Nice netbook messenger bag - G Tablet Accessories

Here is what I use for my G-Tab.
It is made my ultimateaddons
http://www.ultimate-netbook.co.uk/U...teaddons89102NetbookShoulderBagCase___393.htm
By far the best carrier for your G-Tab and its a reasonable price.
The device fits perfectly inside and it has plenty of room for accessories and tons of other stuff you may need on the ready.
This one gets 2 thumbs up from me!

So now that everyone's GTabs are on the way, lets focus on the goodies!
Im curious, whats everyones favorite cover/case?
I know I want the dock, but what else is a MUST HAVE? I've even read about a screen protector that improves viewing angle?!?
If you have any good suggestions, please let me know, post the URL for people to purchase etc!
Just received my Skinomi carbon fiber skin. Was very impressed with the material, looks to be the same 3M stuff that "dash kits" use in cars. 24 shipped on amazon. I've heard it sucks to install - but my tab won't be here until Thursday to find out
Right now I have just purchased the "Skinomi TechSkin - Black Carbon Fiber FILM Shield & Screen Protector" from Amazon (Skinomi.com has a larger selection and coupon codes can be found online), based on the reviews there and in a thread over here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=904814) I believe is the best we can buy right now to protect the screen, I went for the full body kit as I have not yet decided on which case I will end with but will most likely be one with a keyboard so I can use it while in class.
I may pick some cheap capacitive pens down the road too just because you can get them pretty cheap and shipped straight to South America where I live
....I am a nOOb so can't post outside links yet....
I'm pretty happy with these...
Arkon Portable Fold-up Stand
Carbon Fiber ThinSkin in Black
CLIP - Folio Case
I bought a dock but didn't really find myself using it after I got it so I sold it off on eBay for a tidy profit.
I also had one of those cases with the built-in usb keyboard but found it looked way too cheap and didn't keep the gTab snug so I got rid of that on eBay for a tidy profit as well.
If you want a case with a built-in bluetooth keyboard I highly recommend checking out it2steve's web store for a case he calls the BlutO.
See link here.
As for a small bag to carry all of your gTab accessories, I recommend the Targus CityGear bag for 10.2 inch Netbooks. It fits everything nicely. The only negative about this bag for me is that the shoulder strap is not removable.
I almost forgot about the Skinomi Screen Protector. It is fantastic as long as you follow the directions and let the damn thing sit until it's completely dry after you've applied it (like 24 hours if you can handle it) and you will be rewarded with a screen protector that you can barely tell is there.
I would dearly love to get the BlutO but it's my understanding that it stays sold out.
So far I've ordered the dock from merimobiles, $42.75 with coupon code bienvenu
Needed the lan port for work since we can't turn on wireless due to sensitive client files.
Messenger bag from Bensoutlet dot com $7.98 shipped. Got one that looks exactly like this for my netbook from 1saleaday last year for $10 shipped and hope it's the same one, great little sturdy bag.
Lenovo usb keyboard remote w/ trackball, don't know if it'll work w/gtab or not but for $27 I can use it with something else if it doesn't.
Have a neoprene sleeve to put it in until I decide on which screen protector and cover.
Dern, why did I type all of this out? Now I know how much I've spent LOL

It has the removable shoulder strap and an outside zipper compartment. I can cram a pretty good bit of extra "stuff" in there, adapters, wireless mouse, flash drives, etc.
I have skinomi black carbon fiber skin.
Now I just need some protection for it.

Just wanted to tell you I'm loving your nym
Bought a tshirt for the bf a couple of weeks ago that had a pic of a pig amongst the clouds with the caption "With enough thrust, pigs fly just fine" Hilarious
To make this post legal (and to satisfy my curiosity) how hard are these skins to put on? I bought screen protectors for my nook that I ended up wadding up and throwing in the garbage, couldn't ever get them to go on without steeeenkin' bubbles that irritated the crap outta me.

One more question for you. Do you think that messenger bag would fit a Gtab with one of these cases on it? Or is it already a snug fit with just the Gtab alone?

