Ok so i have 3 questions in 1 thread!
I have a X10 mini pro 2.1 (U20i):
1- Has anyone "currentwidget" working on this phone?!
I installed it and the widget shows always Error (i have root access).
Any help is appreciated!
2- How to maximize battery consumption!?! It's barely holding 15hrs of minimal use!!! Wiped the battstats and didn't have so much improvement!
Any help is appreciated!
3- I need arabic support for the phone! Does somebody have it working?!? Where can i find libs, frameworks...?!
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks

Had you known that, you would have took the time to
(1) Check the wiki.
(2) Post one thread for every question you had.

I'm guessing like the other 50+ viewers they didn't know what you were asking until they actually viewed your post. Consumption, Battery, Arabic doesn't give much away. For all we know, you could have been asking about memory usage, buying a new battery, and an arabic font pack!
Well not bad! I managed to get ur 2 replies guys!

U r right about reading but i don't have so much time! But about a thread for every question, u r wrong! I did that to minimize threads, time, replies, space, human resources
Thanks man for the link

Ok, this is the solution to about half of your problems .
http://forum.xda-developers.com/announcement.php?f=263#td_post_81
And let's see if I can answer those questions!
1. It does not work, at least the one in the market... It's for the nexus one, there is a ported version for the vibrant too, but I'm not sure if it will work either. Anyway, it's a bit of a stupid program, go buy System Panel.
2. It is more about running proceses than anything. Best app you could download to see what is running wildly, System Panel (and yes, pay for it), or just take some other task killer, like Advanced Task Killer, and see what runs without you wanting too. You should uninstall that crap. Start with Timescape. That app is truly pure crap.
Ah, also, put the widget Power Control (which come included) and try to keep everything deactivated as long as you can. Each of those things SWALLOW battery, more than eat. Put APNdroid, and keep internet deactivated too. Download Setcpu (it's free in this forum) and put the minimum Hz to 128 (the minimum you can put).
What else... eliminate all the SE **** you can and whenever you are not using the phone, kill all the running apps with Advanced Task Killer. Or you can use Autokiller, didn't work for me.
Put a battery percentage icon too. You will notice when something is eating your battery with it. If you don't want a theme, use Battery Indicator.
3. Sorry, don't know what the hell I could use that for. Open a thread for this.
EDIT: looked att your profiel, and man, you are no noob, why the hell are you asking how to improve your battery? It is a standard, androids consume if you let them, nothing else. If you really need battery, underclock it with setcpu and problem solved.

First of all thanks for your reply!
About current consumption I'll try also "battery monitor widget" to see if it works!
Man i asked those bcz i'm not a perfect noob (we all are noobs at some point); i'm concentrating my efforts on my HD2 and i dont have so much time for this X10 minipro; so i asked bcz maybe there is some kind of a trick or a known bud/problem that may decrease battery consumption!
About downclocking, my own experience (and many others) shows that it doesn't affect battery much (barely 5 to 10% so it's not worth it) and besides it introduces instabilities so i prefer not to tweak anything about CPU.
However i thank for re-introducing the autokiller memory to my mind bcz i completely forgot it although i'm using it on my HD2!!! hahaha
Oh, no problem then, dude ^^ mm downclocking does work for me, i believe :/ anyway, the best memory optimizer is autokiller, trust me in that see you around!!

To me the name this thread looked as if you´ve found a piece of software which solves these three problems.
Just to address your battery problem - no there is no solution unless you cut off data transmission or use GPRS instead of 3G. 15 hours is decent time.
Can´t say anything about Arabic, though.

hehe feel free to do what you want man!
But sometimes when you need answers you need good ways to ask the questions!
My battery lasted many hours longer after disabling data traffic. I only enable data traffic when needed then immediately disable it again. There's a built in widget to enable/disable data traffic.

Another "I found solution for battery" Thread :/
I think these threads should be made at the general section rather than in development.
At least untill we find a guaranteed solution, otherwise this sub-forum is going to be filled with crap
That was just "My" Opinion
Umm i don't think so since the update don't have any fixes for battery drainage on HD2! LOL?

actually same performance with the 7004 version,
i only just notice that it improves my battery, i dont know if this works for others
I've found the solution, maybe.
hd2 to connect my power supply, turn off the system reboots itself, and the battery lasts 2 days.
but I want to test well.
if someone wants to try ...
i updated the rom ,turn off, the system reboots itself. turn off again. i put my batt in a box. now im wondering how long my battery life will be. mod please close this thread.

