Okay so i loaded up Tazz's CM6 Froyo V3 only to find my A2SD wouldnt work on it. Never having used Nandroid RESTORE before i chose a Evil Eris 2.0.1 backup i had. restored. And i'm stuck in a boot loop.
So i battery pull. And flash the 2.0.1 like i normally would any other ROM. well im still stuck in a boot loop...... can anyone help me????
I rooted a friends eris today and flashed senseable and got stuck in a boot loop. It was a refurb with the 1.49 bootloader so I decided to put the engineered bootloader (1.49.2000 or whatever it is) on it then I installed the original root rom via fastboot and it booted up normally. Could be different circumstances though.
Sent from my leaked rooted HTC Droid Eris with Sense-Able 3.1 using Swype.

If you are still able to access the recovery menu try to do a Data / Factory Wipe and a Dalvik-Cache Wipe. once done load a different ROM onto your sd card and flash or try your nandroid backup again. if you are still having issues PM me or find me on irc.andirc.net #droideris, or the web client chat.andirc.net
Hey, i have an rooted HTC Hero with froyo 2.2 VillianROM.
I've found a ROM on xda and wanted to put it on. so i'd copied the zip file to the sdcard. Entered Recovery mode (my recovery image is the ps3 hackable image for jailbreaking) update went good, so i've selected the reset my device. Htc Hero logo's come up, and then the boot animation with HTC Quietly Brilliant Comes up. Animation goes smooth, and it is HERE that the problems occurs. Afterwards the phone is stuck in this mode, and it have been stock for more than an hour!
So what do i do now? Install a new ROM?
Sorry if there's a thread similar to this.

Try to download this ROM one more time and put it on your sdcard again. Then try to flash your Hero with this ROM. Maybe sth went wrong during downloading file.
If this won't help, try another ROM.

I can't put any files on my Micro SD Card. Tried to enter recovery mode and re-install the same ROM again but didn't work. Same problem as the last one.
Copy ROM file on sd without using phone - put card in card reader in your PC. Did you make full wipe?
Didn't make full wipe, have found a floyo ROM and installed it buy using my freinds htc desire i was able to switch the sdcard's so that he could copy the files to the card. (this time i wiped the device)
ohh wait... IT'S ALIVE! just in this moment it worked!
Always make backup and full wipe before flashing different ROM

When you say a backup do you refer to the nandroid backup
he indeed is referring to nandroid, i never do it cuss im a flasher like mad, so i set up a new rom in minutes.
But backup then do a full wipe, including dalvik, and then install the new rom, even if its the same base, just full wipe, my advice.
When i try to do a nandroid backup, it takes foreverto do i'll always end up taking the battery out...
thats why i dont do backups on my phone, not the patience
Hehe
but atleast my phone works now!
i never have problem while doing nandroids.
how long does it takes your phone to the the nandroid backup?

