So, this is totally a noob question, but I can't seem to get this. I have an image I want to use as a wallpaper but I want it to be static on each page, and not spread across each page. When I choose the image to set as wallpaper, it makes me crop it, but it wont let me crop it to the size of the screen. It makes it a box, instead of a rectangle. However, if I just go to use the crop tool, it does it fine.
Help!

Hi, I'm trying to use a 960x540 image as wallpaper, but when I choose it, it's shown a square so a select a portion of image... I just want to use a simple image, with "static" behavior when sliding between home screens... How can I dot it?
I thinks it's the third time I try, but always forget and move to something else...
Seems really simple...
Well when you choose a new wallpaper it assumes you are going to have wallpaper scrolling on.

I have an image in my gallery that id like to set as my wallpaper. I choose the image and I resize it to include the whole image but when it sets it it only show a cropped section of the image. Has anyone seen this? Or am I missing something?

I believe it does that to allow scrolling. If you use GO Launcher it allows you to turn scrolling wallpaper off in the settings. I'm not really sure if default settings allow the option.
Or you can use Multi-picture Live WP and size it you screen size and put a different image on each screen.
Typical WP crops to more "squarish" so vertical pixels remain constant and horizontal is wide enough to scroll from 1st to last screen.
I like to have it pan across the image, it gives a good tactile feedback that other OSs don't have. I also really like the default images, especially the rays of different colors. Leave it to samsung to make such good screens and find images to make the screens look better.
Ive used the multi wp app but didn't want to use it here. I just figured the wallpaper would just "fit" the screen

You can use another Launcher and stop it from scrolling, then you can set the wallpaper to whatever image you want.
How do I resize a picture to use as my wallpaper. I have a particular pic I'd like to use. I have downloaded 3 different sizes and Everytime the phone wants to resize it to where I'd only get to use about a 1/3 of it. What's the deal, why does the phone even need to resize it?
Pretty sure all android devices do it. But try Wallpaper Wizardrii from the market. Also if you're using a different launcher you can choose that the wallpaper not scroll. Which will crop the picture and not move it.
Thank you sir. I'm going to try it now.
hi, I searched before creating the thread and I found nothing.
I have this very beautiful and very wide image that I want to use as a wallpaper, but I would like to be able to see more of it when I scroll the panes.
for example, my screen's width is 480 px. I would want the wallpaper to scroll by 480 pixels when I scroll the panes, so I could see the whole image (or at least most of it. it's very very wide, I would need 16 panes to see it whole this way XD).
so the problems are two: managing to put the image as the wallpaper as it is, without cropping or adjusting it to the screen (I tried with wallpaper wizardrii but it can't do it) and changing how much it scrolls when I scroll the panes.
I don't mind modifying system files to do it.
many thanks to anyone who will help me.
Hello, I just purchased a LG G2. Loving the phone, but there is one thing that is really bugging me. Perhaps someone here can help.
Why am I forced to crop an image that, when I view the image in the gallery, fits my phone screen just fine. I have this image that I downloaded onto my phone for my background. When I go to gallery and view it, it fits my screen beautifully. However, when I go to set that as my wallpaper, it makes me crop a small portion of the image. When I do this, the image now looks stretched and blurry. My question is, why can't I just fit the image to screen, like I can with every other phone I've used? It just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me that I have to crop an image rather than just fit it to screen.
Thanks!
Wallpapers on 1080p devices need a resolution of 2160x1920 if you don't want to do any cropping. Otherwise there are some apps out there that let you utilize the full image. Try out Image 2 Wallpaper from the play store.
The wallpaper scrolls, so in order to not scroll to a blank background it must be made bigger.

use an app like wallpaperii wizard? sometimes if you set your wallpaper thru the setings/home screen/lockscreen sometimes it doesn't affect it so much =. I had the same problem on the nexus 4 and it seems to be a common problem with these phones I've no doubt the n5 does it as well but it would be good to be able to set the pic you see without it being distorted, anyhow I know use the above as it gives you lots of possibilities you can stretch the pics in portrait/landscape and nine times out of ten the picture that you set actually looks good .