I also found a solution to battery drainage, although it is a bit different than those above and it lasts for 3 days now!
I found that if you boot into WP7, then launch Android ADB (YES, ANDROID ADB), then type:
connect /dev/wp7
rm batt_stat.dat
Remove the cable WITHOUT CLOSING ADB, reboot the device & run around your home holding your HD2 as high as you can. Believe it or not - this worked for me. Don't ask "why" or "how" - I don't know, I found this trick on some chineese forums.

Lol maybe the battery will drain less in an area with very little gravity.
On a more serious note does anyone know of a list with apps that are safe

Yea I saw. See my edit. Feel silly now lol.
Just do a factory reset fixed all my problems and my phone came with KE7 installed I didn't upgrade to it.
Battery life went from 10 hours to a day and a half
after lot of tests, i discover that was the calendar sync. In idle mode my phone drain 5-7% per hours without 1% per hour.
After I uninstalled all the useless battery draining system apps, my system doesn't use alot.. like 2-5% , but my screen is getting 50-60% everytime!
I allready tryd different settings, but still, it attacks.
Do someone here have a friend with a SGS2 with good battery life !?
Try to change the battery for 1-2 days and see if its better or not, so we can know if its the battery thats need to be changed!!! report pls !

I doubt EVERYBODY that posts in these forums have a faulty battery. It MUST be software related. So many "faulty batteries" would be a great cause for concern.
from my understanding its 50% user and 50% the version of gingerbread were running.
Im coming from an atrix which has great battery life. A little bit of optimization which the great devs are doing is definitely helping.
I am currently running mini cm7 2.0.2, is it okay to follow the thread regarding battery drain fix (thread below)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1078100&page=2
or do you have any advice to me on how to maximize the battery life of my newly installed minicm7 2.0.2 because i can see that the battery is killing the phone very well.
help me please.
I think this fix is useless... at least nobodyatall said so and he is the developer of CM
Some advice I got:
- Undervolt
- Don't Overclock
- Use Zeam Launcher
- Avoid background data sync / GPS
- Condition battery
- Don't use any system monitoring Apps (IE advanced task killer / startup auditor)!!
At 72% after a day's full use
I suppose no widgets or animations would improve further. But what's the point.......
I never said it's useless (the battery calibration is always good). Placebos are good too, see how many say they have good results?!?!

ok sir. about the battery drain fix. i find the procedure quite complicated that is why i am asking if it is worth the risk after all so i can decide if i pursue doing it or not. but i guess it is not.
so i dont mind draining my battery so fast as long as i am enjoying the rom.
that is why a thing called "charger" is made.

ok. dont be rude man. dont be rude.
Since we have Q&A stickies in the Inspire and Captivate forums (as well as a few other fora around here), I thought we need a general CM7 Q&A here for the Atrix.
BEFORE ASKING QUESTIONS IN THE FORUMS, ASK YOURSELF:
Has this question probably come up so often that there is an FAQ that includes it?
OFFICIAL CM7 FAQ FROM THE ATRIX-DEV TEAM
Phalanx7621 said:
I know how much people LOVE to post questions in here as if it's the CM7 ROM and get all pissy about how things dont' work, but keep in mind that if that were true and a bunch of stuff didn't work it would NOT have been made part of the nightly CM7 releases. Also, it wouldn't have been released if that were the case. The devs work very hard to make sure most major problems are taken care of before every release, but if yer flashing A NIGHTLY, keep in mind it comes with NO promises of functionality and it is STATED in the OP that it shouldn't be used as a daily driver. So if you have a stable version, such as the lastest stable version found on the development page OP, then post a question or comment here after searching for the answer with search feature here and google. Otherwise, there's a Nightly post section as well in the Development side if you wanna look there and that's what yer using. Most of the time if there is a major issue and you can't find it on the bug tracker than it's yer phone, or something you have installed that is messing with the functionality of the ROM. Lastly remember folks, it's the developers job to make their product work with the ROM, not the other way around. Have fun, happy flashing!