Hello!
I have a similar problem.
After flashing a 2.2 rooted rom (can't remember which one), i wanted to return bak to SenseHero 2.1 b5, but it always gets into boot loop.
First i tried nand restore-didn't work, then full wipe and flash again-didn't work.
Then i tried other 2.1 rooted roms (Kimera, cronos droid), but always end up in loop at boot.
Only 2.1 roms I can boot into are villain, modaco which I do not really like, and STOCK 2.1.1 rom which is terrible. I want SenseHero 2.1 back, or CronosDroid
I did a full wipe before flashing 2.2, I always do full wipe before flashing ROMs so I don't know what's the problem.
Even tried adding flykernel 10/11c over fresh sense hero 2.1 flash, but didn't help.
I think that the problem startet when I flashed new recovery 1.7.0.1, but i reverted back to 1.6.2, and flashed sense hero, but it didn't change anything.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks!
Don't think that the recovery image-change has anything to do with it. I had an ps3 recovery image (for jailbreaking) and i was able to get into the phone from there.
i putted a new rom on to the sdcard, totatlly wiped the device, installed the rom, and reseted the device (i did tough this proces serveral times before it finally booted up!)
I have a samsung fascinate that I've had for a week. I rooted a few days ago then installed the orange clockwork. Since doing alot of reading I then installed the red "all" clockwork and then installed the stock leaked froyo rom. Everything worked fine. I have 2 backups of the eclair and just made one of froyo. I decided I wanted to go back to eclair and it will not restore. It just gets stuck at the samsung logo for over 30 minutes. None of my backups will restore, eclair or froyo. I've tried several times. I have the red clockwork recovery which is suppose to be the "all" one that I flashed with Odin. It says CwM Voodoo Lagfix recovery v2.5.1.x. Is this the wrong clockwork? I have not installed any voodoo or lagfix of any kind. When I try to restore my nandroid backup this is what I do, wipe data/factory reset, then wipe cache partition, then wipe dalvik cache, then restore my backup. I'm coming from a droid incredible which was a piece of cake to back up and restore and those are the steps needed to do a restore on it. Do I need to do something different with the samsung? It won't even get past the samsung logo when I do a factory reset in clockwork. I don't know how to get to the stock recovery to do a factor reset from there. The only way I can get the phone back working is to install froyo thru clockwork using install from sd card.
I have noticed that everytime I try to restore a backup it never restores boot. i know it always restored boot on the incredible and i would assume it needs to with this phone too. Any suggestions as to why I can't restore a backup or even do a factory reset??

For whatever reason I typed captivate instead of fascinate. I'll edit that.
Another thing I noticed this morning is even after doing several data wipe/factory reset and then installing the leaked froyo I still have all my apps installed and even my non g mail email account is already set up, this should not be. Does anybody have any clue what I'm doing wrong?? I would really like the ability to restore back ups with this phone.

There was an issue with specific versions of CWM that might be your issue?

I read thru that and he doesn't have a link for the Odin package so I don't know how I'm suppose to do what he says. Maybe I just need to unroot, get rid of CWM and go back to complete stock and start the root and CWM process all over.
There should be an odin package still in Jt's link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=942021
It was updated at the end of march and worked for me this morning when I did a reset back to DL09 and up...
"Q: After I enter CWM, it says I am at version 2.5.1.x. Does that mean I'm on the correct version?
Unfortunately, the last several updates have been minor bugfixes, and the version number has stayed at 2.5.1.x. Hopefully this will be remedied soon. An easy way to check is to go to "Advanced" menu. If you don't see "Enable Puzzle LockScreen", then you are on the newest version (this menu option was removed because it has not been functional for a long time)."
Is the bit I was referring to, should help you figure out if you have the right CWM.
The CWM I had still has the enable puzzle lock screen. I just flashed the tar file in the link you just gave me with odin and it still has enable puzzle lock screen. What am I doing wrong?
Ok so after I flashed the tar from the link you gave me I did a restore from a nandroid backup and it worked fine. I'm totally confused but hey it worked. I thought the latest cwm shouldn't have the enable puzzle lock screen?? And does all this mean I just didn't have the latest cwm version??
Wish I could tell you there, someone with a smarter head on their shoulders might know.
I just checked my own CWM that I flashed from the tar this morning and I do not have the puzzle lock. Can't tell you much more than that.
That makes no sense. Oh well. Thanks for the help!!
newer fascinates are stock loaded with the puzzle lock screen
Hi, stupid question here from a relative noob....
I have a Cincinnati Bell Vibrant, that I recently flashed CM7 on (after using Rom Manager to backup up my stock rom). Liked it, but found it too battery-intensive, so I booted into clockworkmod recovery and attempted to restore the backup of my stock rom. It failed on flashing the boot image, and now my phone is stuck on the Vibrant screen, and won't boot. None of the hardware combinations to get into recovery mode are working, but I can get it into download mode. Before I screw things up further, what is the best way to go from here to get the backup restored, or is it even possible at this point?
Thanks

This doesn't sound too bad. Basically you want to Odin back to stock. Then reflash the rom you were on, then you can reboot back into recovery and restore your backup. If voodoo was enabled on your backup make sure voodoo is enabled again before restoring(it might work either way, but I'm not sure). When I've done this, I restore a prerooted 2.2 stock Rom without changing the bootloaders, but almost any official stock rom will also work. I'm on the go, so I don't have a link handy, but post back if needed and I will point you to the odin package I use. Good luck.
I also am having some issues with Clockworld recovery. The problem i am having is that when doing a nandriod backup this is the error i am recieving
"E:cant mount /dev/block/mmcblk1p1 (or @)
Cant mount /mnt/sdcard
any suggestions on whats going on?

