Apps on sd card won't load and is always computing! - Optimus One, P500, V General

Hi guys, my P500 has been rooted before with z4root, but I unrooted it already and did a system recovery. However, now whenever I reboot, the apps on my sd card won't load and some of the apps and market is always computing! Now I can't install any apps or uninstall apps! Help please!

why u unrooted?

Because when it is rooted, the problem was there. So I thought maybe unrooting can help.

Anyone can help?

This happened to me but was unrelated to rooting. I used apps2sd to enable installing any app directly and automatically to the sd card but my memory card was too slow and not formatted by the phone.
I tried to reset it but it went nuts and wouldnt show usb debugging mode or mass storage mounting mode. After fixing the phone, the tech guy told me that it was my sd card's fault and that I had to format it using the phone.
No problems after that. The games that are very prone to lag are installed on my phone's memory though and all games go to phone memory first before I move them around with Titanium Backup.

How do I format the ad card using the phone? And here's the problem I'm talking about

Go to Settings -> SD card & phone storage settings -> Unmount SDcard -> Click format SD card.

Thanks!Data in sd card will be lost right? What about the data in the phone?

Only data on SD card will be lost.

SD not recognized
After turning your phone off a couple of times until the SD apps load, don't update your apps again when they are on the SD card , move them first to the phone, then update the app and then move them back again to the SD card, it is tedious but it is the only way that I solved the problem

All data on SD card will be lost, make sure you back it up to your PC or something just in case you have something you want on there.
Phone storage will not be touched.

I'm having an issue with the SD card in this version. It works fine in android 2.2 thingy.

Mount SD Card
Insert an SD card for mounting
Erase SD Card
Erases all data..

If I reinsert my SD card, It seems to give me a message saying it's been inserted. But it's still not detected. How can I fix this?
Regards.
delete your ext2 or ext3 partition.
only fat32 with 1 partition (you don't need ext2 anymore for your sdcard)
make backup of your sd card before!
I'm unsure how to do this. Also, thanks for your response. It's been total chaos for me. I guess they should've included this step in the installation process.
backup your sd card via computer then format your sd card to fat32 then try if is detected.
sory for bad english
I did that and there is still an issue.
when you insert sd in phone do you select mount sd card? maybe your sd card is not working great

What's the cause of this?

I've tried reflashing the rom alot of times. It's not working!

i hope will work
Not working where is everyone!
go on development forum there you may find a solution or install CM7 gingerbread v13
Right click Computer - Manage - Disk Manager.
Then delete al the ext partions and reformat your card.
do as terrormattie.
makesure you're deleting the right partition and storage.
you can always use other tools like partition wizard to delete or create it later.

When will the external card be used for apps or even linux?

As eveyone knows you can't really install apps to the external SD card, just the internal sd card.
So then what is the use of the external sd card? to have our multimedia on it?
What I'm wondering is how far fetched it would be to have different operating systems installed to the external card so I dont have to waste my internal memory on the ubuntui hack? Would it be possible to actually boot up into these cards instead of the internal sdcard? Or somehow have windows on them like I saw people using debian (didnt read the full story, still getting ubuntu working)
I assume it will be easier when they figure out how to install apps on the external card.
EDIT: Have I missed something? Ive only been gone a few days. Can we now install apps to our external? Because all app2sd programs but them on my internal sd card.
The other cool thing I thought of is making a micro sd connector that conversts to usb with a modded back plate so you can hook up external usb drives... but thats a different post..

It is annoying that we can't use the Micro SD card for some things. Pretty much any app that lets you save to "SD card" ultimately go to the internal memory which is neither a SD card nor where I want it to go. Most apps provide no way for you to make it save to the actual Micro SD card.
******ng about that wont solve it. If you dont wanna learn and get what you want by yourselves, shut up and wait patiently.

[Q] Android phone stopped recognizing my SD card

Here's the deal.
Today I woke up to my phone charging by the night... but it downcharged to 15% of batterry. I reboot it and find out that my SD card showed up info of being "empty". The minitool partition wizard on a PC shows me that info:

no no, the memory card is 8GB not 32MB.
How to recover the partitions? Also, the SD card has been partitioned for use with app2sd programs with this tut: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/SD_card_partitioning, because my phone (HTC Explorer "Pico") has a very small amount of internal memory. The rom was stock though.
Of course I could re-format it, but I don't want to, because the data stored there was very special to me. I want to recover it.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions
I had that same problem a while back. I unmounted the SD Card and put it in another phone and it still said the same. So I soft reset my first phone, put the SD Card back in, and all was good.

But the card couldn't be recognized on a Linux, on a DMDE, SD Formatter, HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool, and primary on a TestDisk and on a GParted, and one big nothing was achieved.... You say that if I just soft reset the android phone, everything will be back to normal? Did you had the exactly same problem? You know, I need to clarify things before I do something that could destroy entirely my data.
I didn't have the exact problem just something similar and a soft reset (which will do no harm) worked for me. If the SD card can't be read any other ways then I don't know anything else other than formating the SD card.

[Q] Storage Space Running Out/tried everything

My wifes device is stock/rooted. I've tried moving all the apps to the SD card that I can but it's still showing 4.16GB of apps in internal storage. What can I do to fix this and get everything on the SD card that I can? I have tried Link2SD but it only moves somethings. I just want all user apps, downloads and pictures to default to the SD card.
So, does anyone know how to moved everything to the SD card and make it the default storage location?
5.0.2 does not allow moving everything to SD card like previous versions. You can only move the main app, but all data still needs to be on internal. I had the same issue. I tried updating some apps the other day, and got the error of not enough space, so the only option was to uninstall some apps I hardly used. I'm back up to around 1.2 free. Another thing to do is clear cache a lot. I free up around 400MB each clean. I use two apps for that, and both work great. Apps2SD has more features, and you have to enable the cache clean notification in settings. Cache Cleaner does just that. You can even use CCleaner to see if there are orphaned files/folder that can take up needed space.

I just learned that I have the same problem: I moved several apps to the SD card and it's still showing that I have 1 GB of free space. However, when I check which apps I have in the SD card, link2sd shows that nothing's in external memory. Please check the images I attached to this post. The first one shows which apps I supposedly have in the SD card. The other image says otherwise.

I think this is because the device is rooted, I've heard xt1527 model has some issues with root binaries...

Nearly 1 GB of unknown data appears and I don't know how to get rid of it

Hello all, I need some help.
First of all, my phone is set up with adoptable storage. Before any problems, I had around 3.75 GB used out of 5.51 GB in my phone's Internal Storage. I wanted to migrate data from my SD Card to the phone's actual Internal Storage, so I could format and use the SD card on another phone. I tapped "Migrate data," but it was unsuccessful due to there being not enough space. My phone says "Data left at original location" if I recall correctly. But then the Internal Storage gets nearly full at 5.49 GB used, while all the data still persists in the SD card, unchanged. I've tried multiple reboots, clearing cache and davlink twice, and even deleting many other apps in hopes of updating the storage count, but nothing helped at all. What can I do? Thanks in advance.

Use an app called Storage Analyser. It will help you easily identify which file taking how much size. It is very powerful tool and Plots out the storage structure of your devices internal External and System partitions.
Hit Thanks if helped

Thanks, but it did not help, sadly. I think what happened is that some data from the SD Card was copied over to the Internal Storage when I did the migration, but when it failed, it simply left the copy on the Internal Storage rather than deleting it.