I can't answer that yet because FedEx still has my gtab
But. I have one that looks exactly like this one that I keep my 10.1" acer aspire one netbook in (has the extended battery) and I am able to put the netbook in a neoprene sleeve and then into the messenger bag and it fits. So I bought another one for the gtab figuring it should work for that as well. If it doesn't I'll be really surprised but won't be out much money at all.
Hope this helps.

Gotcha. I'll give it a shot. Thanks again.
I picked this up and it looks great:
http://www.amazon.com/Acer-AOD250-1...?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1299249594&sr=1-22
Very professional looking and holds the accessories fairly well. There is only the one outside pocket, so things just get thrown in. For under $20 (with amazon prime), who can complain?
I have a Wenger Swiss Army 12" laptop bag that I used for my netbook. Got it at Walmart for under $15. it too has removable strap and a side pocket too.
Anyone checked out this bad boy from belkin? At a whopping $8 it seems like quite the bargain.

Belkin is usually a good product. But here's what I use (in neoprene), just bought another two pack in fact:
http://www.meritline.com/flap-laptop-sleeve-neoprene-black---p-36331.aspx
Velcro flap closure, perfectly servicable and I've always been happy with them. Free shipping too, but you have to be sure to select that option. It does take a some time to deliver due to the fact that it ships from China. Also, these are a bit roomier than the usual stretch-to-fit neoprene sleeve. My netbook won't fit in that kind due to the extended battery.
What can I say, we wimmins love a sale ;->
I plan to wait to get my hands on the tablet (fedex will get it here on Thurs) ... play with it long enough to be certain I want to keep it ... and THEN ... shop for stuff. Else, getting rid of the tablet and all those accessories will be an humbling experience.
BTW, my CC. has a program where they will take back a product if the store does not accept it back. I hope I don't resort to it in this case.

Man purse for Gtab

So I had this old swiss army slim vertical messenger bag that I got from target years ago for $20. It was used to lug maps, water, and camera while touring italy, but now re purposed to lug my new gtab. I also picked up an even smaller one from Ross for $9 the other day. Both have 2 large main compartments with the smaller front compartment full of little pockets, clips, and zippered areas for nicknacks. The cool thing about this new man bag is that the rear compartment is actually padded (it didn't say it was for netbooks or anything) and it fits the gtab like a glove - like it was specifically made for it...
oh great, I'm too new to post links. just add the www in front...

That's a good looking bag. Not as much "man-bag-esque" as some of the other bags I've seen folks here posting. When I need a bag I've been using my Targus CityGear Netbook Bag.
On my last trip to Italy 3 years ago I got my wallet pick-pocketed while exiting a subway car in Rome. I knew the moment I stepped onto the walkway that my wallet was gone. Ended up wasting a whole day on the phone with my credit card companies to cancel the cards and to have them express ship replacements to me in Florence and then dealing with my bank to wire me cash. It sucked. That event forever tainted Italy for me. Since then I've avoided Italy like a rash and instead enjoyed the rest of western europe.
That's a good bag too. I tend to like the more vertical ones because they stick out less and you don't bump people as much in crowded situations, but you have to dig down further to get little stuff at the bottom. That sucks about loosing your stuff. We had been warned about pick pockets and used those slim necklace wallets that you wear under your shirt for money, credit cards, passports, etc and a cheap decoy wallet with monopoly money in my back pocket. I guess we looked like bums, cause no one stole it...
I've been using a Timbuk2 D-Lux Messenger bag for the last several weeks. It's a little bit pricey (about $90) but it is made in the USA, and it feels REALLY solid. On top of that, it has all kinds of cool features, like a cinch clip for the strap, so you can easily tighten the strap up so it's not constantly bouncing off your backside, and a retainer strap that goes around your side, so it stays in place on a bike. I keep my G-Tablet, some big Sennheiser can headphones (I'm an audio technician), snacks, pens, extra cables, etc. in mine.
Here's a link: (Mine is the black/grey/lime scheme)
http://www.amazon.com/Timbuk2-Strip...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1303417129&sr=1-1
Edit: Mine is the small size, which still has a decent sized main compartment. The laptop slot is where I keep the G-Tab, and there is plenty of room for it there, since it is designed for a 13" laptop.

