Greetings to all the team at XDA-Developers.
I hope some of you can help me ..
It turns out that I wanted to manually modify the framework-res.apk my X10i, 2.1, root. All through the Root Explorer, and had read some tutorials, and it seemed easy.
So I support the original framework-res.apk, and proceeded to change the permissions of the new framework-res.apk, as the original.
Then move it to the folder / framework-res and Saio me a message asking permission to replace the old file with the new.
After the copying process, the phone restarts, I thought it was normal, but after the start, no boot.
Comes the announcement of Sony Ericsson, then starts the animation on but not completed, it then restarts.
I wanted to restore the original framework-res.apk but not select the mode debbug.
I can do ...??
Please I need your help soon

Ok, I flashed and
Now turns, but I have no signal......
EDIT:
Ok, it´s all right....
The bad thing is that I play again to reinstall all applications, and return to make adjustments.
But the good news is that caught
Moral: Do not make adjustments without prior notice support and
Another good thing is that I had updated as recently went to 2.1, I was in X10i,
Now I came back to take X10A .....

Hi guys i m a happy owner of X10 Mini (E10i).
I m not new to xda i have used earlier Himalaya, magician and leo.
Yesterday i was very happy to root my phone, used xrecovery, enabled jit. used app2sd. (i used seus around 10 times whenever i was bricking my phone.)
i really got performance enhancement.
All things i did in my office, i have plenty of free time in office.
When i tried to use Green Theme by Deanosoft i ended in Booting loop problem.
i forgot to take backup b4 that from xrecovery.
i went to home and tried to repair my Mini using seus. i double checked the files in Program data folder (Win 7) those 2 big files.
What i saw seus it started to download from internet.
i immediately canceled that and again did a check, files were there.
i started update again and it started to download i didnt canceled and let it download.
finally when the phone started, i rooted it and when i searched the inbuilt installer to install Root installer apk i was shocked not to see it.
what i did, i completely uninstalled the pc companion from my system. Deleted the empty folders also.
Re installed Seus
i did repair again from seus and again i was shocked not to see that installer.
any way i went ahead with rooting, installed root explorer from internet (not market) titanium backup.
as and when i opened titanium backup it asked for root access i allowed that. but it gave me error that it was not able to access root permission.
( i think i got error in root explorer also but forgot that)
i went to superuser (SOC) in my x10 mini it was saying titainum backup status allowed and logs were also saying allowed.
i restarted my mini and it worked fine.
another strange thing is that, earlier i was getting a message about root granting permission as flashing on lower part of screen but now the message is coming on the notification area of screen. and i have to clear the notification if i need to use clean screen.
i can provide any info or File names (may b new) if anybody want to compare with them.
i dont know how. but by reflashing again my problem is solved. i m so sorry for not looking back as i was busy in weekend.
So Mod please delete or close the thread as needed.

