Problems with BT tethering A70it > rooted Dream (Wireles Tether) - Gen8, Gen9, Gen10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone .. I'm having issues tethering with my a70it through a rooted HTC Dream (G1) with Cyanogen 6.1
I have installed Wireless Tether for root users, and it works fine over wifi with my laptop, but my a70it doesn't see it using wifi, and its a bloody batery sucker.
So I've tried using BT. I change Wireless Tether to use BT, pair de archos and then in options I see the phone ready for tethering. I set it up and when I click on "Tether" I've found two different problems.
Sometimes it just stays "connecting" for a while then says it's impossible to connect, and sometime it connects, I can browse using navigator for some seconds, but then, without doing anything I get network error and I can't use internet anymore... though it stays connected (the little phone in the a70 taskbar keeps showing).
Anyone had this kind of problems? Is there any workaround to make it work?
Thanks!

Moved to general as not rom development

Try this Wireless tether apk, it is a older version and it works perfect for me on my incredible and on my wife moto2.

Wireless Tethering Issue

I have recently rooted my droid Eris that was on 2.1 via OTA. I then dropped the Vanilla Rom on top of it. i used Wireless tethering for 1st time today and the WEP function wasnt working as other computers connected to it. Any idea why not working, also now it keeps hanging on starting/stopping when turning tethering. finally when I turn on Access Control I get Force close issues.
I believe there is a known bug with trying to enable WEP with Wireless Tether for Root. I would say just disable WEP (i dont know if you have to uninstall/reinstall) and just turn on Access Control.
Use the access control to specify which MAC addresses can connect to the access point.
Ok, thanks I will try that out.
coudlnt get it working with WEP either. but disabled, everything runs fine. drains the battery and sets it on fire tho! just a minute ago it got up to 47.8 C

[Q] Barnacle WiFi tether from phone to A70

just received my A70, installed GApps and a few programs through the file viewer after transferring via USB.
Then, I wanted to download a few apps from the market...
I got Barnacle setup on my X10, and my laptops can both see the new WiFi network created by it, but the Archos can't
Has anyone tethered using this method before?
If so, I think I am using the wrong channel to connect, but can anyone advise which WiFi channel the A70 would require??
I can pick up other WiFi networks, but can't actually connect to them due to restrictions on the routers (I'm at work, they require MAC addresses and for some reason wont let me add this to the network )
Try any channel below 11. It's a known kernel issue.
if it creates an AD-HOC connection, then that's the issue.
Aha, yes it does. Damn
I'll have to try the proper tethering method then using the cell phone tether option (which I briefly tried but failed to connect through bluetooth)
Try "Wireless Tether for root users" with it's bluetooth option. Works for me Have the tether activated on the phone while pairing it with the Archos though.

[Q] WiFi connectivity help...

Bought my gtablet a few weeks back when it was on woot and have loved it so far. Did the Clockwork/TNT Lite setup, and have added a few games and apps...
I'm not sure if it is an app I installed or something else, but right now it will connect to WiFi as always, but the internet doesn't work. Other devices using the same access points connect and work perfectly, just my gtablet is failing. It goes through what appears to be a normal connect and gets an IP without any failure and shows connected, but none of the news, marketplace, or web browser apps are able to connect to the internet.
Any advice to trouble shoot network connectivity? I had recently installed LauncherPro and was working on installing Titanium Backup Pro, (which I either didn't actually download and was just emailed a key, or it never installed because I can't find it anywhere...)
Thanks!
Chris
I'm having the same problem with the ad-hoc wifi connection to WMwifirouter. The gtab shows it is connected with an IP, but no internet traffic will pass. That same ad-hoc wifi connection works with other winXP laptops.
However, wifi connections to my two other wifi router works fine.
I'm on stock 3389 with tnt enhancement pack.
Adhoc problem sounds gateway related.... the former issue... id start with a wipe.

I have the same issue - was it fixed yelrx8 ?

[Q] newbie - tether half works

[Q] HTC Vivid + Nook Tablet for tether/GPS

So on my Vivid, I have Wajee's De-Sensed rom which I just call the nonSENSE rom (get it?). As of his build 0.7, I can use Wi-Fi hotspot via FoxFi and my laptop recognizes it just fine. However, when I try to get my Nook to connect to the same hotspot that I create via FoxFi, it doesn't work. It recognizes the hotspot and says it has full signal, but tries endlessly to connect and in the process the signal icon reads just one bar.. never actually connects and usually reverts back to saying "Saved" under the hotspot name. On both the Nook and my laptop, the network name is always AndroidAP regardless of what I set it to in FoxFi. Laptop says it connects successfully but there is no actual data connection.
My Nook is on ICS Alpha 0.02 and connects to Wi-Fi networks fine otherwise.. I really would like to use it as a navigation unit in my car but even now that hotspots ACTUALLY work on my Vivid, I STILL can't use the Nook... any suggestions?
Bump.
I would appreciate the same.
Search for the ad-hoc fix.
