[Q] MAGLDR 1.11 - Have no SD card - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey,
Basically my SD card became corrupt, so I have ordered a new one.
When I get it I plan on using a Android NAND, so I thought I would prepare. I updated my radio, then updated to MAGLDR. However because I dont have an SD card I am assuming that a NAND build wont install as it will put some stuff on an SD card?
So I have this MAGLDR on my phone and can't do anything.
Should I uninstall it? Or can I install a NAND build without an SD card inserted?

install the NAND android...its called nand for a reason lol
it installs it on the nand memory and not the sd!
its easy turn on ur phone and go to usb flasher or whatever its called and run the installation file, im sure ull be pleased with nand android

Haha true! I wasnt sure because I saw something about it writing a data file to your SD card or something :s

New SD card

Hi guys,
Since I'm going on vacation tomorrow I bought a new memory card because my old one had too less memory. It's the same brand, Sandisk, but now 8 GB instead of 2. Problem is that if I put in my new SD card it doesn't get further than a black screen after the bootscreen. Of course I rooted my phone, so the only possible problem I could figure was that my I used my old SD card doing that.
Has that anything to do with each other or does it just take a veeeeeery long time to boot after I put a new card in my phone?
Thanks!
Try booting it up with no memory card in, then insert once fully booted up.
Any luck?
Tried that, doesn't work. It doesn't get further than the bootscreen. However it does work when I boot up with my old SD card and then put it in. I don't have all the time to figure this out anymore so I guess it's just going to have to be going on vacation with 2 SD cards then xd.
the phone will not boot if you apps are on your sd card using apps-to-sd, you need to make a ext partition on the new sd, and copy the contents from the ext from the old one to the new one using linux

[Q] do you need a ?

do you need a sd card with nand build im on tmo us hd2 and would love to take out my 16gb sd to put in my acekard so shud i just buy a new sd or take it out of my hd2 still not clear about what nand is so my simple question with nand do i need a sd card
Nand is flashed to phones internal memory so no SD card necessary.

SD Card Issue

Hey guys, I used ALberts method for rooting using the micro SD card and now im kinda sad. Im sad because I deleted everything off of my 32gb micro SD card and now it's only showing that it has 76MB on it. I reformatted and it still is only showing 76mb. Anyone know how I can have mah SD card back lol?

I had the same frustration and figured there was some magic I didn't understand re: image files. I "believe" that the image you select with the windows disk imager (Win32DiskImager.exe), which I believe is named cwm_sd_flashing_boot.img controls how much free space is left. In other words, that image is only around 70 MB or so, and when you transfer the image to the USB, that's all you get.
I was using a 2G SD, so no big loss, but when I went to place the .zip file for CM9, there wasn't enough free space available. What I did was copied the CM9 zip and gapps zip to yet another SD, booted up with the original 70 MB SD and then popped in the larger SD when asked to select the zip to flash in CWM. It worked.
Since then, I realized that all you have to do is format your larger SD as a bootable FAT32 drive, ie, set the boot and lda flags, then copy "all" the files that were in the original SD drive. After trying to puzzle it out for two days, I got it working tonight.
For me, I just formatted a 16 GB SD as bootable and then added all the zip files I'd need, and will use that SD in the future for CM9 and other upgrades.
As far as how to make a bootable drive, I use linux (and dual boot windows 7) and used the gparted program as recommended by indirect. It allows you to set the boot and lda flags which I guess is all you need to make the drive bootable. I have no idea how to get windows to do that without some other app. You can always create a gparted live CD and boot into it.
Good luck.
PS The files I found I needed on the SD to make it boot are
boot.img
flashing_boot.img
MLO
u-boot.bin
...as well as Gapps_and_root.zip and any other zips you want to load.
I'm not sure of MLO and u-boot.bin, but I put them in and it works.
PPS I also found that if you leave the USB connected to your computer, it will boot right into the SD. If not, you probably have to do the power and N buttons at the same time thing.
Recovering SD Capacity
I had the same problem, but then I read somewhere that if you just use the NT clear SDCARD / dismount while the MicroSD is still in the NT (of course), it will revert back to it's original capacity.
Worked for me...I can look through the menus and get step by step instructions if you can't follow the crappy way I described it above.
Lol, thanks for the advice guys! I'll try it, hopefully Im not screwed

CM10 SD card & Gapps trouble installing

So I have an Hboot 1.15 CM10 Nightly installed on my evo, but i cannot access the SD card. Whenever I try to download something, it says I need external storage to download it, or even if I do a transfer from my computer to the SD card, I cannot see the sd card folder in TWRP to install gapps.
Is there any way to use my internal storage, or reconfigure my sdcard? Everything else works fine, but just really having trouble with this.
Ps. forgot to mention, I have S-ON, so maybe that is the problem?