ok this is a tutorial for those people stuck on a login screen.
first-off im not a develloper (far from it)
all info here is made by others and i do not take credit for it!
credits are @ the bottom.
since this question keeps popping up all over the forum and i had a bricked se myself i used a whole bunch of "tutorials" wich all lead to nothing,
so the i started fiddling around since it was broken anyway.
let me first explain i would like to thank the community here for offering all these great tools wich allow us to modify and restore our se.
ok so when i started my phone was completly bricked.
@ 1 point i managed to install xrecovery and accidentally installed a x10 version of a update.zip file...
i managed to flash that update.zip of a x10 version to my x10 mini pro wich completly destroyed my system.
i had no chance to boot in xrecovery because i am a complete noop in installing any kind of script to a android phone.
(if i were pro i would not have bricked it to start of with )
i accidentally wiped xrecovery in one of my previous attempts to "fix" my se with the flashtool ...yes i forgot to run the good update.zip out of the firmwares folder and choose the wipeuserdata option wich removed my xrecovery that i had installed....
so everything that could go wrong went wrong...
since it didnt really matter what i did with my freshly created brick i started digging around on the forums and found this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746
wich is a great way to flash roms to a previous version.
so i downloaded the tool 0.26 was the version wich i used.
after i got the tool installed i downloaded a new "old" rom.
i had too fool the se companion tool that i was using a old version.
these roms are found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=826455
pick anyone because it does not matter at all (since im dutch i used the dutch version)
even though my system files were messed up to a point of no return the rom installed just fine but did not boot... but now i had atleast a older rom installed.
so i started the se companion and crossed my fingers...
and it updated! because the old rom was predated to their latest firmware they pushed out the update wich fixed the system files and gave me the latest firmware.
but now ofcourse i was on a stock rom not rooted or anything.
since i am such a noob at this i tried a new all in one script made by mikevhl
found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=10596265#post10596265
it automaticly rooted my phone, installed busybox and xrecovery
after that i just ran the keyboard layout fix found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=822050
but now i needed apps2sd because that was the only reason i ever started this madness called upgrading....
but instead i found this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=919326
it is not apps2sd!! but links2sd
Instead of moving all applications to SD card with app2sd, I want to move only selected applications.
Because I don't want to move my launcher, soft keyboard and dialer application to SD and make them unavaliable on boot if my SD card has problem or not inserted.
and because this is a apk even a geek like me can install that with astro..
please note that Link2SD does not move data and dalvik-cache, it only moves the apk file. This is what Android 2.2+ does. APKs are actually on the card; the dex files, private data directories, and native shared libraries remain in internal storage.
for actual apps2sd i would reffer you to use any other script/installation w/e. after all my failures i could not be asked anymore and found that this sollution was more than enough for me
the only thing you need to do is partition your sd card wich is verry easy and there is a perfect tutorial allready found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=SD_card_partitioning
so now i changed my bricked phone wich i considered dead to a working latest firmware rooted xrecovery links2sd working phone in less than a hour..
i would like to thank:
Androxyde and bin4ry for flashtool!
whooper90 for his keyboard-layout tutorial!
Mikevhl for his perfect script!
bakpinar for his links2sd program!
and ofcourse everyone contributing to their projects.
amen
a good post.thank you
nice post but i want you to point at an easier way
when you soft bricked your devices and i think i am one that have done that the most in this forum lol
have restores my soft bricked pro for more like 350 times now...
pull battery out open SEUS go further till you see you need to connect your phone
plug usb cable in it hold back button and put battery back in
and you rom will be flashed
this will always work coz we have s1 bootloader and thanks for that SE!
unless you go **** around with the boatloader ofc xD
i recently moved on to yet another mobile phone which i hope to be using for a couple of months since the se was not entirely to my liking but yes your method works fine ofcourse unless your bootloader is messed up
anyways i just expressed my way of fixing my problem on the situation i got myself into..which is probably verry simmilar to most nubs messing around on a android the first time and end up with a soft bricked phone... and to help them understand their bricked phone i wrote my little tut just for the nubs like myself.
what if i stuck at the SE logo?
my problem already solved now..thanx every1..xda roxx
I must admit, I am a complete noob when it comes both to linux, android and smartphones. I know a great deal about computers, but only recently bought the X10 mini pro, since it wasn't that expensive and I wanted a qwerty-keyboard.
Anyway, the reason I have decided to install a custom rom is mainly the fact that SE have confirmed that they will not give X10 mini/mini pro Froyo, so therefore I now understand I have to start using custom roms.
The current wishes I have for installing a custom 2.1 rom is the following:
-Apps2SD
-Multitouch
-Change themes
I have currently decided to go for the iridium rom. Is that a good decition? I've read lots about "JiT" but I don't exactly know what it is. For example, can I install JIT, then install a custom rom (such as iridium) and JIT will still be "installed" and working?
Many of the tutorials here are great, in the way that it makes noobs like me able to actually install custom roms, however, the tutorials are alot like:
STEP 1) Pick a ftl/i20x model and install with flash tool.
STEP 2) Use one of the following builds: 2.1.A.x353.3531.43 (I'm like... WTF IS FTL?! WHAT BUILD SHOULD I CHOOSE?? WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?!?!? :/) lol,

i would say try till you find one you like. just because you like the looks of the iridium rom you should try them all before you make your descion. also experiment a bit since that does not hurt to try.
Well whats holding me back is the simple fact I can't get xrecovery working. I made another post for that tho, anyone of you want to try and assisst me?

Trust me.. When I say I have tried for hours getting xrecovery to work, that includes rebooting 20-30 times, each time pressing the back-button from vibration and probably like 3 times per second, until phone is fully booted. No results. Is there no other way to check if xrecovery actually IS installed?
Ok, I've seen some problems with the placing of the three files...
Where have U placed dem?
You need to COPY them from sdcard til SYSTEM, Then MOVE to system/bin.
That step is very important to make it work.. if you've just copied them from sdcard til system/bin , that could be the problem.. ?