Are you sure the sdcard is good? If so then I would follow the same steps listed above, that way you know your CWR is good.

yes it is good because i can see all the videos, pics i have saved in it. Also i put the new ROM on my internal sd card and its there so sd card is def good. What could be causing the problem?
To the op, I would use Odin, no real worries there.
To the other guy with sdcard issue, try moving all files to your PC, format your sdcard, reboot, move files back, flash cwr in ROM mgr, backup work? Move critical files back from PC.

Thanks...that's exactly what I did, except the backup would never quite "take." It completely loaded and cycled through the boot process, but I ended up on a boot-restore loop. So now I've Odin-ed back to stock with the closest build I could find to my stock (which I don't think is out there yet - FROYO.UVJL6.ULTIMOBILE - do you know anywhere to find it?), rooted, and am searching for a good, stable, battery-friendly mod once again.

i did try formatting, then moving all the stuff back and am still getting that same error message
^ what rom are you on, if one?
You could always ODIN, and use my option b cwr in the noob guide. I just tested making a backup using trigger 8/22 and know there are no issues. Not really sure whats up on your end. I will say though, I've emailed koush several times that there is an issue with cwr on the vibrant from rom manager, for some it won't even flash.

hey guys, first post here: i just bought the atrix 4g, got it in the mail today, used the 1-click rooter to unlock the bootloader, then to root. then i installed cyanogenmod 9- i followed instructions appropriately, but the phone hangs at the motorola logo screen at boot-up and does nothing more. i tried re-flashing, fixing permissions, clearing dalvik cache, nothing works.
edit- i installed cyanogenmod9 through clockworkmod, by installing zip from internal
i was going to re-flash stock rom, but i cant get internal storage to mount from clockworkmod (no sd card), so i cant get the stock file over to the phone to flash, so im bricked.
any thoughts/advices? thanks in advance, after not having a phone for near a week, id kinda like to make a call

You bricked your phone, not cyanogenmod ...
Restore a backup, your phone should work.
hm, can anyone tell me, why i cant get internal storage to mount from clockworkmod? is this a common problem?
i dont understand what went wrong for me, when i followed the same steps that many others did.

Your phone is not a paperweight, just not boot the operating system
You did a backup with CWM? restore a backup as Emerson says
You can borrow a sd card copy there CM7 and install from the sdcard
You can also use RDS to install a stock rom
Never install a rom without having an one that you know works 100%
AND ALWAYS READ ALL FAULTS AND SOLUTIONS BEFORE INSTALLING A CUSTOM ROM
ok guys, i went and bought an sd card, clockworkmod mouted it fine, i found and copied over to the sd card android 2.34 for atrix, it flashed fine and my phone is back up.
can you gentleman tell me, whats a good solid rom to flash? cyanogen mod 9 obviously didnt work for me. id like to get started setting up the phone, so i need a good rom to begin with.
thanks to everyone in advance
Go with montouri's version of cm7.2 ,mrom-Olympus you can find it in the developer section. Its my daily driver. Its the most stable and has the best battery life out of all the roms that I've tried
motoxrcr1 thanks for the recommendation, running m-rom now and it runs smooth.
the first time i tried to install it, it hung at the boot logo, then i got to thinking maybe i better try updating clockworkmod, turned out that clockworkmod 4.0X that was installed by the 1-click rooter, is rather old, so i found and updated to 5.XX. tried re-flashing m-rom again, and it worked fine that time.
older clockworkmod, that's probably what caused my original problem with cyanogenmod 9..
does mrom support overclocking? not that i guess i need it, but just to know for future reference
thanks!
the trouble i caused myself, was all due to flashing the rom from an older version of clockworkmod.. after updating to a newer version 5.xx, it flashed fine