I have the Targus bag mentioned above and I like it. It holds the G-Tab perfectly and has a second compartment for a book or papers as well as other pockets. It works well and is inexpensive. Not the most stylish though.

Where did you get the Ross $9 bag ? Can you post a link. I'm assuming that is the one that fits the Gtab like a glove?
Sorry, I don't have a link to the one at Ross. My local store just happened to have it next to a bunch of discontinued computer bags and iPad cases for $8.99
this is a better picture of it when fully stuffed, but I certainly saved a lot by rummaging through Ross...

This is what I use for my man purse:
http://www.irvsluggage.com/David-King-Distressed-Leather-Laptop-Messenger-Bag-Brown/DK-B-6111
Pricey, but I love the distressed leather look, and it's extremely sturdy.
I also have the Targus bag mentioned above, works great and lots of room for other stuff. I originally bought it for my gateway netbook, which is now for sale since I love my gTab so much
still a man-purse if I'm not a man? ... yes, I think so.
I am using a "FINATEX EXTRA SMALL - Multimedia Vertical Messenger" from Tucano, and really like it.
The padded and fuzzy-lined pocket fits the naked gtab well. (If cased, would fit fine in un-lined area.)
Very slim bag, but I can squeeze a cased kindle 2 in there also in a pinch.
Standout feature: handles earphone cord to an mp3 player extremely well.
tucanousa.com/PhotoDetails.asp?ShowDESC=N&ProductCode=BFITXS-C
Pros:
+ very slim vertical form
+ quality materials, well constructed, excellent stitching
+ earphone cord from mp3 pocket snakes up inside strap
+ I thought the $35 price was good in light of the quality & 'look'
+ available in black, coffee, or red (the red struck me as more feminine) all the same size, despite the confusing descriptions on the website.
Cons:
- smaller zippered area has only the small mp3 pocket to help organize the slim vertical space. no other pockets or loop attachments for wallet, keys, pen, etc. can be a bit awkward/snug since it's only accessible from the top.
- slim flat shape does not accommodate bulky items well. (However, the charging brick fits fine, especially if I un-clip the plug.)
This is not a 'kitchen sink' bag by any means, but is excellent for carrying the essentials... including the gtab of course!
By way of example... what's in my bag today:
1. large zippered section has room to spare: gtab, lens-cloth in pouch, (no charging brick today...)
2. small zippered section is fairly full with: wallet, 3x5"-ish moleskin notebook, cell phone (in mp3 pocket), house key, random girl-stuff
3. water bottle holder is clipped to the external loop. my giant supplemental keyring clips here too on the rare day I need to carry it.

Love the look of this! And thinking leather might be the way I want to go. Is it too big for the gtab? I want a serious man purse that fits my gtab and a few other odds and ends (phone, portable charger, hdmi cord, pens).

- Wondering if this one would be big enough. Hoping to go check it out in person as this website looks to have stores in my area!
I went w/ a folio case w/ a built in stand and that $5 neoprene case that was at target or something. Folio cases are the way to go.
Man Purse for GTab
It's A Satchel!
I have an old bag that used to hold a now non-functional cordless screwdriver case that fits the Gtab well. Not nearly as nice as some of those listed here but the price was right and it does the job. It is certainly "manly" enough with the "Black and Decker" logo emblazened on the side. Haha.
Man Purse, LOL.

Just got this for an upcoming trip. Fits the GTab like a glove. Handy side pocket works great for my G2.
I've loved this topic. I ended up getting the Swissgear bag with a sling type strap from Target. It fits the Gtab perfectly. I'm using it as a purse (I'm not a man) and on days I want to take the tab with me, I just slide it in the back zippered pocket and take it on the go,

where are the cases??

When are they going to come out with some after market sleeves/cases???? I want to spend some money but no one wants to take it. Company's new the TF was coming out for months.
well the short answer is that there aren't any "official" cases for the TF other than the Asus produced sleeve case. after reading reviews and hands-on impressions, i think the case is way overpriced and not all that great. if they charged $15 or $20 for the case, i think more would buy it.
that being said, check this thread a few posts down for the list of compatible cases. i'm in the same boat in that my TF is actually being delivered today and i wont have a case for it. i'm debating on going to walmart or BB or something and just getting a zippered sleeve netbook case just to hold me over until something better comes out. i'll be walking around with the tablet and really fearful of scratching it or dropping it
Well, there are no official ones but other vendors are starting to put transformer in the title of their products as sign of compatibility?

