As the bootloader isn't cracked yet you can't load anything other than 1.6.
i have the same problem and this is whats keeping me from being able to install gingerbread in xperia x10i. what can i do?
I also tried to use this method, looked to be the easiest way to flash a rom through. But from my understanding there's another app like Rom manager that you can use for the x10 can't remember atm, haven't had coffee yet can always use the xrecovery method... Just a thought.
Sent from my X10a using XDA App
Any update or alternative for this problem? I've just rooted my x10 with SuperOneClick but it still doesn't come up on the device list when I try to backup the current ROM. I'm a complete NOOB so an easy solution in plain English would be great! Thanks.

Generic 2.0.2.A.0.24 firmware [rooted + xrecovery preinstalled]

Just an addition before New Year's Day.
Since the last firmware, is not yet been rooted, i followed zdzihu's method and made a rooted firmware with xrecovery already installed.
In order to install this firmware, you need to install xrecovery first.
Also if you have already flashed with 2.0.2.A.0.24 through SEUS, please downgrade!
Requirements:
DOWNLOAD>>X10 mini flasher
DOWNLOAD>>2.0.2.A.0.24PACK.tar.bz2
You will also need an X10 mini rooted with xrecovery installed
Instructions:
1. Download and unpack 2.0.2.A.0.24PACK.tar.bz2. It contains 2 files: update.zip and 2.0.2.A.0.24FlasherFiles folder
2. Copy update.zip to SD Card
3. Copy 2.0.2.A.0.24FlasherFiles folder inside the flasher's folder.
4. Boot into xRecovery and install update.zip
5. Open flasher and press "Flash" tab
6. Choose "2.0.2.A.0.24FlasherFiles" and flasher will show "Searching for Xperia..."
7. Plug the phone on usb
8. Choose "Reboot" option on recovery and right after the screen goes blank, keep the "back" button pressed until the green light is on.
If you don't succeed at first, press home and on/off button while connected on usb and simultaneusly "back" button.
Make sure you understand the installation process before you try!
EDIT
If by any chance you have installed a new theme and you want to go back to the stock one,
DOWNLOAD STOCK THEME, and flash it through recovery
All credits go to:
zdzihu, for xrecovery and for all this actually, as i followed his method.
Bin4ry for the flasher, saved my @ss from many many bricks.
aZuZu for his SIN2IMG tool. Works great!

hi
hi there. what is new on the firmware?
Just the new update that Sony Ericsson provides.
The difference on this one, is that it comes prerooted (there is no other known method to root 2.0.2.A.0.24 till now) and with xrecovery installed.
D_d
Gonna try it on my sister's mini , asap! Nice job D_d!
Great work Mate big thanks to all the contributors!!!

JIT and app2sd should work fine.
A 2.0.A.0.504 framework-res.apk has 981 images in drawable-ldpi folder whereas the 2.0.2.A.0.24 framework-res.apk has 982.
It should also work but we can find out only if someone tests it.
*EDIT* Tested with Iridium Carbon (which has modded android.policy.jar and framework.jar) and is working properly.
How can I downgrade?
Thanks!!!
Thanks for this mate........
first i'll downgrade and then i'll try urs method on X10 mini.........Again Many thanks for ur contribution.
BTW could you tell me please that how to downgrade my MINI.(Any link)

oh Well....the only solution is take a backup...downgrade....and then upgrade according to the tutorial....
Seems that i have only two ways First-: to wait for app which make my MINI get rooted.....Or Second-:Downgrade to low version and then again update it with the help of D_D flash version.
Anyways THanks for your support and yes, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Dude i think you should try again to update it to 2.1 version using Bin4ry flash tool...that will provide you root access.
Here's the link-:
Pro: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=826455
Mini: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=825664
In order to use the flasher just try these steps:
1)Download SEUS and Pc Companion and connect the phone with them at least once (just connect)
2)Make sure you have the latest java installed on your pc.
3)Download the flasher from Bin4ry (Just make sure you've downloaded the mini and not the mini pro edition).
4)Download from the same thread a Generic 2.0.A.0.504 FW and put the folder with the .sin files inside the flashtool's directory.
5)Run the flashtool, press flash and then choose the name of the folder, where the .sin files are in.
6)While the phone is off, keep the back button pressed and connect on usb until the green light is on.
tnx my problem was solved by u mates

Whilst your concerns are valid, you have posted this thread in the wrong forum. This doesn't belong in the dev forums, it belongs in the the Question and Answer forums here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1152
P.S. xRecovery is pretty much redundant now for roms higher than Android 2.1 eclair, as ClockWordMod (CWM) Recovery is what everyone uses. There is a .zip you can flash in xRecovery which upgrades the recovery to CWM recovery which will be the recovery you need to install mini cm7, (however if what you say is true, that the moment you turn your phone on and repeatedly press back it doesn't enter xRecovery, then you will need to use Sony Ericsson Update Service or PC Companion or the Sony Ericsson website software page to repair your phone, then you will need to root your phone again and install xRecovery) ; here is that .zip that upgrades your xRecovery to CWM recovery: View attachment CWM3_for_xReC.zip Good luck
and don't post questions in the development forum again! Post them here instead please! : http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1152

do it? you will loose your data but... your phone should work again.
I think you anyway need custom kernel for that rom..
you can try fix with seus or you can find the stock rom and flash via flashtool

but if you will again flash some custom rom.. don't touch kernel if you didn't unlock bootloader
you can try later flash some custom rom that doesn't need custom kernel
