Hi,
After a long search i decided to ask about this. So far i've managed to find that adding "tmail" to change screen allows you to rotate the normal messages as you want, but this doesn't work for htc messages.
My question is does anybody know what i need to put into ChangeScreen in order to have the htc messages rotate.
Cheers.

I don't particularly want to have my phone locked and needing a password to get in, but at the same time, there are messages from some people I would feel better that someone who found my Hero couldn't read.
Is there any way to 'hide' messages received from certain contacts?
Did you ever get this sorted? As I am trying to do the same thing.
This apps purports to do what you want:

I've no idea if it works as advertised.

Thanks for suggestion, having looked at it I realised I miss read the original post.
I was trying to stop the first line of the text mesage showing on the lock screen or task bar when it is received. For example, on Winmo there is a checkbox for 'display message on screen', I have it unticked so I have to go into messages to read it.
Dont suppose anyone knows how to do that?
Sorted
Just in case there was anyone else wanting to do the same as me, I found an app on the marketplace called SMS Popup that does it.
Actually Handcent SMS does a better job.
hi all,
actually i never want to make a new thread for this, but i've searched for all related post regarding this problem, and i got nothing. Well, the closest solution that i've found is the Zenyee's disable htc messaging interface application, but even that is not working for me.
the problem is the sms messages display in chronological manner, even though of course the threaded messaging option is "ON" by default. This problem only occur if you open the sms by using the manila sms interface (or directly by tap the sms tab), but if you open the sms conversation by using the WM, it looks just fine. I know, maybe it's a porting bug that hasn't been able to be solve (or maybe it isn't).
I just wanna know if anybody has a same problem with me. If yes, what have you done to solve this problem? and one more thing, is there anyway to change the shortcut of the sms tab, so when you tap the sms tab, it takes you to the WM sms display, instead of taking you to the manila sms interface?
i'm using ROMeOS V3.O1 WWE. WM 6.5 . MANILA 2
i'm really thankful and appreciate for all the response to this post.
I want to find a way to delete an email immediately when I see it come in - right from the notification drawer pull-down. Same thing for SMS / text messages. Often, if it is a spam email or a Google Voice reminder for a meeting, I want to just delete it, but instead I have to launch the respective program and delete it from there.
I'm running LiquidSmooth right now, but I'm not aware that any ROM has this functionality. Any other hacks or ways to do this?
Thanks.
i would also like to know this.
Hi all,
Sorry if this has been asked before but I've searched around and I think the keywords are a little too generic to find what I'm trying to do.
When I'm using the messaging application (SMS) to speak to somebody else on an Android phone it keeps switching between SMS and 'chat'. It flicks between the two and slows the phone down, plus I don't really want delivery notifications or anything like that. I just want to send good old fashioned text messages. I have also found that 'chat' can be quite flakey, I have sent a few 'chat' messages to a friend who received them all 12 hours later. I'm constantly having to tap the menu and press 'Switch to SMS'. Irritating...
I've gone through the settings in the messaging application but I can't find any way to disable 'chat' all together. Am I missing something blindingly obvious here?
Thank you
Hello Everyone,
I currently use stock ZVA from sprint and don't like the lock screen very much. I don't like the fact that if i get multiple sms it only tells me that I have the messages and can't get a preview of what the message says. Same with gmail. I find that the way that ios does it is pretty good so does anyone have recommendation on something that does it similar to ios or at least makes it so i can get previews of all the messages and not just a number count.
