[Q] Phone Rebooting Not So Randomly? [Resolved] - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello! My x10 has been rebooting whenever I change the wallpaper or when it is connected to my laptop via usb.
This has only occured recently and is starting to be annoying. Apps that I have recently installed are ADW Ex, Launcher Pro Plus, and Desktop Visualizer. Any help will be appreciated.

I had reflashed the firmware and this time did not install ResMod 1.6. The phone has stopped rebooting by itself this past week. Looking good so far.

Same here, now every 5 minutes, only app we have the same is adw ex. I will flash, probably i fukced up something again. Really hate it as i spent lots of hours in Modding my phone....

I feel your pain. Spent hours modding my phone too only for it to reboot and lose the key components of my mods. Happened when I was using Go Launcher. Uninstalled it hoping there would be a change, but phone kept rebooting afterwards too. Has happened about 5 times since last night.
My X10 had the rebooting problem after installing Desktop Visualizer and Go Launcher and before ADW Ex and Launcher Pro Plus. Meh, I don't want to uninstall Desktop Visualizer.
Could it have something to do with the micro sd card? Phone rebooted when the sd card was mounted. Wallpapers are located in sd card.

1 Q: witch firmware?

I have 2.0.2.A.0.24 X10i. Also, when I said mounted, I meant to my laptop.

Thanks anyway. I tried uninstalling Desktop Visualizer and it still rebooted when I changed ths wall paper. Also rebooted when I was checking my messages.
I know it isn't the battery as I've been keeping track of the temperature.
May have to reflash if it keeps happening.

Well, I reflashed my x10 to the latest global generic, used xrecovery to restore data and cache for my apps, installed ResMod 1.6 and my phone is still rebooting.
It still has the same issues of rebooting when I change the wallpaper, and when I answer a text. Just happened right now actually.
Any ideas of what could be the problem? I want to say it is the RedMod 1.6, no offense to xperiax10user.

i installed Xperiax10iUser ROM with the all mods and didn't have any reboot problems :O
so my advice is to try his ROM

K, I think I figured it out, for some reason I got a notification when using the SetCPU widget that to only have one widget on at a time, I deleted the weather, and Im fine.
The number of widgets doesnt really matter. You need to have all apps that use widgets saved to internal memory and all home launchers in internal as well. When you reboot or connect to the computer your sd card is unmounted so for everything to work just put them in internal memory and be patient when you reboot. If you still have problems go to adw settings and reboot adw.

Instead of using ADW on KaosFroyo, try using LancherPro; I get better performance and smoother results using LauncherPro. You can find it on the Android Market.
+1 with Launcher Pro +2 for PLUS! I have seen a drastic change in speed with this!

Problem with phone.... help

Ok heres whats happening....
first of all, my phone is rooted and i have the latest super clean and kernal.... this has been happening on a variety of kernals and roms tho..
Randomly, out of nowhere, my phone reboots. (maybe this is normal, the kernal is crashing?)
the problem is that once it comes back, i seem to be missing some system applications like my contacts app (whenever i click on contacts in the phone, it crashes, and i dont have a contacts app to click)
and sometimes, my phone Settings app.... if u try to click menu on the home screen and click settings, nothing happens..... and i cant place widgets..
I have to reodin the phone completely and start from scratch....
This happens like once every couple weeks or so....
any ideas?
Try flashing it again w/ data/cache/dalvik wipe

Has this problem happened to others or is my phone defective

It sounds like some of the apps may be incompatiable with the verison you're using. I had a somewhat similar problem when first getting into roms. It may be worth going back to stock and then reflashing to the latest SC.
Not sure.. If it was just a compatibility problem I think it would not work right away... The problem I'm having is random after a spontaneous reboot

Try fixing it by flashing stock rom then re root > rom install > cwm
Here's the guide I made

[Q] x10 Stock Apps Force Closing

I'm running Freex10 Beta 4 on my x10 with Honeycomb SJ CM 6.1.x V4.6 Theme and recently all my stock apps have been force closing. The first one is usually Calendar, then soon Gmail, Market, Media and even Settings follow it. I often get process.android.acore force closing after that as well. The force close messages happen fairly often from that point on, and the only way I can fix it is by rebooting my phone. Does anyone have a solution for this?
Well I am not sure but I know you are using a cm theme but not a cm rom. that may be the problem

definately the theme. this problem will occur for any ROM that doesnt have a theme thats compatible with it

I've tried uninstalling the theme and the problem still persisted. I flashed my phone and the problem went away for a while, but it came back after a day or so without the theme installed. :/

Finding which app is making my sg2 reboot?

Hi, I was having issues w my sg2 randomly rebooting so backed up my apps the wiped it and haven't had issues since but of course that leaves me app-less. Is there a way/app that I can log and see which app is rebooting my sg2?
Cheers

Easiest and best way would be to wipe everything and re-install your apps (I mean re-download and install, NOT restoring a backup since that's likely to cause FCs and reboots)
Recently I have had the same issue my phone randomly rebooting. Have noticed it only happens when I come back from work. Never happened while I was out, the only thing I can think of is reconnecting to my home wifi.
Will need to do more test to see if that is the case thou.

An app shouldn't be able to make your phone reboot (at least, a non-root app). The most common cause of random reboots is bad OC/UV settings. If you're running at stock clocks and voltages, on stock ROM/kernel, then you almost certainly have a hardware problem and should try to get a warranty repair if you can.
Dolphin HD has always been the cause in my experience.

There may be a crafty sneeky covert app causing the problem!! did you have any ninja games installed?
Well, my phone is rooted so that is a possibility (that maybe its s root app). I will focus on those

I have an external SD and have many apps on it. I was sure that all apps could move to SD. But had a random reboot.
Took out the SD card and the reboots disappear and as as soon as I put back the memory, it reoccurs again.
First I though it was the chip pushing against the battery and causing to reboot.
But after moving the apps back from SD to Phone (and many uninstalled) and reformat it, the reboots are gone.

when my phone was rooted i found it rebooted itself when i had usb debugging turned off, when i turned it back on the reboots stopped.
Possibly Dolphin Hd, if you installed it.

Rebooting when launching app

I installed 2.3 but my x10 kept on rebooting after a few seconds on, so i re-flashed 2.1 it is more stable but reboots when i open a app or do something that requires a good bit of ram. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
If you have a lot of apps installed and only a little bit RAM free this happens. Try to move your apps to sdcard and install unnecessary.
And one more question. How old is your battery?

i am on 2.1 right now as 2.3 keeps rebooting as soon as it starts up, so i can't move apps to the sd card, i thought it was the battery so i recently bought a new one, so its not that, i think something might be wrong with the firmware, or it could be as u said with he Ram.