Thanks alot!
But now the strangest thing happened... after my phone crashed and I repaired it, I log into market with my google account, and all applications (such as "Root Explorer") that I've paid for in the past, won't get downloaded. It just starts download but nothing happens, download freezes at: "downloading".
Any ideas what's causing this?
JiT is enabled as part of installing Iridium ROM.
Alright, I did a factory reset to fix the problem. With market. Followed indtructions precisely, three times now...xrecovery never starts up.
Anything else I need to configure? I notice that when i reboot, go /system/bin the xrecovery.tar file is gone.
EDIT: No it is still there, with the same permissions.
It doesn't seem like anyone else have any issues running xrecovery, so I don't get it!!

When I try to install xrecovery with the aapk-installer, the three icons just turn red. Judging from others who had this happen, it was due to an outdated busybox version.
Anyway, I ran Titanium Backup to update busybox, but that only got me 1.15. How can i get 1.18? It is not on the market

I dont think it is due to busy box version. i have busy box 1.15.3, and i have x recovery and custom rom CM 6.3.2.1 installed.
Are you moving the file and then copying them to them to the system folder? and is the root explorer in rw.
Thread which i followed: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=878426
peace.
I move files to /system/. Change permittion. Copy to /system/bin/. Reboot. Hammer back button, nothing.
The unified xrecovery-apk installer gives a clue I think, cause the install fails. I just wantt to find out why. I am rooted. I do mount r/w..
Sent from my U20i using XDA App
You need to copy them THEN move them, from your post above you are moving them then copying. Its important to do it the right way round.
Now I copied them to /system/. Change permittions. MOVE them to /system/bin/. Still no luck.
I am confused about all the talk about Busybox version, instructions about "DO NOT UPDATE BUSYBOX ONCE YOU'VE INSTALLED XRECOVERY!!" etc. but if I had done that wrong, xrecovery should just cause the phone to freeze at the SE-logo, right?
Atm, nothing at all happens at the SE-logo.
I think I'm going to use SEUS to wipe it all clean again, then just root it with superoneclick from PC, download Root Explorer, and try this again. My build atm is: 2.1.1.A.0.6 btw.
Thank you all so much for the help! I got it working now Had to go back to factory settings, then just root with superoneclick (NOT try to install xrecovery) then I installed xrecovery manually, after installing busybox through Titanium Backup.
Haha, now the only issue is that I can't find the flashtool from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=825664 I made afew posts here and there asking if someone could re-upload or post a mirror two days ago, but no replies. Does anyone have the GUI-version of flashtool?
EDIT: Nevermind. An angel uploaded a mirror of that too! =) Thanks everyone, now I will try my luck with the iridum rom!

Which version? I used v2.5 on already rooted Xperia Tablet S 4.0.3 release3 to jump all the way to release6b and lost all vendor apps in process.
I then test tried my titanium backups to restore the Walkman App and when I try to run the app it force closed walkman every time tried to run.
Then I went and did a factory restore and all vendor apps returned but lost anything and everything personal I ever did on the tablet, which I expected.....but root survived the reset so that was good.
And Walkman App is still broken and force closes every time I try to run it.....
So do you know what to do? Thanks for help......no replys on the dev forum.
OK Now FIXED!!!!
I installed from the vendor0 folder location and it works.
I think if anyone has missing apps after using Flasher tool, go to the vendor0 folder and install them from that location. If that doesn't work do a factory reset and dont worry because you dont lose root.
I think in my case I hosed things up by trying to restore using titanium backup....
Anyway, problem solved....thanks for all your help.

Try downloading the stock rom and then again installing it on your phone. You can also try by the software cd that came with your phone

You could reinstall the stock ROM as stated, or you could extract the apk from it and push it to your device. Another option is to flash a new ROM.

I was going to try to flash another ROM to my phone but they all say to make a backup to my SD card. I did not know what that meant. I thought it was making a backup of the ROM and I did not know how to do that. Also my phone did not come with any CDs.

It is making a backup of the ROM. You need a custom recovery to do that.

