I recently Rooted my X10a and put "X10a_2_0_2_A_0_24_GLOBAL" on my phone.
I am extremely new to this and learning as I go.
I would like to take lots of apps off the phone that came with this OS version but I am struggling with trying to figure out how to do so. When I go into "manage applications" the applications that came with this pack I cannot uninstall.

I have been searching threads and other forums but not having much success with figuring out how to do these things with all the different phones and OS's.

EDIT: I solved this by installing ROOT EXPLORER from the app store. it was about 4$ but I could delete any of my files and set the values to R/W instead of R/O. Awesome app, just watch what you uninstall.

i want to know how to install the software that for U.S or other counteries that have market , coz the middle east version of andriod dosn't have the market so you most reinstall the andriod but as any conutry taht support market

You need to root the phone and then use an application called Market Access to set your location to US. I don't know anything about rooting the X8 sorry.

usually in middle east there is no market application to start with.
search for a vending.apk in this forum. you will find one for x10mini. i moved it to the system/app folder and gave all permisions.
rebooted and found market.
that market shows only free stuff, need to then download market access and change the operator settings to get access to paid stuff. didnt tried it myself.
If you dont want to root
you can search for anthor x8 rom like UK (market pre-installed)
flash it with SEUS or by flash tool (.sin (files))

I just updated my x10i to 2.1 using pc companion. And i want to know if i can do the following to my phone without rooting it (i dont even know whats rooting anyway).
1. Apply theme
2. Add widgets like clock, the remaining storage or anything u can suggest
3. last is font
I want to know if its possible? And maybe you can bright me up a bit about this..

well, apply themes i think is unable
adding widget depend on the app itself.. some need root to use the app
font im sure that root is needed. cos im using new font as well

hey guys since im a newbie, i cant post to the dev threads and ask questions. so i hope you guys can help me out over here.
i just installed by first custom rom, the cyanogen6.1.3 as modded by rendeiro2005; amazing rom, works brilliantly.
my only problem was that facebook, (the all black fb didnt appeal to me) doesnt update and neither does launcher pro.
i have then tried to backup them up through titanium and uninstall them, hoping that market would now dl them and install succesfully. even that didnt work. i then looked through my own back ups of apps, n ran the apks for both of them on the phone, none installed.
so now m left with no fb and no launcher pro
any help would be v much appreciated.

New to the forum and new to Android! Just changed from iPad to a Kindle Fire HD. I've been trying to get the Holo Launcher to install on it. I managed to do the root thing following the instruction on this site but I get the impression its not needed to install Holo. I downloaded a couple of versions of Holo Launcher from the Google app store, I downloaded Holo HD, the app is on the device but if I try to launch it it says it cant open, Its in the folder with the rest of the apps. As I said I'm a complete newbie to Android, I searched the site but cant find anything really relevant to this subject. Can anyone help?

Hello Guys,
I use to much information from this forum, but now I really need your help. This is what happen to me. I bought and Alcatel Fierce, when i try to put all my stuff(pictures, apps, etc) from my oldest Galaxy Ace, I used titanium backup, but i forget uncheck apps from the system so Titanium put apk´s in system/app in the Alcatel Fierce... ¿Results? Does not work Dialer, contacts, play store, Calendar... When power on, the message "unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stoped" popup.
What i Tried?
- Factory Reset
- I read to much and Flash Stock Rom is not an option, because no one have this rom(even T-mobile, or not realese in easy way)
- Put apk´s manually, downloaded from internet(FOR THIS IS MY REQUEST TO SOMEONE WHO CAN HELP ME):
Here i get some advance to fix this problem, the dialer works with a dialer.apk downloaded from internet, so i think someone who get this same phone maybe can get a copy of all apps from (system/app/) and lend me that backup.
The system information of my phone:
Original Carrier: T-mobile
Model:Alcatel one touch Fierce
Firmware: 4.2.2
Build Number: L2RUMR0
I appreciate to all people who can give me some help or ideas to fix this; if someone have this phone i sincerely thank to help me to try this metod to fix it.
