ?
and can you give me some inputs ?
what I'm really want to know is :
-voice quality / earpiece sound quality (the photon is the very good if its not the best ear piece on a phone that i have ever owned before)
-battery life ( i use seidio extended battery on my photon, so i want o know what to expect from the non removable battery of HTC)
-radio reception strenght ? (again the Photon is one of the best in this department as well)
i want to upgrade because :
-im tired of waiting for the ICS on the photon
-and though the seideio battery is awesome , but the bulk is quite noticeable
-and the photon screen is terrible IMHO (can't hurt to change to 720p 4.7" screen NON PENTILE)
actually i also considered the Samsung galaxy SIII but i've never been a fan of samsung, and to me their build quality is not so good, and the material used is feel kind of cheap
and also i hate the touch wizzz i've always been a fan of SENSE but because the EVO 3D have bad radio reception, then i bought the Photon, which is an awesome phone.
anyway , can please somebody gimme some inputs ?
thank you so much.
Another option that might be worth considering is the rumored LG phone, it suppose to have a quad core krait with 2gb ram also with new Adreno 320 gpu and is coming to sprint. Though it also depends on how you feel about LG.
But it eats benchmarks for breakfast, it effectively destroys even tablets.

thx, but I'm leaning towards HTC because i love sense, and with other devices, i can't replicate the UI of sense which IMHO is the best UI for android device.

I have not paid much attention to sense as I generally prefer stock ICS. But they still have not ported sense to other devices yet?
anyonne else?
I upgraded from a photon and I was on the HTC EVO 4G LTE. Switched to the galaxy S 3. Photon is by far has the best reception. Battery was Ok on the Evo. U can get 2 - 2 1/2 hours screen on time with normal use which is pretty much the average. Reception sucked and the gps was horrible. Sense was good but to be honest, kinda gets old like any launcher
The s3 is by far the better of the 2 in my opinion. Screen is not as crisp but I can get 4 hours + screen on time. Multi tasking works great and gps locks in less than 2 seconds and doesn't lose lock. Yes I'm referring to a Samsung phone with good gps lol. Best gps I've ever used on a phone.
Very worthy upgrade to the photon.
And touchwiz is polished unlike before. I actually like it better than sense. But it's all personal preference.

[Q] Nexus 5 vs LG G2

Looking at getting a new phone. Coming from the N4, I am used to stock and enjoy the quick updates. However, the G2 offers a better camera and much more importantly a better battery life. Can anyone speak to their experience with custom roms with G2? I'm under the impression that roms for non-nexus devices tend to be buggier.
Be ready to see this locked
LG G2
I chose the g2 over the nexus for the added screen size' the button placement which i absolutely love, camera, battery life. I could go on. Vanilla android is nice but honestly , the g2 ui is awesome. I absolutely feel no need to flash away to other things.
Just got rid of the N5, do have to say it is awesome. Camera is hit or miss. It'll surprise you but more times then not its pretty dissapointing. Battery life is rather horrendous for the n5 but it s doable, barely! If you like to switch it up and flash alot of roms then get the N5. So far the g2 has been one of if not the best smart phone I've ever owned or had the pleasure of putting my mitts on. As for roms I'm still stock for now but even this way the g2 is blazing through whatever I shoot at it. Benchmarks don't mean **** but it does stroke the ego a tad.

Pa is really stable, and with a good 4.4 rom like this it's basically an n5 with a bigger screen and better battery.
So it's almost n5 vs n5 plus if you ask me.

ZTE accuses Huawei’s Nexus 6P of ripping off its Athena phone

The latest batch of Nexus smartphones are certainly look quite a bit different to last year’s model. But they’re apparently not unique enough for ZTE, which has accused Huawei of copying the design of its Athena handset when it came up with the Nexus 6P.
Taking to the Chinese social network Weibo, ZTE’s marketing director Lu Qian Hao suggests that the Nexus P6 pays a heavy tribute to the ‘elegant’ and ‘stunning’ ZTE Athena, also known as the Grand S. The message was directed at Huawei’s Yu Chengdong.
I don’t think Google translate is working too well though, as there’s also something about Huawei having a sex change operation thrown in there too? Either way, he doesn’t seem to have taken the 6P’s launch too well.
Comparing the two side by side, there is certainly a similarity between the ZTE Athena and the Nexus 6P when you look at the black bar across the back. Then again, the Athena is a design from back in early 2013 and ZTE hasn’t seemed too bothered about reviving the look for any of its recent models. The Nokia 808 PureView also springs to mind.
Huawei and ZTE have a long running rivalry. The two Chinese companies compete not only in the smartphone market but also in the international telecommunication equipment field too. However, this wouldn’t be the first time that Huawei has been accused of “paying tribute” to other smartphone designs with its products, so perhaps ZTE has a point?
What do you think about the resemblance?

Who cares..
Hmmmm ....... Smart phones look similar ..... Imagine that
That zte also looks like a Motorola atrix HD. At least a little bit. Not sure if that phone came out in 2012 or 2013.

Nice try ZTE!
Those who care please speak up...
*crickets*
Hmm, the major similarity is that big black bar aaaaand that's it. The bar isn't even the same size. That bar also isn't unique to ZTE, as mentioned by others.
As a result, I give exactly 0 flips about this.

Question OnePlus Nord N20 5G discontinued

I've been told that the OnePlus Nord N20 5G has been discontinued due to poor sales and is being replaced with the SE variant.
Their website doesn't even mention this phone anymore, and the product page was taken down. I guess there's no hope in getting stock firmware from OnePlus anymore.
The SE variant is basically just the 5G version without 5G and with an ugly teardrop camera design instead of the holepunch like the rest. The N10 5G is not a substitute for the N20 5G, they have many differences despite being similar in branding.

Their selling them on prime early access NOW. They may not be planning on doing much else with the device but they've already produced them by the thousands. There are branded as well as unbranded variants. I think they messed up with the N20 and n200 naming because the n200 literally sounds like it would be the better phone but none intuitively it is a much lesser device so I think they sort of shot their self in the foot with that. But that being said, the SE is a terrible device compared to it's predecessor. It's literally not even in the same league. I would say that maybe the SE is a expensive high , low tier device looking at specs and what I've heard from others
I have zero complaints about the N20 other than the fact that they seem to have rushed it out and then back stepped. There are plenty of things they could be doing to give the user better experience with these devices but they seem to have made their little bit of money and ran moving on to other projects and it feels like they sort of just forgot about their customers. But I'm sure there will be more devs to come with the skill to give the community lots of cool mods and customizations maybe even just to spite the fact that one plus seems to have forgotten about us LOL. But I'm not angry there is really nothing I can complain about on this phone maybe they just feel like they got it right the first time.
Also SE is NOT anything like the 5g version. They went with worse hardware, lower performance CPU, no 5g etc... Completely different device.
If you can snag the OnePlus N20 5G at a good price then grab one while you can, assuming the OP is right about discontinuation. Not sure why they decided to go with a lower spec device to replace this one but maybe people just weren't ready for the price range that they listed it as. I believe mine were $280 when I got mine. Lots of people either want a cheap device or a flagship. I think you get the best of both worlds with the N20 5G
It's still on one plus website I just looked
Nevermind I'm in America we sell the n20 but not the se