The only problem with s-on is that you dont have full access to nand. Its not that big a deal considering there are plenty of ways to flash with s-on, just a few extra steps. Anyway did you wipe the phone prior to flashing cm10, you can either use a wipe script or you can manualy wipe by going to factory reset, cache and dalvik cache. When moving from a different rom, especially sense to aosp you need to wipe the phone to get rid of anything left over that could cause problems. There is also a zip that was recently posted that will re-write the locations for internal and external sd, I flashed it but Im only seeing the external sd now, still it helps that my external is better recognized

Yea everything was wiped. What I ended up doing was mounting the SD card from TWRP and for some reason it was able to detect it then. So now I am able to use the stock google apps, but I still can't use the camera, because it requires the SD card, so something fishy is going on with recognition of it. I highly doubt its a corrupt memory card because I just went out and bought it. (its a 16 gb class 10 SDHC sandisk card).

idk im on cm10 with a 64gb class 10 and it sees it fine.
ah..i cant believe that slipped my mind, the latest TWRP does support both cards, if you dont mind somewhat crippling the filesystem, you can flash that zip i was talking about earlier, it goes into the filesystem and erases the shortcuts for the internal and external sd and then rewrites them, i only had partial acces to my external the first time and after flashing i seem to be somewhat locked out of my internal (file explorer will not venture outside external sd) but the rom seems to run happily now

I will look into it, is there any way to switch the camera to use internal storage without going to the camera app? Whenever I do go to camera, it just pops up and asks for an external memory card
Maybe my card is formatted wrong? Is there a special way to format the card so I can use it?
well it may be that cm10 does not like the way your card is formatted but if it has no access to the card at all then formatting it will not help. Are you on the latest nightly? There are some issues with the sd cards but I havent had CM10 flat out refuse my sd card. Since TWRP can read and write to both cards you can try rebooting into recovery and reformat (wipe) the card, be sure any backups may have you have are safe

SD Card unexpectingly stopped working.

Was using my wifi tether while phone was plugged in and when I checked my phone, I seen the white sd card with the exclimation point and when I pulled down my notification bar, it said "Removed SD Card, Insert a new one." I put it in another phone, said same thing. I put it in my laptop, and Windows didn't even recognize it in any way. When I put it back in my phone, it said "Damaged SD Card, Reformat needed" or whatever. When I tried to reformat it, it said it couldn't be reformatted. When I rebooted into 4ext to reformat it, it kept giving me errors that it couldn't be reformatted.
I'm running Dastin's WILD FOR THE NIGHT 2/15 4.2.2 rom. My SD card is a Lexar High-Speed Class 10 32GB.
All I'm trying to do is recover everything that is/was on it. I have a feeling that that isn't possible. I had 4GBs of music, about 10GBs of downloads, custom roms, etc.
If anyone knows how to recover my files or format the sd card without errors please tell me. Thank you.
I had the exact same problem once. no card reader was recognizing it. what i did was go to recovery and format the card from there. I remember i had to choose 4ext partition option or something like that to get it to format
Whenever I go into 4ext, it says sd card can't be mounted. The only way I got it to do anything was I used a friends desktop computer and it recognized it in My Computer, yet when I click Open, it says it's not accessible. I right clicked on it, did the full format, and at the end it said it couldn't be formatted. I went to properties and the disk is blue and it says 0kbs in all sections. I tried data recovery software, partition wizards, etc and no go. Can I send it to Lexar and have them do something about it?

Go into recovery and then select make sd-ext4 partition option. It should format the card. then afterwards you can remove the ext partition by reformatting
What if the sd card isn't recognized by any computer? And I have data recovery software that "claims" it can restore your data even after a format. Is that even possible?

I was once able to restore around 90 percent of my images on a corrupted card but i have never seen a card restore all the data on a card. It's all your luck
I had app backups, game data, videos, and about 4gbs of music. Will it restore them or images only?

Re:
Due to corruption your memory card stopped working and need to repair corruption issue, go for Kernel for windows data recovery software for the recovery of your data from the corrupted sd memory card.
Well i put the sd card in an action replay sd card adapter (the one that you take the bottom off and it turns into a usb drive) and I was able to bring up everything that was on it. I backed it up and formatted it with win7 partition wizard or something, and I put it in a regular sd adapter and I got nothing. For some reason it only works with the AR USB adapter. How can I get the sd card to work in my phone now? I'm thinking I can just buy another 32GB (or 64) since I was able to get everything off of it, I'm just trying to avoid that so I can try and save this one still.
