xperia photo gallery - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

is there any way to get the better gallery to stop forceclosing? it runs for about 5 seconds sometimes, but in those 5 seconds I'm convinced it is much better than mediascape

Stock Picture widget

Is there any way to increase time between pictures slides in stock picture widget? Right now it is like 3 sec between pictures and I want at least 15 sec or 5 min. I looked at build.prop and didn't find anything. Tried other aps like Photo Gallery widget or Multipic Slideshow, but all of them display low resolution pictures even with build.prop tweak to display jpegs at 100. Tried search entire forum to no avail.
Thanks.

[Q] Why my camera is so Laggy?

So i have a problem my camera app (stock) and Google are so laggy it takes 3 seconds to open and also a couple to take the pic what can i do?
Increase Power to the camera
If the phone is rooted..... Get the Setcpu app.... Create a profile / hit the + sign / choose app / camera / keep turning up the min and max until it has no lag. Make sure you enable profiles and set on boot. Hope it helps
The "picture stabilization" in settings Also slows down actual picture taking. While handy for no flash pictures, it can be a bit excessive for the actual shutter time. Shut that off, and you got near instant pictures

[Q] Lost transition effect when view photo from camera

When I first purchase the phone, every time I view the recent photo that just took from camera, there was a transition effect where the blurred photo slide smoothly from right side and photo became clear after 1 or 2 sec
now for some reason, there's nil transition effect
when I click on the photo on the right bottom corner, the phone freeze for like 2 sec, then photo just suddenly pops out
it's not a game breaking big deal. but it certainly reduce the user experience
anyone know how to re-enable the transition effect again?

Time to take picture (camera launch speed)

There! Something just happened! Did you take a picture of it? Rate this thread to express how fast the HTC U11 Life can go from "zero to picture". A higher rating indicates that launching the camera app and taking a photo is extremely fast such that you never miss an important moment, like when your cat attacks the couch again.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
I'm on a completely stock 8.0 (2.15.531.11). it's very slow and buggy.
If you use edge sense to activate the camera and take the photo its very quick because you dont need to turn the screen on you dont need to unlock the device, just a short squezze to activate display and camera and a second squezze to take the picture. Running android one this takes about 2-3 seconds and you have the picutre.

For me the camera is still slow even when i use the edge sense. it takes about 2-4 seconds after i squezze it for the camera to turn on. The app opens but the lense doesn't wake up and the it takes even longer for the squezze to take the picture.

I dont know why but with latest update it does not even work anymore to wake the device with squezze. With the update before there was no problem to wake the device and start the camera app. Btw. i dont use the stock HTC camera app, i use Google Camera with HDR+ from here https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-cstark27/
You are right the stock camera app needs a few seconds to start but google camera is just about 1,5 seconds and its ready.

Camera standby issue

Hi, I take photographs with my mate 20 Pro remotely, using Bluetooth headphones to take the shot (wildlife snaps). Thing is, Emui camera app doesn't seem to have an adjustable screen on time for the camera app. The screen turns off after around 40 seconds, which is no good to me. I want it on much longer, preferably all the time.
Is there any way to adjust this you folks?!
I have my screen on time set to 10 minutes on settings and no battery saving set manually.