Any cheap case for a 10" netbook will fit fine ;P
well i'm really wanting a portfolio case as i will be using my TF mainly for work purposes at the office. my company bought me one to use, so im wanting to carry this thing to meetings and what not...and i dont want to use a messenger bag thingy to do it.

yeah i posted there on the last page asking for tips on the kindle dx cases but havent heard from anyone yet. i think im just going to buy a netbook sleeve/zipper case, and then when a true folio case comes out for the TF, i'll just take my netbook sleeve back to the store and return it.

Currently the only folio-type case is the official Asus case. It's a mixed bag -- functionally, it's perfect, exactly what you want from a tablet case. However, it is pricey, and doesn't appear to be built from $40 worth of materials But, it's all we have right now as far as cases built specifically for the TF.
im in the similar situation as someone above.
my TF is delivered today, but i dont have any protection for it. Might just run to Ross and see if i score on a netbook pouch.
what id really like is a silicone skin to guard the back of the unit and a screen shield..
i can then just store it in a case/pouch

Sleeve that fits the transformer best

I just got a transformer last week and I really don't like any of the folio cases available but want to have some kind of protection for when I throw it in my bag. So I was looking into sleeve cases on amazon but reading the reviews people were saying they didn't fit too well, having 1-2" of space so it moves around a lot. Are there any sleeves out there that are specifically made for the transformer or at least fit it decently?
Hmm, maybe I'm cheap but for that, I'd probably just pad it with a towel or a custom cut piece of foam.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk
I have this one. Fit the TF perfectly + some pockets for accessories.

the asus transformer is 27.1cm by 17.7cm I believe and surprisingly when I was looking for cheaper opinions on ebay it was the cheap as chips option that seemed to be sized as best 'fitted' for the asus's dimensions (in my opinion at least)
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/150672438...X:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649#ht_3393wt_1085
I suppose if it works for what a person needs it for don't knock the 'cheap as chips' ness factor of it!

That's exactly what I was looking for, you have that case then?
I bought this one. Fits perfectly. Adds a zipper side pocket for the charger. Handles have velcro to keep the together. Has 2 plastic pouches inside made for SD cards. The handles come in handy if carrying other things.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-Neopr...ltDomain_0&hash=item4cfbac6575#ht_1902wt_1189
Plus it is super cheap. The quality is about 8/10 as the zippers are just a little tough. For the price it can't be beat.
@ FlyingToilets - yes, I've just bought that one as extra extra protection - you can't really going too wrong with something that costs 2 quid
I've also bought this one as a main case (http://www.yourpoetic.com/android-t.../black-slimbook-asus-eee-cases-and-covers.asp) for about £13 at amazon as the main case (the other case I plan to house the asus+portfolio case and a stylus)
I really wanted to get this one (http://www.yourpoetic.com/android-t...ducts/black-red-asus-eee-cases-and-covers.asp) but it is a bit too much in the uk currently
I've only just ordered these so I don't know how good they will be but I'll try and let you know when they arrive!
I got this one for my Transformer and I love it!
Blurex (cant post links yet), just google blurex asus transformer case
Its slim, fits nicely, and feels great. It also lets me easily attach the keyboard while its open, but its not quite large enough to close around while the keyboard is attached and closed, which I don't really mind.
I just picked up a Transformer on Friday night, so just wanted something cheap for the time being to carry it in. There was a sleeve in the Best Buy ad today so I decided to pick one up. I'm very happy with it for $6.
I can't post links yet, but either look at the BB ad or search their website for "HP sleeve" and you'll find it.
I bought that el-cheapo ebay case.
1) Fit - it fits the transformer very well indeed. The long dimension is just right, absolutely would not want to be any less as it's a bit tight to flip the lid on. The short dimension is just fractionally more than would be a really tight fit, but it's so close that you really could regard it as made for the transformer (tab only, I doubt it would fit with the dock).
2) Finish - not so great. Seriously, what do you expect for the price? Within about 3 days some stitching gave way on the red piping , leaving it coming loose from the neoprene. I have repaired it by hand as at the price it really is not worth arguing it out with the seller.
3) Both of the above combine to mean that you need to be careful putting the case on and taking it off your tablet, as it's easy to pull the lid too hard and potentially break some stitching as you stretch the lid over the end of the tablet.
Overall... I am looking for a messenger bag style case for my transformer (and not liking anything I've seen except a couple of crumplers that, as much as I love their products, I am not prepared to pay for. In the meantime, this sleeve provides excellent value for my tablet around the living room and in my laptop bag.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00565T3ZW/ref=oh_o00_s00_i00_details
I am got this one here and I have been very happy with it. It fits perfectly and allows me to stand it up at an angle.

