clock mod recovery
please check in this forum for a special firmware called clockmod recovery firmware you will find nandroid backup in it---its something like bios for a pc--unless you do install it in your streak you cannot install custom firmware into streak--please do not give importance to negative comments in this thread --regards--and welcome to xda forums

Has anyone installed Clockwork Mod Recovery on Dell Venue? if so, please share your install steps. I tried using rom manager app from Market and it did not list a recovery option for Venue, so I used Streak one but it did not work.
Is there a generic version available?
There is no cwm for the venue, noone has ported it.
I'm going to eventually attempt to if i can port it for the streak, without a device or a tester I'll be blindly working

Guys just got this information from my indian customer care that ginger bread will be officially released already for india in next 7 to 10 days and there are strong chances that will be worldwide.
It should have been released a lot way back but goggle being on strike the update was stopped for all.
For those on froyo please keep on checking and let to us who are on gingerbread.

The ZTE Recovery worked on mine, but you have to do fast oem unlock in fastboot mode first then flash it, then boot into recovery. Call Dell support and they will give you the unlock code for your device.
I don't think that it was gingerbread update, because the source code used to build the kernel was froyo.
And ill be very happy if I was wrong...
Sent from my Dell Venue using XDA App
that source is clearly the gb kernel source, dell didn't bother updating the readme well.
official gb is out anyway, check the general subforum
So every app I try never works androot says no fu goo and z4root crashes anyhelp please also how do I enter recovery im running 2.1 update

Search for it in the forum
Should really help you.
There are tons of thread out there for root problems.
Peace
PS: Which update of 2.1 ?
the 2.1 ... A or the 2.1....C ?
I have no pc so its kinda hard atm do you have any links

This should solve all your problems
XDA Overview
Tutorial Rooting etc.
Hope it will work for you
By the way ...
You should work with a pc ... much easier than just workin with your device (do you ?)
It's not a big deal if you got a pc, because you can get root with one-click-tool
