Many apps force portrait mode, and the default places the power button at the bottom. I found it too easy to hit power by bumping it against my arm or chest while reading.
Is there a way to flip the default orientation by 180°?
I'm running TnT lite.
Old post bump, having same problem, just got a gtablet.
I'm running Vegantab.
Honeycomb will lock in portrait mode, I use it for reading all the time. That's one of my favorite things about it

Depends which launcher you have. Vtl launcher you need to go to settings and allow 180 rotation.
Apps natively have portrait mode with the soft keys on the top and the power button on the bottom
Is there a way to change that?

My home screen is going into landscape and I don't know why,I'm completely stock no root and on 2.2 downloaded from keis, it has done it 3 different times and the only way to get it back to normal is to power off. Is this an option or is something wrong with my phone?

This is usually something that you get with custom launchers such as launcher pro. or adw
I don't have any custom launchers, and now it is stuck permanently, tried power down, battery pull, and nothing any screen that can rotate is stuck on landscape, I'm thinking about a factory reset but that's a pain in the ass, any help is appreciated

Try disabling screen auto rotate in the settings. If it stays in landscape I don't know what to tell you. If it goes back to portrait then great.
Thanks I tried that one already, I'm getting frustrated I can't type in landscape, I'm thinking about reloading 2.2

i would just reset.
If that doesn't work you might have a bad sensor. Reflashing the ROM will probably fix it though.
Is it just the homescreen that is stuck in landscape or is it everything?
Its everything, messaging , app drawer everything, it changed back today and a few hours later its stuck again

As you can read in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1437656
The livedock enables the homescreen to be in landscape mode.
I was wondering if someone could find out how we can get landscape mode without the dock? I think if it's possible with dock it should also be possible without the dock in some way?
Same on hdmi
Cool

So if you put hdmi cable in the phone the homescreen is in landscape mode?
Is there not a developer who can find out how to enable it without hdmi/dock connected?
Maybe an app so the phone thinks a hdmi cable is connected?
Install GoLauncherEx.

Well I really love the SE launcher
Edit:
Ok, i found an amazing app:

If you force it to landscape mode you will have homescreens in landscape, app drawer, in-call screen, ...
It's an amazing app.
Only the lockscreen stays in portrait mode.
Must have app for the people who use their phone in the car in landscape mode!

Whoops. Lack of focus.
I believe the devs are already working on it :good::fingers-crossed::laugh:
I believe paranoid let's you choose which apps you want in tablet mode.
Why would you want onscreen buttons when you already have physical buttons? Seems like a waste of screen space to me.

On screen buttons allow navigation using the spen on non touchwiz ROMs.

First, yes paranoid allows you to choose DPI, tablet mode, and large screen per app.
Second, it has an optional nav bar, but...
Third, it supports spen gestures.
I recommend it.

I have been looking everywhere but I still have yet to find anything. I have a galaxy note 2 and I enabled the on screen buttons, disabled the capacitive buttons and would love to remap the hardware home button to open !utter while my on screen buttons work normally fine. Is there anyway I can do this? I have tried button remapper but there's no option for apps only core functions such as home, back, menu, etc.

Nova Launcher
try the Nova Launcher app. I'm too new to be allowed to post a link to it...
I would love to attach a screenie.....but it happens so randomly and only lasts a second.
Im presuming that the function is built in because the screen doesnt look all messed up. So does anyone know how to turn Landscape lockscreen on?
Ove looked through the setting but cant see anything? Perhaps im just being a tard?

Android at its core can support a landscape lockscreen. There are a few apps out there that force rotation even when the app doesn't think it should support it. For example, the Netflix app is ALWAYS portrait when in the menu and ALWAYS landscape during video playback, but I used to use an app called "Ultimate Rotation Control", and it allowed it to do the menu in landscape and the video in portrait. I think the same sort of thing would work for you here, but I must admit that it's been a long time since I've used a lockscreen, so I don't know for sure.
Thanks. Ill take a look.
