Cannot change phone language - Optimus One, P500, V General

Hello,
I'm new to this forum and new to the p500 (well, actually I don't have the phone myself but both my daughter and son got one for Christmas).
First of all, we live in Norway and we have trouble making Norwegian the default language on one of the phones.
On initial startup, we were asked in German to enter PIN, then we chose Norwegian from the list of languages. So far so good. After being off overnight, when we turn on the phone we're asked in German to enter PIN, after that the phone language is Swedish (!). We enter "Settings", "Locale and text", "Choose language" and then Norwegian. After that everything is fine until the phone is turned off and on again, when it reverts back to German and Swedish.
On the other phone where we have no problems it says "Norwegian" under "Choose language", on the problem phone it says nothing here regardless of language chosen, so it looks like the chosen language is not "remembered".
I've done a factory reset, to no avail.
Setting the language each time the phone is switched on is a bit boring so I really hope someone on this forum knows a solution to this.

Popup on Dialer

Hi,
I have a ZTE N986 (Android 4.2.1) phone, it has dual SIM mode (CDMA & GSM) and I use them both.
Everytime I want to make a call using the GSM, there's this popup appears : http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=o7sg93&s=5
With a little research, I find that it appears only if I use local number format in my country (Indonesia, which like "0211234567". Three first digits is Jakarta code by the way.) It doesn't show if I use international format (e.g. +62211234567).
Now it reads "China" in greyed box on top, I think it has to do with locale settings, so I change my language settings to Bahasa Indonesia but it doesn't work. I even done rooting in order to use MoreLocale app but it doesn't work either. And I can't find any settings or any app relating this popup.
Honestly it's not a big deal, I can still make a call by tapping "local call" on the popup, but you know, time I spend to solve this rather than, like change my contacts phone number format makes me even more curious.
Please help me, thanks in advance

[Q] Encryption disables fingerprint, & Japanese firmware

Hi,
I've been using the Max for a few days and have very much enjoyed the fingerprint feature, however, since enabling storage encryption two days ago this feature now seems to have been disabled: the option has disappeared from the settings and sliding my finger has no effect, is this intended?
Also, a quick second question, I had my phone imported to the UK from the USA, upon receiving it the language was in Japanese, I've changed it to English, but when rebooting, the encryption password dialog is still in the default language, and there is also some Japanese bloatware on the phone that I can't remove, is it possible to flash the phone to a European/American variant?
Thanks.

More languages

I live in Czech Republic. When I select on the phone primary language EN and secondary CZ, then "OK, Google" works well but if I would to response to the text, then the czech text is not recognized by the watch but if I try the same on the phone, it works well (I can speak czech and the text is recognized well).
If I select only CZ language, the the watch recognizes text well but the voice commands are not working.
Any recommendations?
Thanks

Voice to text greyed out on gear s keyboard

The microphone icon is greyed out on my gear s keyboard and I can't use voice to text which was a great feature on my gear 2 for sending quick texts. Does anyone know how to fix this?
I'm sure it isn't this but. ... If you're disconnected from the phone you'll need mobile data enabled on the G S
Also look in the keyboard settings in the gear s settings/language menu.

I'm connected to my phone 99% of the time with Bluetooth and have my mobile data set to auto. Went through keyboard settings on gear s and didn't find anything
And you've already opened and set up S-Voice on the connected phone?
Yes, I use s voice frequently on my phone
In the watch settings for Keyboards and Input do you have the Samsung keyboard selected?
Yes and the microphone is greyed out on all 3 of the Samsung keyboards on the device
(Fix) microphone greyed out
I had this same issue... Samsung was no help. The problem is that the default language on the Gear S doesnt match your default language on your phone.
On the watch... you can't manually change the default language under settings-language and input. On your phone... go to settings-language and input. Check the very top bar. That language needs to be set to United States or another language that s-voice recognizes. In my case, the watch was stuck on (Canada) but my Note 3 didn't have a "Canada" option.
Assuming that you are using a Samsung phone...download Language Enabler from the Play Store...load English United States and set as your default. The watch will automatically change and everything will work. Hope that helps.
That app needs root unfortunately but I do see that the language on the gear s is English Canada and in the s voice app on the phone it is English us
Any other ideas?

I'm having the same issue as you. Wish there was an answer to this.
Me 2, still haven't figured it out
OK, here is the solution.
When I was having the same issue, my phone language was set to English (Australia), S Voice on my phone was set to English (US), language on my watch was set to English (Australia) and S Voice on my watch was set to English (AU). I changed them all to English (US) as there is no English (AU) for S Voice, and the mic works.

I have changed everything to English us but on the watch it won't let me change the language, it says English Canada but you can't select it to change it.
I think there are 2 different gear s models, the sm-r750w which is for Canada and the sm-r750 for the US which might explain why I can't change the language on the watch, even tried a factory reset with no luck.

Thanks, this solved it for me, except I used English UK for all settings and now works fine. this was driving me mad and wishing I had an Android Wear based watch. Still S Voice has a bit to go to be as good as Google Now/Voice.
I am new here but have switched all electronics to Samsung and good so far although I am having the same problem. I tried to switch the language to english UK except on s voice on gear s as it does not show up as a language option. I tried to go to gear app on my note 4 and download the uk option and it does not show up in the Samsung app? Is there a way to find it or is there another language that will support the mic option?
Thanks!