Simple bag/carry case for 7.7?

I'm highly considering getting one as my primary phone, and I was originally considering the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, but it being able to (barely) fit in my pockets seems to be the only advantage over the 7.7.
However, since I can't fit it in my pocket, a good bag would be necessary (I'd use a Bluetooth headset and a Bluetooth watch to handle calls/texts). I can't seem to find a decent one that would provide easy access to the 7.7 without being too flimsy/unprotective or too large/bulky. Being able to fit the official 7.7 keyboard dock without adding too much bulk to the bag would be a nice plus, although certainly not necessary. It's kinda disappointing that Samsung doesn't have an official one (at least AFAIK), let alone having partnered with some company to provide one.
If all else fails, I'll try and track down a Chrome Minimalist bag (or see if my local Chrome store would be willing to custom-make one), since the faux-fur lining on the inside and high-quality bag strap are both nice features, even if it'd be a little big for the tablet.
Go look at a good womans purse store. Thats ware my woman got one for me. I looked all over the place and couldent find a good one and she found a real nice leather one with acc. pockets and it is realy well built.

Not that it's a bad idea, but I'm looking for something a bit more professional-looking, and something with a strap comfortable/big enough to go across my chest like a messenger bag.
I've seen some sling-type camera bags that are just the right size and don't look too sporty. Try some camera sites like Adorama.
I have a bag that i bought during my days using the Samsung Q1U UMPC that I still use that was originally made for portable gaming systems like the PSP. It looks like a little backpack, though.
I can recommend this to you:

It fits the tab perfectly and still leaves room for accessoires, your keys and stuff. Also you can choose from various colors or even leather.

They seem like nice bags...but unfortunately it doesn't seem like they're available to be shipped to the US (should have mentioned that detail) =/
This is the bag that I use. Was given to me as a gift from some family friends over in Italy. It's the perfect size for the 7.7, and is very useful.

Isn't eastpak u.s. company? Every eastpak product that I own says "eastpak u.s.a." on it. Oo
my wife gave me this very nice leather man purse on my birthday, to save me from heart attack due to my forgetfulness

Fits the 7.7 very well at front pocket, 10.1 at the main pocket and 8.9 at the back pocket.
More than 10 pockets in total to put in your cables, memory cards, card readers, external battery pack, a swiss army knife, pen, cleaning cloth, adapters, chargers and etc

It certainly does look nice, but not to sound picky (and I know this will sound picky anyway), but I'm not a fan of leather, and I certainly don't need that much space (one tablet alone is enough =P).
Isn't the tab too big as a phone...

STM Bags
I use this one, an STM Alley Small bag, it's really for a macbook 13" but the end result is the Gtab only takes uphalf the compartment so there is room for some other stuff. STM also makes various smaller bags; I've had 2 STM bags, and they are solid and well built.

I understand that this tread is not active anymore but thought I could share this carry case that I bought for about $20.

It's used to carry my mobile phone, charger and 7.7" tablet or my HP Touchpad. I like the style, padding and it's well made.
Since we already have the Ipad Mini which is essentially the same size as out Tab 7.7 I'm also hunting for a leather slip-in pouch made for the Ipad. So far my trips to the shops are unfruitful, at least I saw a lot of Neoprene ones.
