Did you checked /sdcard/downloads/ file?

Thanks for the reply....
As I said earlier... I have double checked all expected places on the sd card....!! No luck so far...!! :-(

From where do you dowmload, an app like music junk or from your browser? If you use a browser like X it should be at: sdcard/X/downloads.

As I have said Yes, I have double checked all expected download folders on the sd card. No luck so far ... And I am pretty much stuck as my laptop is also out for service. :-(

Very strange ... wonder what the problem is...

Maybe an option in browser just to play song without saving it...

Well the song wasn't played either... Just said that choose one to complete the.action and the choices were music and rockplayer. :-(
I am so so confused...

They asked you to choose one beacause you need one of them in order to play it. Sites like the one you mentioned don't work on our phones because we cannot right click unlike the pc

As for "emp3world" , hold your finger in the "download now" link with the name of the song you choose, until some options pop-up in the screen. then select "save link". it starts downloading to your sd card in the "download" folder. the file has a name like: to_download-1.mpga.

IMO what you're doing is only "playing" the mp3 , not downloading. In that case , musics will be streamed to you. So you need an application which can handle streams. (XiiLive maybe). Be sure to find an opiton as "download" , otherwise you'll have to only stream the media..

The solution is simple to download from any website such as beemp3:

Thanks for the replies guys.
Figured it out, a bit too late though but to download the song I had to right click and select save link as and no such option was given.
Now its all sorted. Using the mobile sites for downloads. Thanks a lot for your help

[APP] Avatar movie app

This app is for people who want to show off the Avatar movie on the vibrant but deleted the movie from their SD card or are using a different SD card.
You will probably want to delete the stock app from your system if you haven't already, and you have root permissions.
YOU MUST HAVE AN AVATAR MP4 ON YOUR SDCARD TO USE THIS APP
This app will NOT work with the stock copy-protected movie. You must use your own Avatar movie in a supported format.
What to do:
1. Install app.
2. Open app and select your Avatar video file from the video list.
3. Pick video player and set as default when prompted.
4. That's it! After picking the video for the first time the app will automatically play the movie when the app is opened.
Enjoy

2. Download the movie.

Yeah, me too. But I would like to have the original icon to work in the new location. Digging around I found the movie was set up more like and apk then a simple shortcut to the app, probably to keep us from screwing around too much.
Anyone have any luck reassigning the original icon with logo to the movie in a new location like the system SD? Launcher Pro Plus has a great deal of flexibilities with shortcuts, but I could not get there from it. Looks like I need to edit the apk file. That could be fun, anyone done this yet or know how I could?

CAnt play some video files

Quick question boys and girls.
I have sgs2 running on Villain 2.42 rom. Why am i not able to play videos made with my previous SGS?? SGS2 doesnt support those files, even when i try to copy them from computer i get message that my baby cant play those files.
Thanks for help!!
Just Copy them normally, not via Kies.
Try MoboPlayer, it's a good app.

I use an app called download all files(icon is blue box with white down arrow in market and free) that is an "auto app" that runs with your browser. So maybe if u get that and view the webpage gmail u can download any gmail attach. It may work with gmail app also bit I don't know. Worth a shot.
Edit::I know it comes up as a choice for what to use to download attachment when in gmail app. And it supports a lot of file types..try it out..I love having this small app take care of my download so I don't need another file manager that takes up cpu and ram running just to download files that I want
I will try later on, thanks

I have the very same question.
Don´t know why google put such limitations in gmail app. But Download all files did not help.
Anyone have another sugestion?
Thanks in advance!
Search market for download Gmail attachment.
I saw one before. Might have been downdroid.
But download all files SHOULD work. At least it does for me ...
Go to the market and search for "Download All Files." This app lets you download anything through the browser and Gmail. It's worked for me so far.
Echo echo echo lol
I have been using download all files ever since I rooted my phone. I didn't want to have to download astro just to download roms and found that app.
I have used it multiple times to save attachment from my Gmail also.
Pretty sure you just long press the attachment after you have "download all files" app installed.
it works on its own. You do not need to open it at all. Its is like a plug in/add on type of app
Download all files really don´t work for me. Don´t know why.
The app is installed, I long press the file in gmail and nothing happens.
Still looking for another one.

(Q) Music Player

Hey People,
I have put a few albums on my phone, but when I go into the music player and select albums, its showing the albums twice.
Eg, Dr Dre Album, this option has a few songs, and the 2nd option of Dr Dre shows the rest of the songs.
I'm not good at explaining, please see the thumbnail below.....
I know that the files have the same respective album name.....
Does anybody know how to sort this?
Sorry for confusing you guys, and thanks in advance for your replies
I get the same but only on the stock Samsung music player, only a couple are as you mentioned but in my case the first track is listed as album then right underneath it is same album with rest of the tracks.
Poweramp doesn't do that, I thought it might have been a ID3 tag issue.
Can't see your screenshot, but have you checked that the 'Album Artist' fields are the same for each song?
For example, you may have the Dr Dre but one of your songs might have the 'Artist' as Dr Dre ft Eminem - you would need the 'Album Artist' to say Dr Dre for them all to show as the same album.

I get this on the stock player and also on "musixmatch"
The weird thing is, all the albums are showing properly on my Defy
The best way to fix it is delete the album from your device, open the folder on your computer, select all songs, right click on them, select properties and make sure everything is the same. Happend to me a few times when album artist was different for a couple of songs
Have checked all the tags (use mediamonkey on PC) & the tags are ok, only shows doubles in stock player, other music players display the albums correctly.
Did notice it appeared right after the first firmware upgrade if that any use.

Couldn't find the option to clear data / music, thanks anyway Slaphead.
I have sent an e-mail to Samsung, let's see what they say

Ringtone Trimmer? There, but not there.

I've tried to search around for this but I can't seem to find it relating to the DNA. When scrolling through the system apps and files I came upon Ringtone Trimmer. After researching some I discovered it's usable on the OneX, bit no mention of it on the DNA forums. It's in there, butt my question is this: How do you access it and/or how can I find it to use it.
You get to it through the htc music app. There's a little sideways menu button, press that.

Ya what he says PLUS it has to be an MP3 not a M4A or any of that stuff. So if your using iTunes you'll have to convert it. Thats all..

So it's in the standard music app on the phone? Or is it a downloadable app from the store? I'm almost 100 percent sure that it's the stock music app. I have a midi project saved as music as an mp3 and I want to make a trimmed ringtone out of it. I do not see the option you guys are talking about. Maybe I'm just stupid or I have made the phone too lean in my debloat ingredients process. Maybe direct me towards a video or link or a screenshot might help but I don't see the option anywhere in that application.

Thanks for the screenshots. Apparently because I chose the more aosp (desense) look to my Viper DNA setup may be the reason it's not there. I have the standard music app but it looks nothing like the picture you have. Mine looks very similar (almost identical) to that of the 4shared music app. Perhaps I will try the sense version of the rom and see if that will help. I realize that this appears very easy to do but I simply don't have the app options you show in the screen shots.
Edit: I decided to reflash the Rom and sure enough the desensing tools had an option to remove HTC music and replace it with aosp and I had obviously selected that option. All is well and my ringtone from my midi project is now created. Thanks for all the help. The screenshot was the kicker bigandrewgold. Thanks.
