Hi i have a telenor t8585 model of the hd2 and as some of you know there is no 3.14 new update for the hd2,now my question is can i flash a custom or shoud i say cooked rom with a base of the newest 3.14rom? And will it overite my hspl??
In this case until there is a 3.14 telenor stock ROM available your only choice is to use the GoldCard technique if you will use stock 3.14 ROM.
so with this metod i can instal non-telenor rom on my hd2 if the rom is ment for my hd2 of course wich in this case is t8585 ? And if i do this will it debrand my phone if i instal a stock htc rom (not carriers stoc rom)?

I wonder does HSPL will cause people who want to flash Original Factory Rom such as WWE,Asia WWE or Asia TW Rom(Chinese Rom), if my HD2 is from UK. Or we have to use gold card to flash HTC Factory Rom??
Or HSPL just for people who want to flash cook Rom?
I have saw people got problem after flash HSPL and got messege saying: "Your OS ROM isn't customized for your hardware. Please reflash the proper ROM code or contact the service center", !!! Problem NOT related to HSPL !!! ... this means that you flashed a region protected rom... flash any other rom that has your region ID
Can soem people tell me mroe about it, I have been download few official Rom from XDA such as WWE, Asia WWE, and Asia TW Rom, so does all of the Rom are region protected?? or only some special Rom

The HDSPL does what the Gold Card did and more. The features outlined below allow you to now flash any cooked or stock Roms.
Features
- Disabled CID Check, so you can flash any official ROM without using a Gold Card.
- Security Level = 0, so you can use all the boot loader commands (for developers).
- This HSPL will not get overwritten when flashing a full NBH with SPL via RUU.
- No NBH signatures check, so you can flash unsigned ROM images.
It's been suggested to remove your SD card when flashing your device with the Hard SPL as previous images / files can impact on the success of the installation.

As far as I understand the issue, it is not the ROMs that are region protected, so that is not what is causing some a problem. I believe the problem is that some phones have encoded firmware that restricts the type of ROMS that can be installed. So, some people can only install ROMS that are designed for the region.
You can search the threads for a way to work around such problems.
Hi im a noobie (from Old XDA 2I) with a HTC HD2 (Original T Mobile ROM) so after a few months I thought I would try a New/Upgrade ROM saying I had played around with the old XDA quite a bit. So I downloaded RUU_Le2_UK_143.206.4_Radio_Signed_15.26.50.o7U_ 2.04.50.22_2.ship.exe ROM and also HardSPL_3 I successfully installed Hardspl_3 but when I try to Flash the O2 rom I get up to 80% and then have the error ERROR[302] : UPDATE ERROR
I have tried about 6 times to go through the recovery but I still get the same error

Apparently yes they are different. I have a unlocked t Mobile htc hd2 and I thought I could flash a O2 stock rom onto it Im now downloading a t mobile rom and trying that. I shall let you know

Have you tried to enter bootloader?
If you can enter it, than no, your hd2 is not bricked

Have my HD2 now working after thinking I had bricked my New HD2. Thanks for all the help, by the way.
I downloaded a O2 Stock Rom and when flashing it reached 80% and died and would not flash at all and kept booting to the Tri colour Boot screen so I then downloaded a TMO stock rom and used that and its now OK ish.
I have a TMO unlocked HD2 using Winmo 6.5 with the O2 provider, So it still boots with the T Mobile screens and tries to use the TMO Walk and Web for internet connection. I manually input the O2 Settings into My ISP and I can get onto the net through this. Phone, Email and SMS work fine with O2
Some more new questions?
1) Can I not use a O2 Rom on the TMO unlocked HTC HD2 phone?.
2) Can I flash the HD2 with a Custom Rom
3) If I can What would the best stable rom to Flash with.....!!!!

3) Energy ROM ore Artemis ROM are very good.
Only problem is Artemis ROM use the latest stock ROM 3.14 (There isn't a 3.14 UK T-Mobile stock ROM available yet, so you need to use the Goldcard technique)

Yes you can, but why would you want to? HSPL the phone, then flash it it the HTC 1.66WWE ROM. This is basically the 1.72 ROM that the operators brought out, but without all the guff that the operators add in.
I have a 1.66WWE ROM with a T-Mobile UK HD2. Everything works as it should and it is stable.

Again, yes you can. But please read, and then reread, the chef's instructions. They will tell you if you if their ROM is suitable for your phone, if you need to HSPL (or Gold Card or SSPL) it and what Radio ROM is suitable for it.

The HTC 1.66WWE ROM is very stable for me, along with the 2.15 RADIO. As for custom ROMs, then go to the custom ROM section and have a good read.

This is all strange to me as I owned a XDA2I for about 6 years. Thanks to this site I could make that dance and had quite a few Progs working that a few people could not.
I even purchased a few spare or repair XDA's off EBay and had three working by mixing and matching

But it has no colored end and calls keys!! Plus the Software (ROM)
version says 3.14.707.3 WWE..
So should i HSPL TMOUS or the normal HD2 WWE version??

2.flash HSPL3 (TMOUS and normal HD2)

Sir are you taking about a T-Mous (USA) device!? Because the stock ROM 3.14.707 (as far I know is for European/Asian devices)
If this isn't a USA T-mous device don't use HSPL. If it is a USA device use HSPL3
Sounds like you've got a European T-Mobile HD2, not a US one. Regardless of that, 3.14 is the latest stock ROM, so why do you want to update SPL?
Hi, I am having problems with flashing official 3.14 wwe rom on my hd2. Now I have 1.66.405.2 wwe rom, radio 2.06.51.07 installed in this phone and when I enter the bootloader(four colors screen), it says that
PB81100 HX-BC
SPL-1.66.0000 XE
MicroP(LED) 0x05
MicroP(TOUCH) 0x40
I have formatted the sd card and removed it. my ram is 448mb.
but every time I try to flash the 3.14 rom, wwe or hk version, the program ran perfectly until the progress bar appears(as the roms started being flashed on hd2 ), when it reach 1%, the usb connection will automatically disconnect and the phone will shut down itself and restart. My hd2 is not a branded one.
That's all I can tell about the problem. Can anyone help?

Hi, my s/n code can only be used in htc.com/sea( i think my hd2 is from Singapore) and they dont have 3.14 rom. I download the 3.14 rom from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=623283. So it should be an official 3.14 rom.
Your phone is not allowed to run the those ROMs, so therefore it will not flash properly.
You need to use the Goldcard method, then flash the 3.14 ROM or your choice.

That's way you got these problems sir; use the GoldCard technique for install stock ROM 3.14
PS; don't use HSPL in combination with stock ROM 3.14

I have HD2 (i think is no branding) from Germany (i guess, bacause language documents is germany) and HTC have SPL 3.03.0000, so i must downgrade to 2.08 to install WP7.

If it isn't a branded device and it is a Ger Rom; try than this ROM.
