Why won't flasher tool work? - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

I have literally tried it all, I just can't get flasher tool to work. I connect to SEUS, and then start up flasher tool. I click flash and then disconnect and reconnect my USB cable.
I have also tried other methods but it just freezes on "searching for xperia". I think it's bad drivers, but I've uninstalled the drivers through USB Deview and reinstalling automatically but it still won't work!
Please, XDA, you have to help/guide me!

Try using non GUI version worked for me. Had same problem
Sent from my E10i using XDA App

I've tried it before but it didn't seem to work back then. I could try it again though.

How long it say: "Sending Loader"?

1. don´t start SEUS
2. start Flasher
3. click on "Flash"
4. turn your phone off
5. press (and keep pressed) "back" (right) button
6. while the button still pressed, connect the cable

Try these steps dude-:
1)Download SEUS and Pc Companion and connect the phone with them at least once (just connect)
2)Make sure you have the latest java installed on your pc.
3)Download the flasher from Bin4ry (Just make sure you've downloaded the mini and not the mini pro edition).
4)Download from the same thread a Generic 2.0.A.0.504 FW and put the folder with the .sin files inside the flashtool's directory.
5)Run the flashtool, press flash and then choose the name of the folder, where the .sin files are in.
6)While the phone is off, keep the back button pressed and connect on usb until the green light is on.

SEMC USB Driver won't install

Hello,
i got a little Problem with my X10 (2.3.3 - rooted) and my Notebook (Acer - Win 7 64 bit).
I tried all ways to install the driver to use USB-Debugging but it won't install. The Device-Manager still tells me SEMC USB as unknown
I tried the usual way, start the phone with holding 'back', install the drivers manually...
Are there any other ways to get it working ?
Same goes for me,
Device manager states that the device is unknown, flashtool not working, PC companion no hope (connected to different USB ports including those of the motherboard).
it used to work but no chance now.
it charges normally from the USB (Orange LED) but would not connect to the PC.
Details:
Windows 7 x64
Gigabyte X58A-UD3R
Bootloader Unlocked Xperia X10 with 2.3.3 ROM and Doom's Kernel (the latest one)
The guy here says it is related to either windows windows update or faulty cable
http://android.modaco.com/topic/347751-flash-mode-not-working/
Didn't help...
But installing PC Companion did it
PC Companion install drivers automaticlly, that is the best solution.

I tried removing and installing PC Companion but it didn't work either.
Any help guys?
Changing the computer had no effect as well
You must install SEUS ( Sony Ericsson Update Service ). Only SEUS will install right driver. Problem with SEUS is that when you look on SE official site, they tell you that SEUS for X10 no longer persist, and they guide you to PC companion which is crap.
Try this: try to connect your phone with PC, in flash mode. PC will try to install your phone driver but it can't find it. Then in Action Centar, on PC, (a small flag in sys tray, right down corner of a screen) find solution for this problem, and windows will automatically find SEUS over net. Install and enjoy.
from X10i via XDA premium
tried that but no luck as well (even in flash mode SEUS can not detect the device)
Thank you
hello i found a way and it worked for me download flash tool and extract it look for a folder called drivers in there u will find something called ggsetup-2.2.0.10
run this install it and all done
@huzi7868 thank you for your help
However, that didn't succeed and I reinstalled windows and drivers again, but still not working
Even no luck when the phone is in flashmode
Just tried it on a third Computer and checked the cable but the cable is working on another HTC Desire but not on my Xperia X10 (I mean my X10 cable), however they are both charging
try flashtools, there's a folder called 'drivers' in it, open it and click on the installer

I agree, I also have solved in this way.
Download the latest version of Flashtool and after installing it you will find in the "drivers" folder the file "Flashtool-Drivers.exe".
Run it and select the drivers you need. Then connect again your Xperia X10
I really appreciate your help, but I had done that 3 times and on different computers but "USB Device not recognized"
As I sad before, use SEUS to install SEMC USB DRIVER. I have win 7 64bit, and I install driver on it. First, install Update service. When its finished, start Update Service and follow instruction (check "Licence Agree" button, and click next, then pick your phone, X10i I suppose, be carefull there is two X10, One is X10, and other is X10 SO-01b. I pick X10 for myself, and press NEXT. Turn off your phone, press and hold BACK button on phone while connecting with PC via USB. HOLD till you see message to release BACK button. Till then your driver will be installed.
Download SEUS from here http://www.megaupload.com/?d=SBDVZ3DG
@Dzufa Thank you, but I had done that before and tried it again, whenever I connect the phone pressing the back button the green LED illuminates and "USB device is not recognized" appears and nothing happen after that, SEUS just behaves like nothing is connected.
Try with this one. And I think you must be online, because SEUS must download some files.
I really did that and of course updated SEUS, as I said green LED illuminates and nothing happens even in flash tool (it used to work for ages but suddenly it stopped, it only charges)
BTW, I had flashed many kernels and ROMs before it happened so I am quite familiar with flashtool and SEUS, I unlocked the bootloader using 9lucas method and it worked after that I installed XSP ROM and the USB worked as well, however after 2 weeks or so, one day I left it connected it to the PC and I found that the phone turned off and refused to power on, I left it for a while in the charger then powered it on and it powered on, then it has refused to connect to the PC through USB since then.

