Which is the best Vibrant rom? - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Developer section is littered with posts and I dont want to go through and read a ****load of threads and 100+ pages.
Im currently running an older version of Bionix but Im wanting to see if there is a 100% working and stable 2.2 or possible 2.3 for our phone.
Can anyone link me to the good ****?

The good **** is in the Developers forum.
You don't have to read 100+ pages. Try reading the OP of some of the ROM threads. They clearly state whether a ROM is stable or experimental. As for which is best... A quick use of the search function would have turned up a bunch of "which ROM is better" threads.. Your answer can be found there.

I like Eugene's Ginger Clone Final r2. Fast as ****.
fF

Try every one of them. Whichever you like and runs smooth on your phone is the best rom.

Damn, this again? The same question pops up every week. Why don't I just go to the search.bar up top and search. Sorry to sound rude, but quit being lazy and try researching first.

Try Nero v3

I personally like PepperKake V2 Nexus S Clone. These roms are all a personal preference and you need to try them out for yourself and decide which is best for you.

I was an Axura homer myself

Nero v3 easily, 100 percent working, no need to wait for an update. 2.2 rom with a 2.3 feel and a few 2.3 perks. See my post for available mods and lots of testimonials and pics, i feel ya man, there is too much to sort through when you're starting from nothing http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=888863

Agreed. Nero 3 is very awesome especially with voodoo 5. Throw in the new ADW Launcher EX and its hands-down the best rom for vibrant.

That is great , im using it right now . Fast as hell .

I have used a lot of different ROMs and I love Axura out of all.

Nero 3, ived tried alot of roms and nero is just simple the best! Excellent battery life! And its super snappy!

the stock deodexed JL5 that is cwm flashable is the best.
Then you can manually remove any aps you dont want. Comes with touchwiz but you can install adw launcher, launcherpro, zeam, whatever.
I am a fan of the stock.

Flash and test all of them yourself. We have no idea what you prefer and we are not mind readers.
Everyone just ignore these types of posts
OP,
this section is purely for development and not general questions. You can try asking this in the Q&A section but I would refine your question to include what you like in a rom? Are you looking for a stockish 2.2, fast, minimal tocuhwiz, no touchwiz, etc...

I will say this question has been asked a million times. It's user preference. It all depends on what YOU like. Take a look at the android development section. There are some videos on the custom ROM's. Take a look at user postings to see feedback. Educate yourself on what the developers have created.
I have flashed 4 different ROM's and used them each about 4-5 days to see what I like. Now I stick with the best!

I just got a vibrant and I'm pretty new to the forum. I'm looking to upgrade to a rom for speed. I don't know what touchwiz is so I don't care. Just as long as I have stable fast speed with some decent starting apps.
What is good rom for fast stable speed (Overclock speed)?
One with touchwiz and one without?

Touchwiz is Samsung's version of Android kinda like Motorola's Motoblur and HTC's Sense or Expresso. It includes Samsung's apps, widgets, the dialer and all the icons just to name some.
Alot of people don't like Touchwiz because they think it bogs down the phone or they don't like the look of it. Personally I like certain elements of it.
They are many roms out there but for me I go back and forth between Axura and Mancut. Currently I am on Mancut 13 because it suits me perfectly based on the look, speed, included apps and over all stability.
Axura kinda offers the same thing but his roms are more themed, either way you can't go wrong with either of them.
use macnut R13 thats what im using and its pretty good so far

Yes, you can,
you are on JFD stock.
I would go for the "TARD" rom
My favorite color is blue, so i would recommend bionix next gen(never tried it but hear alot of good things), or trigger, i think trigger was awesome. But i agree with everyone else, its good to try them all .

Bionix 1.3.1 and Project-V are your best bets for battery and style.
Bi winning V3 is an absolute beast on my phone. Best rom I've ever ran.
Bi-winning V3
custom roms for vibrant
I use bionix v1.3.1 rom by team whiskey with dragon kernel overclock to 1360mhz, so far its fast and stable

[Q] Top 10 ROMS

Since I've just started using ROMS. I was wondering, is there a list or thread of the top 10 most used/best ROMS? Thanks in advance guys!
Not sure of Top 10, All I can say, every one gets a different score or opinion for each rom. Its matterof personal preference on what you like on each rom.
Not in any order or priority, list of roms that have consistent positive feedback and updates.
Team Whiskey
Eugene
Einherjar (Multiple Devs Merged into 1)
Try Nero v4.1 with overclock kernal. This has to be number one. Very fast and stable. 65 fps, 2000+ quadrant scores, no lag issues. Its a very good rom. I'm more than impressed.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
For me I can tell you my top 3.
1. Axura 2.2.6.0 - Master
2. Nero 4.1 -Team Whiskey (good if you like overclocking)
3. Pepperkake 3.5.2 - Jelette
All 3 of these roms are fast and stable. I personally found Axura rom to work the best for my needs.

These 3 are all great, and The statement "I personally found the XXXX rom to work the best for my needs" is ultimately the bottom line...... personal choice
I use the Axura as of now, I get least amount of banding in my FFC with it and the best battery life.
Thanks for the info guys!

NERO
GingerClone
Axura
are probably the best, and most popular out currently, i use nero, but love both ginger clone and axura!
Which one gives you the best battery life?
Battery wise, axura gave me the best with no reconditioning.
Nero with reconditioning gives about an hour or less than axura, but battery life is all dependent on how u use your phone
For me, I use axura cos my gps works with it, with nero my gps doesn't.
But have to say battery life with nero is very good.
Would love to try pepperkake /eighnjar ROMs too..

