Hello I installed on my HD2 BatteryLine but I did not like so uninstalled it, but I have a problem. The HTC Sense does not start, is trying to start and can not. It seems that the files got corrupted. What can I do to solve without resorting to a hardreset?
I have similar problem
When turned on my HTC HD2 (O2-UK) I can see on blue screen: ''Unable to start HTC Sense, tap here to try again.'' It happened after I left its battery completaly flat. When I recharged it I had this problem.
If I press middle button (windows) I can get to Start menu, net connection works too, but I can not make phone-call and I can not to reach my contacts. I have done soft restart but it did not help. Thanks for answer.

Have you already read this thread? It might help ...
Thaks,
I have found:
Yes, actually I managed to remove that tweak without hard reset it, reverted it to FATFS=0 and everything came back to normal, my HD2 is now like it was before.
but how can I do it?

I havn´t used that tweak - and I do not know, how to revert it ... But first question to you should be, whether you have taken use of that tweak. If not you shouldn´t change anything in this area ...
Same thing happened to me used task 29 and it fixed itself.
also did not use that rom again.

I believe most people face this problem. I hv no solution to it, but I personally believe this is not a hardware prob and it can be solved. Hope to start this thread so everyone can discuss this together and come up with something.
got this from other thread...

put registry editor shortcut in \windows\startup
put wififix.reg in \Program Files
all this does is set the HTCPreloadwifi=1 everytime i need to reset my device. i think the problem is the value was resetted to 0 everytime you reset your device. That's why the wifi doesnt work. not sure if this works for everyone. but for me its working nearly everytime.

is this a good idea?
Pehaps it is useful to give some more specific details. Indeed there are several users that run in to these problems, but many more (including myself) never experienced any misbehaviour whatsoever. There must be a difference somewhere.....
i faced the prob which when u set the HTCPreloadwifi to 1, it revert back to 0 after soft reset. then i found that this is actually bcoz of the file "WiFiInit", which is in the startup. so i removed it from the startup, set the HTCPreloadwifi to 1, then power off and on it instead of soft reset (soft reset might work, just play safe.)

rondol1, will you stay here in this thread. who knows, we might spot the difference between your "working" device and our "half-working" device. appreciate that.
The point is, I never changed anything after flashing the ROM and WIFI works right away. I have noticed that with WEP encryption enabled things don't go that smooth. Without security OR with WPA enabled, I don't experience any problems with WIFI. About Bluetooth, I really don't use it, only to connect my TomTom GPS receiver and that give no problem whatsoever. But that comparison isn't fair, cos the TomTom app takes care of it by itself, without the general WM6 settings.
Perhaps it's good to mention that I use the latest WM6 builds, I red your post in some threads from older ROM's too. Could be that those earlier release had more bugs on this point.
i'm using Fantastic Mobiz v2.0b4....actually wanna to load up other new wm6, but instead of avoiding, i think we shd try to solve the problem..
anyway, i am thinking about whether there is anything wrong with the registry that caused the prob, or any 3rd party software that is interrupting the bluetooth's functioning. is there any way to "compare" the registries?
I don't know, but I hardly use any 3d-party software. And about solving the probs on early WM6 builds: isn't that a Microsoft job? If there is a problem in the OS, we don't gonna solve it by changing some regs!

haha...ya...but i meant a cooked version of wm6. the developer might hv added something which works on his but not on others. any assumption hv to take into consideration. i guess that is how most probs are solved.
seems like no one patronize this thread...ahah , anyway i will still try to update what i've discovered until the next version of rom is up. who knows, people might be desperate and found this thread. i just hope someone will join in the discussion or i will look like a bloody fool who participates in my own thread.
right now, i insert btdwake and btlauncher to my startup folder. it works most of the time (not sure it works bcoz of the files that i put in the startup folder).
i still think that it might be a registry problem. will compare the registry with a working set's one of these days.
I've got also a problem when trying to enble Wifi, what you've done exactly? Does it works?