X10 doesn't work anymore

Hi everyone
Saturday, my X10 stopped working, so I took my battery out and putted it back in. I tried to restart the phone, but it didn't work.. when I push the Power-button the led light flashes 3 times in red.. When I connect it to my computer the red led flashes every 2-3 seconds and when I connect it with my charger, the green led turns on for a few minutes and goes out again..
I tried pushing the left and right button and the Power-button, or the volume-up button and the power-button, I also tried recovery with PC Companion but nothing works.. My computer doesn't recognizes my phone..
Thanks and greetings from Belgium

I tried using the Flashtool, but I can't get my phone connected to it..
I installed ggsetup-2.2.0.11 and that didn't work, but I don't really understand what's meant by this..
If after the above Flashtool still doesn’t recognize your phone, do the following:
From Flashtool/drivers folder extract the zip file XXX_ADB_driver which corresponds to your phone model
Open “Device manager” on the computer and find the device which is with an exclamation mark on it (do this with connected to the computer phone)
Right click on the device and choose Uptade driver
Choose to find the driver manually and browse to the folder where you’ve extracted the zip file.
That should install the required drivers on your computer.

got it from here.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=928343
I don't see the zip file XXX_ADB_driver in the folder..
The only file that is in the folder is Flashtool_drivers.exe and ggsetup-2.2.0.11.exe

please help me.... LWW dead?

I have installed cm7 before, recently i had a problem, i think with the launcher or something it sent me into a bootloop. I need help, please... I tried to install cm9 but I always get this f... message in flashtool, that the drivers need to be installed, i already install the .exe file that is on the folder but nothing seems to work, always ask me for the drivers, how can i get them? i install cm9 without flashing the kernel first because i was desperate, now my phone shows free xperia project screen, then a black screen and that's all. I can't do anything, please help me!
Install the drivers available in flashtool/drivers folder
Edit-check whether you are using the latest flashtool

I'm supposing you are on windows
Power off phone, connect usb cable holding volume down, pc will ask for drivers, select search inside pc and let it install.
After that disconnect usb and reconnect holding vol UP, windows will ask again for drivers, do same as above.
Done this you can open flashtool and it should have no problems
And btw, if your only problem was installing the kernel there are loads of ways to do it rather than giving up to frustration and installing the rom anyways. There's a very easy and useful flash script on rage kernel page, for example..

Thanks for your replies guys, I managed to find the drivers on the web, then when it asked me for them, i just pointed the folder where i extracted the files, because installing the .exe file in flashtool drivers folder didn't work, but finally i was able to flash the kernel with flashtool, and problem solved. Now I have CM9 installed on my phone and it's great!

[Q] Xperia U with modified kernel can be upgraded to ICS by the sony site?

XperiaU have a modified kernel with android 2.3.7, want to know if I upgrade to ICS by Sony's PC Companion can cause a problem for the modified kernel. (root)
If you use a modified kernel, then you have an unlocked bootloader so you cant use Sony PC Companion! Get Flashtool and the FTF instead Its a lot faster and simpler in my opinion
If you have any doubts on howto proceed, reply here or message me
Cheers

already heard about using FlashTool if you know of any link that teaches this would be grateful if you showed. but if I tried using the PC companio what would happen?
Found this on AndroidSoul Blog and modified for relevance :
1) Now copy the “.ftf” firmware file that you downloaded for your phone, and paste it inside the “firmwares” folder.
2) Double click the “FlashTool.exe” file.
3) Once the program opens — click on the “Flash” button. Its the Lightning button on top left
4) You’ll see the firmware that you copied loaded on the screen — click “Ok”!
Now it should ask you to connect your phone to the PC. So first plug the USB cable to PC, then pick up your phone and hold the “Volume Down” key and then connect the USB cable to your phone. Remember you’ve to hold the “Volume Down” key while connecting the USB cable to phone.
Once the phone gets connected — Flashtool will automatically start the flashing process.
Keep an eye on the Flashtool’s screen.
And once the process gets finished, disconnect your phone from PC and switch it ON.
Don’t freak if it takes longer to boot (that’s normal) as the phone has to build the cache again after flashing.
That will get you started And Sony PC Companion will give an error saying modified software if you try to flash on device with unlocked bootloader
ps : Since you are flashing a rom, use Flashmode and not fastboot when asked