I tried nero, axura, and ginger clone. I personally like ginger clone. I've never said, "i don't like...." I try the new versions of all the roms. I find myself going back to eugene ginger clone. :/

I flashed the latest version of Axura last night and I am blown away. This is my first custom ROM (coming from stock Eclair JI6) and I am loving it. It's hard to believe this was developed by enthusiasts and is available for free. (I will donate of course!)
I am sure the other ROMs are great, too. I'll be trying them soon
I would like to know which of the roms is the most stable.

me too. i'm sick of waiting for 2.2 since it looks as if samsung doesn't care about their customers so i'm looking for the most stable rom from 2.2.
guess i'll try the auxura(sp?) and see how that goes.
i assume you don't lose any apps or anything when changing the roms?
I get the best performance and battery life with Nero V4.1
Everything works flawlessly.

You LOSE all your apps and contacts unless you back them up first! Follow the Noob guide posted in this forum to back up your apps using Titanium backup.
Edit: The Axura update doesn't delete your videos and pictures that you took with the camera. I had backed those up but they were there when the new ROM loaded up
It doesn't wipe your internal or external SD card, but it does wipe all your apps. Everything on SD cards will stay exactly like they were preflash (barring certain circumstances, but I won't get into those right now. These issues are not present with any of the current roms (using stock kernels)

Trigger vs. Bionix

Okay so in terms of speed smoothness and stability what is better;!

In my opinion the Simply Galaxy is better than both. I've used all 3 roms and this one is blazing fast and responsive. I would suggest just trying all 3 and seeing which one you like the best. I have been using this rom since it came out ands there's been so many updates making it even better. Its also 2.2.1 the others aren't. Again in my opinion this one kicks ass. Good luck hope this helps.
Simply Galaxy/Sweet Honey 2.7.2
w/Overstock 1.4.2

I'm pretty sure he wants a option between the two, thanks for your opinion though.
I say Trigger, for me atleast.
Trigger just FEELS smooth. Bionix is smooth as well, i won't lie, but its the feeling..
Trigger is FAVORITE rom besides Axura and whitehawkx's GB and CM7
but to get the feel, i suggest you try them both out, because most of the people who reply will tell you its a personal opinion/option thats plays the biggest part in the rom vs rom threads.
Try em' both, flash the one you like out of them, then after a week, get something new.
I agree, Trigger........ not just smooth and very nicely done, better battery life for me. my 2-cents
Trigger is more up to date and is getting regular updates. For that reason alone I would pick Trigger. I also like it's theme better.
I dont like blue much so I flashed the ginger theme

Good upgrade on Nero v.2?

Hey I am sporting Nero v2 since December on my Vibrant, and am looking for a reliable upgrade. Anyone recommend a fairly bug free rom that is better than Nero v2 to upgrade to? Main thing is that the phone features need to be reliable... Phone calls, and SMS/MMS work. Speed an added bonus.
Thanks much for advice.
I was maybe still a hugh fan of tw but I just started flashing a lot of roms til. Came across Trigger's rom and haven't flashed anything else.
My vote is going to Trigger.
Ps..you might get some **** for not posting this in Q&A. Good luck!

Trigger is my first pick, and slap the Tiger Blood kernel on it. Then Axura, then TW Bionix. But that's just my opinion. BTW, you should read and post in the right place fam, people get hype for this kind of stuff...... I am a fan of the Tiger Blood kernel just because on my phone at least, it has given me the better battery life thus far.
Moved to Q&A. Please do not post question threads in Development.
I went from nero v5 to loki 2.4 (has been removed though) and was pleasantly impressed how well the 2.2.1 rom ran in comparison. So any of the 2.2.1 flavor roms would strongly get my vote.

In search of stable froyo rom

hey as the title says searching for a stable froyo rom for a friend he doesnt like cm7 or anything gingerbread and theres so many to choose from i dont know where to start please and thank you
There really is no Froyo rom here that isn't stable. It will all come down to personal preference. I like ZenDroid. It's smooth and has all of the non essental bloat removed. Bi-Winning v3 is also good. I tend to go between those two. Pair either of those with the Bali 1.8.8UV kernel or DragonMODz kernel, and you've got yourself a slick rom with very good battery. But there are lots of choices so it's really up to you.
Hope this helps
I have flashed every single flashable froyo and cm7/cm7 based roms that I could find on xda and I must say while I liked zendroid and have alot of repect for the developer but overall my favorite recent froyo rom is toxic crazy 8. I used the theme clean and shiny for music and toxic 8 and it is visually beatiful with themed in call screens and everything all included. Its also a super fast rom. I never disable voodoo (some will disagree with me on that) and its super quick to flas any rom within cwm so id try both and decide but make sure to get clean and shiny if you do toxic 8 its great. Ill also throw in that this is yhe first tozic I have used as a daily and even having a daily is rare for me but the dev is always helping people and he is very helpful and never rude, its really cool.

I like Project-V. I don't think I'll switch for a while. Bionix 1.3.1 is good, but the add widgets menu is too cluttered for me. With ZenDroid, I get a bunch of annoying bugs and force closes even after a fresh install from JFD. Bi-Winning wasn't my thing, only tried for a few hours. Same with Bionix NextGen.
Bionix 1.3.1 is the epitome of stable Roms. Your friend should have no problems from it.

Chalk another one up for Bionix! Used to run it and I don't think I had a single problem with it.
I have to agree with Toxic8. Been using it for a few days now after moving from Toxic7. Fantastic battery life, smooth as silk, and rock solid stable.
Whichever was explodingboy70's last updated Froyo rom. Everything worked flawlessly and it looked awesome, not to mention I was getting absurdly long battery life.
