Is possible to disable the 20 sent sms limit?
Just uncheck "delete old message" in the sms/mms app settings and you're good.
i got like ~2400 sent/received msgs and it works like a charm.

I've got HTCMessaging_Client_1_8_20183325_00 on Dutty rom and in there I can't find way to disable saving of sent messages.
There was such option in previous SMS application. Generally I don't want any of sent SMS to stay on my cell.
Any idea how to do it ?
have you tried Mail Tab>Inbox>Tools>Options>Message & deselect 'keep copies of sent items in sent folder'? I know that this is the settings for mail, but it may work for SMS too since SMS used to be lumped in there before HTC made their own thing for it.
I've tried this setting but it's not working in this version of SMS client.
Any other ideas ?
I know the stock Messaging app has an option to remove text messages over xxx messages but it doesn't work. I have 700+ text messages with some of my contacts and I'd like something to automatically remove all the messages over 200, i.e. I'd like no more than 200 texts per contact.
Anyone know of a program that will do this?
Handecent
try handecent sms, I think that It has this feature, I cant check at the moment. But iirc it does.
I tried posting a link but I dont have more than 10 posts so I cant. It should be easy to find.
hope this helps. Either way its a great app.
go sms pro has a remove old messages feature. its pretty good actually. plus its free of charge!
My S3 automatically changes a test message to an MMS once it reaches 3 messages long. Is there any way to change this so that it will always be sent as an SMS regardless of its length?
Thanks
That's the usual way the stock sms app behaves.
If you want to prevent this, you have to use another sms app like for example "GO SMS" or "Handcent SMS"
Hey guys I was just looking through my messaging setting and noticed that it has "delete old messages as limit is reached" the limit is set at 200 for SMS and 20 for MMS. I looked through my SMS messages and know for sure that I am over the 200 limit. Does the limit refer to SMS threads or actual texts? As far as I can tell it looks like nothing is being deleted (which I would prefer). It also seems as though I have over 20 MMS in each thread as well. I also use gosmspro for cross android/iphone group "SMS" texting which is actually MMS. Everything seems intact in my inbox. Any clarification on how SMS and MMS on android operate is appreciated!
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
The limit is per conversation not total.
sent from my overcompensation tool, the galaxy note.
Using GlowFly, SMS Enhancer, and SMS Popup (all similar apps), and their Quick Reply feature, stock messaging and Chomp both show the same message going out twice (the recipient actually receives one message).
I believe this is because of KitKat's new requirement of a default SMS app being the only one that can send. However, Quick Reply circumvents it, and I think it results in this bug.
Anyone know what I can do to fix it? I love the feature.
Thanks!
