download PdaNet from the market and download the client to the pc.
use USB tether to connect to the internet using usb connection from the x10.

Yes u can its possible with that. PDAnet and barnacle wifi tether work. I have both. Your phone must be rooted for barnacle wifi tether though.
There not in the market so u have to find the downloads through google search

I understand, the reply is a way too late.
But the post is about getting your mobile (X10 mini) to connect to internet, when the PC is already having a working internet connection.
The above two methods allow you to connect your PC to Internet with your mobile as the gateway.
I am also looking for a way to use a PC as a gateway to connect an android mobile to internet via USB connectivity.
If there is someone out there who knows of a way, please help.

i think you are pertaining to reverse tethering via usb cable.. hmmmm, ive heard alot bout this but as far as i know this is still a xxxxxx
not sure about wired connection, but u cn use a hotspot software and share ur pc connection via wi-fi hotspot..that way u can use it by jst connecting ur phone to wi-fi.
This reverse tethering is hard for me. Thats why i urge users to use wifi for easy connection. That is the easiest method and it is fast too.

With the USB I presume that is not possible.
But you can connect using the wireless.
In this case, the phone connects to the internet using 3G or similar and you connect you computer to the phone using wifi wireless connection.

Search for tethering in the market.
EasyTether seams to be very good. And no root needed.
I use Barnacle wifi to set up an adhoc wifi network, works great and is free, but does require root.

It is possible with easy tether app. I use it. With the free version one can access all free sites. For secured sites one need to have the paid version. Its very easy to setup.

Install kies, install usb driver from kies menu, connect phone with cable and let windows do the installation thing, then start usb tethering from phone menu.

i had a htc wildfire S and it has an option "Relais internet" it appears auto when usb cable connected. it connects my phone to computers internet.
Iam really so disappointed to don't see this feature on SGS2
and PLZZZZZZZZZ for people who ask why don't use wifi.

ad-hoc network can't be detected also with my sgs2 with official firmware JB 4.1.2 (XWLSD)

Well there was a "reverse tether" app...
I had it but haven't tried it anytime coz I don't have internet on my PC anymore...so don't know for sure if it works..
It might just work for you...
I know this is very frustrating..has happened to me too when I had just purchased the phone...hadn't got any solution at that time so ended up purchasing a WiFi router..

I am using connectify to share the internet connection of PC to my phone through wifi. It is free and you can download it and try! I am happy with the above said software as i am flashy. whenever i flash new ROM and sync with internet of PC through connectify and all my data is back in just couple of minutes.
Through USB cable......I still dont know the solution!

What you are looking for is called Tethering.
You can enable and configure it on your phone in
menu => Settings => Wireless and Network => Tethering and Mobile Hotspot =>
a) USB Tethering, if you want to be connected via USB to your PC, or
b) Configure mobile WLAN hotspot, if you want to connect your PC via WLAN with your phone.
There is also a short help in this settings menu.

So, it is tethering the other way round.
My idea: install and configure a WLAN hotspot on your PC.
I do not know any solution to get it done by using USB cable.

Its very easy just share your internet connection via wifi over your place and connect to internet on your x10mp via wifi.......
Can I do it with cable and USB connect?

Reverse Tethering AFAIK is still unstable and not fully working, yet probably not even compatible with our phones. You need to get Wifi connection instead.