You know what ? Its a damned good idea. Too many people are cluttering the development thread. Now since no one else has posted a question related to CM7, I have one:
Can someone help me figure out what is eating my battery on standby ?? I don't have that power hungry facebook app and I did some tweaks found ( via SetCPU ) that I found in the development thread, but it made very little difference. The thing is, I just have no idea how to monitor what is using all the power. How did they figure out that facebook was causing a big drain ?
Do you use google latitude?
A very good thing is use BetterBatteryStats to really understand where the CPU is being keept awake. The embed battery stats for example only showed me Android OS as a culprit, but gave me no further details..
my 2 cents
i have heard CPU Spy is great for figuring out whats using up your resources. dont know as i tend to get pretty good battery life (16+ hours with exchange push enabled)
Thanks for the tips. Yes, I do/have used latitude. I'll put an end to that and give those apps a try. Will report back!

Do you by chance have Tango installed? I had it for all of 2 days and noticed my battery died about twice as fast as it normally would. I usually get a good 16+ hours easy with moderate use but was only getting about 9 with the same usage. Did a quick google search and verified tango was the culprit. Uninstalled and back to normal. I don't know if this applies to any other video call apps but might be worth looking into.

Think I already read something about it, but cannot find right now... What's the deal with /mnt/emmc and /sdcard in cm7 ? Is it possible to get it back like the stock rom ?

You need to go into Setting/CyanogenMod settings/Application, check "Use internal storage" then reboot your phone and it should be back to how it was before.
Betterbatterystats seems to have found some interesting things. Phone on for 1hr and ten minutes.
Under partial wakelocks:
Lightflow: 1hr10m3s
AlarmManager: 58m13s
JuiceDefender:55m44s
There is more ( I can provide screenshot if required ), but those are the top three.
I do find this a little odd. Juice defender was just installed the other day and I can't see how it would cause any problems. Battery was a bit crappy before and didn't get any better/worse. I froze lightflow the other day and battery drain was about the same.
filthyfnj24: Nope no Tango.
I can provide a list of apps if would help as well.

EDIT: upon further investigation I have narrowed down AlarmManager as causing a lot of partial wake locks, but I dont have any alarms set and have not synced my calendar and have the Calendar alerts turned off. However Suspend is showing as a problem as well.
I'm using BetterBatteryStats, SpareParts, and the stock battery manager to try and track this down.
Well, after eliminating Lightflow and turning off Beautiful Widgets small weather, things are improving. Instead of losing 5% per hour on standby, it is now down to about 3%. Juice defender and Alarm manager are still at the top of the list, In 2hrs and 18min I have:
Alarm manager 33m12s
Juice defender 27m56s
So, Juice Defender is next on the list. The funny part is I know that CM7 is causing this. Battery used to last near forever on standby.
Great idea... Stickied. You may also want to check out the atrix-dev-team FAQ and consider suggesting Q/A posts from this thread or links to other posts in other threads, for updates to that FAQ.
Ever since I upgraded from pre-beta 4 to Beta, my phone has had two horizontal deadzone lines on the touchscreen. This persists from ROM to ROM, and is getting to be annoying. I have no warranty, as I bought the phone from a guy who won it in a contest, unlocked it and brought it to another carrier.
Is there any chance that this is a software issue, and can be repaired?
I got it !!!!
Alarm Manager is no longer a problem. Phone now sleeping correctly. I disabled background date, topped off the battery and verified via Betterbatterystats. Now if we could disable background data while it sleeps and re-enable it when you wake it up then we'd be set.

even pre-historians knew that
OK Gang, give the guy a break!!
He's found something that some people may find useful, i know that for must of us veteran flashers and testers, it's a no-brainer and we use the clear stats through recovery, but this app has an alarm etc I believe. It might save on more questions being posted on the threads so more important issues can be concentrated on!!
Stodgy, don;t stop posting interesting things you find, even if they are not of use to everybody, they might be to someone!!!
I agree with adoneil!! thankss stodgey!! I have flashed several roms, but I only did something with the battery once... afeter installing minicm 2.1.5 i wiped battery status... However I find this battery calibrator easier to use and a good tool to have near... No matter how long we visit this page, everyday we can learn something new!!
The guy is a new comer, he has posted something useful. Then why the debate?
In my opinion, the calibration matter doesn't make that much improvement.
it is useful but he doesn't need to post every app he finds
I use to use this method with that app.. but know I am making it manually by following this http://theultralinx.com/2011/07/calibrate-androids-battery.html