Help needed to revive X10i

Hello guys, how is it going?
Like 2 weeks ago, a friend gave me a Xperia X10i asking for a help on fixing it, it's from someone else and no one knows how the phone got "broke/bricked".
- First time I grab phone and press power button a red led blinked 3 times, several tries and phone sometimes just gave one red blink, other times 3, so I plugged it to charger all night.
- Next day, pulled out battery and tried again, the phone blinks green light once and vibrate for a half second, then nothing. Had to pull battery out and in again and press power button and same situation.
- Computer detects phone and ask drivers, this happens if I plug it with or without back key pessed for flashmode.
What I've tried:
- Installed PC Companion and tried a software update, program notifys me that my phone already have the lattes firmware.
- Installed SEUS and it ask me to turn phone on to update it, which is not possible at the moment.
- Tried a DOS+Java flasher with another firmware and it hangs on process (tried changing Java versions on PC, tried with 3 different OSs, 32 and 64 bits).
- Installed Flashtool and tried to flash but hangs on process too (tested 0.2 and 0.9 versions with diferent roms/kernels/java versions).
Phone still the same, once I press power button for turning on, green light blinks once and vibrate for a half second.
I up to to start all over, fresh windows/linux install (tell me which version), what java and other software versions you tell me are the best.
I've been reading over here and over there but seems that I'm missing something, or must of the times the links are dead, and can't get the decent roms and stuff.
Any help will be apreciated, thanks and regards, Andres.

I don't know what exactly happened to the phone but I think the owner has been removed some parts of software (like kernel or rom)
Do these:
1-put a sdcard in phone & try booting up(some custom kernels won't bootup without sdcard)
2-connect charger & try booting when charger is connected
#if these steps doesn't work it means it's 99/99% a software problem,so we need to reflash stock frimware:
1-download flashtools app (not latest! New versions doesn't include x10i drivers! )
2-Install it
3-download stock frimware from the net
4-go to wherever you installed flashtools& open frimware folder, paste downloaded frimware there (in ftf format, if not rename it!)
5-in the flashtool folder now open drivers folder, open & install "Gordon's gate" app then run it,
6- now open flash tools, click on lightning button & press flashmode.
7-select frimware & press next
After a while you'll be asked for attaching phone so hold back button & connect USB cable.
*You're done

Thanks for the answer, I'll give a try when reach home, all my attempts were without SIM card on it, so maybe I got luck there, thanks again.
Same results with SIM card on it, folled your step by step too.
The far I coud go was with flashtool-0.9.10.1-windows stucks on reading device info, and FlashTool_0.2.9.1-GBready_root_xRec stucks on flashing kernel.sin, it's hard to make it flash as it's like I plug phone on flashmode, it disconnects and connects again in an eye blink and flash gets aborted.
Tested on Windows 7 x64/Java 7u21 and on Windows XP x86/Java 6/u20 on same Desktop PC
Also tryied to flash some stock based kernel and CM10 custom firmware but same results.
Is there any special version for flashtool for X10i?
Maybe my drivers are bad but I have installed the ggsetup-2.2.0.11 and Windows detects phone fine.

Maybe my PC Companion version is not the right one (seems like I got lattest, it's the 2.10.136, downloaded from http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/), I've read on other threads that PC Companion has a repair function, I navigate inside Support Zone and can only see Phone Software Update, Xperia Care and recycle phone, software update just tells me that my phone already has the lattest firmware and other 2 options brings a web page up, I can't see a repair option there =/
Did any of you guys have an older PC Companion setup file to share?

Thanks, I didn't realized that the behaviour of the software was different if phone was plugged or not to the PC, the repair function only shows up if phone is unplugged... Sorry again.
Now that I can go throught the repair menu, after select the phone model the software reports "There's no software available for your device", maybe the server is down at the moment, I've tried different models and all gives me the same report, I'll give a try with some USA proxy.
Thanks again.

Already tryed all that except that I can't see the battery level as screen never turns on, but I've left the phone several nights and at the morning tryed flashing and same results, it seems to be charged as when I've recived the phone it wont try to turn on, it was only blinking red lights.
I'll try to contact SE support tomorrow, to see if they can send me the files as the software stills reporting that there are no sofware to download for my device (I'm trying every day).
Thanks again.