Deleted systemUI.apk
Hi, I was hoping someone could help me with my problem.
Long story short I rooted my phone because when I tried to update Google Maps I got a 'package file not signed correctly' error so I read around and read you can delete system files which I did and I got Google Maps to update.
Then I delved into rooting a little more and tried to edit the statusbar icons so I extracted the APK file and changed the desired icon but when I tried to add them back into the SystemUI.apk it wouldn't let me paste them. So I decided to delete the whole .apk and then reinstall the modified one but when I clicked the file and tried to Install it I got a message saying ' x Application not installed' but now because I deleted the file I have no Background, StatusBar, Notifications or Multitasking and I'm completely stuck.
I tried wiping my phone which didn't work and I've read around and tried to flash the ROM using Oden3 but it won't detect my phone and now because SystemUI.apk is gone I don't get the USB Storage pop up so I can't connect my phone to the computer.
Too make matters worse when I hold Volume Down + Home + Power to enter recovery or download mode I get an Android symbol on it's Back with a Red triangle and a '!' sign inside. I can click the home button which brings up the menu and the volumes buttons to navigate but then it won't let me select an option.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9500 which WAS on Android 4.2 but I have no idea whats happened now because the layout is completely different. It looks like Android 4.4 but isn't
I'm completely stuck on what to do and I've searched high and low for 3 days and found nothing that works.
PLEASE SOMEONE HELP.
Can i ask u a queston,i have a huawei m931 right its soft bricked right and like 2 other huaweis i got i was able to do the combo to update.app u know the firmware trick,so when u said volume up and power plus homebutton thrre isnt a home button u mean just put finger on the home touch button im just curious on how this huawei can be updated by diin the dload folder which id simple..if u have in fo can u pls let me know wut u know thank you

I SOLVED IT *****! HERE'S HOW I DID [email protected]@@
I accidentally deleted com.android.systemui on my phone. Version KitKat 4.4.2.
STEP 1. HAVE AN EXACT DUPLICATE OF THE PHONE READY. HAVE THE SAME PHONE READY. LUCKILY I HAD ANOTHER PHONE OF THE SAME MODEL. GO TO A PHONE SHOP OR SOMETHING.
IT WILL HAVE THE SAME com.android.systemui .
STEP 2. INSTALL NOVA LAUNCHER OR SOME SORT OF LAUNCHER ON THE PHONE MISSING THE FILE, SO YOU CAN LOAD THE PHONE AND BE ABLE TO SEE IT!
STEP 3. INSTALL TITANIUM BACKUP ON BOTH PHONES. ROOT IT AND USB DEBUG IT BEFOREHAND.
STEP 4. ON THE BACK UP PHONE, OPEN UP TITANIUM BACKUP AND CLICK ON BACKUP/RESTORE ON THE TAB AND GO TO com.android.systemui. BACK THE **** UP THE FILE.
STEP 5. CONNECT IT TO THE COMPUTER, AND GO TO YOUR PHONE AND COPY WHAT'S INSIDE THE "TitaniumBackup" FOLDER.
STEP 6. CONNECT THE ****ED UP PHONE TO YOUR COMPUTER AND PASTE THE CONTENTS OF "TitaniumBackup" FOLDER (WHICH ARE com.android.systemui FILES) IN THE ****ED UP PHONE'S "TitanumBackup" FOLDER.
STEP 7. DISCONNECT EVERYTHING, EXIT OUT OF EVERYTHING, AND RESTART THE PHONES. GO TO YOUR ****ED UP PHONE, CLICK ON THE TITANIUM BACKUP, FIND com.android.systemui AND RESTORE IT!
STEP 8. ENJOY YOUR PHONE.
NOW YOU DON'T HAVE TO FORMAT IT , RESET IT, REINSTALL A FOREIGN ROM, OR DEBUG IT USING ADB OR SDK, AND ALL OTHER COMPLICATED THINGS FLOATING AROUND, RISKING LOSING ALL OF ITS DATA. JUST GO A LITTLE CREATIVE.
IF IT WAS OF ANY HELP TO YOU OR YOU ACTUALLY RECOUPED YOUR DATA BECAUSE OF ME, AND YOUR PHONE DATA WAS OF ANY WORTH TO YOU, PROBABLY WORTH MORE THAN $100, PLEASE SEND ME SOME APPRECIATION PREFERRABLY OVER $100, TO MY PAYPAL. THE EMAIL ADDRESS IS [email protected]
i need some help. i deleted my System UI by accident and now my phone cant takeout screenshots or pictures,
Can someone please help me ?