hi Gaexu. well...it is easy to make things work, but problem lies on the steps that make them work. enabling my wifi is fine, but not perfect.
I suppose your prob is when u go to comm manager, click on the "Wlan", then u see the radar (loading), after that, nothing happened, the icon still show the grey icon with the cross.
steps:
1.)first you gotta remove a file called "WiFiInit" from \windows\startup\ folder.
2.)next, go to the registry using PHM Registry Editor. go to HKLM\Comm\TNETWLN1\Parms, there are 2 reg dwords - "HTCPreloadStatus" and 'HTCPreloadWifi". change their value to "1".
3.)power off the device and on it back.
the reason to remove "WiFiInit" from startup is bcoz it seems to cause "HTCPreloadStatus" value to revert back to "0" after a soft reset. actually i've remove a few more things from startup, but i dun think there is any "linkage".
sorry about this, but don't expect the wifi to be enabled as easy before upgrading (at least not for me). to enable the wifi for the first time (after you soft reset everytime), go to comm manager, click on WLAN. then the radar thingy comes out, rotate a few round and disappear. while it is rotating, observe the "G" on top, it changes to the wifi icon and revert back to the "G". that means wifi is detected. click on WLAN again, and same thing will happen. now, push the on/off button to black out the screen(standby mode) and turn on again. wifi comes alive.
i am too long winded. this is my first time in my life typing more than 6 lines in a forum. do let me know if it doesn't work. good luck.
Thanks for your help
The Wifi works, but just for about 30seconds or 1minute... then it turns off
does anyone know this problem?
I will try it again and again,
thanks

hv u change the value in the registry?
Yes, "HTCPreloadStatus" and 'HTCPreloadWifi" have the decimal value 1.
HTCResumeWifi = 0
I will retry it with another network (not the one from my University) maybe it works...
Gaexu, so how's your bluetooth? working perfectly?
i looked through the registry and found that many of the bluetooth keys are incomplete after comparing with other devices...but i need to extract more info from a workin prophet...
Hi scarymoviesg
Now my Wifi works perfekt (not with the one from the University but with all the others)
Thanks a lot!!!!!

I'm on a 5060 build using the Kitchen. I have HTC Home, S2U2, and anything else that was defaulted in the settings from the basekit.
I had the same problem on DCD 3.0.1 and nue 5054 and 5059. I was told it was advanced config, so I reflashed 5059 without AC, then 5060 without it. The device worked great yesterday, but this morning I couldn't answer the phone again.
I had found something that added a change soft key setting to the systems tab, I installed that and changed the setting to messaging instead of calendar, and that's when the issue returned, so I figured it was something to do with the that. I did a hard reset but the issue still remains. My next resort is a re-flash, but I really don't want to go through all that if I can avoid it.

What do you mean you cannot answer your phone?
The calls don't go through, you cannot use the send key, what's up?
I press the answer softkey or the hardware key, and it doesn't work most of the time. It will mute the ringer, but will not answer the call.
This has been discussed elsewhere in this forum and on brand X. I also had a problem with the phone not answering. If you believe what they say....and I've tried it and it seems to be working for me now......reload a ROM without Advanced Config. This seems to be the common thread to the problem....Now my calls answer almost immediately. Try it...see if it solves the problem
I did that. My 5060 build didn't have AC in it at all.
Do you have SPB Pocket Plus installed? I had the same problems, but it hasn't returned since I uninstalled PocketPlus...
Nope. No SPB. Only default 5060 basekit and HTC home/S2U2.
I've actually gone ahead and re-flashed back to Sprint 3.35, which sucks because I really really liked the 6.1 threaded SMS, but a phone that I can't answer doesn't really do me any good.
I'll just have to wait for an official 6.1 I guess.

the new PocketCM comes with threaded text..
A little update.
The GPRS_bye_if_device_off registry hack is what was causing me not to be able to answer my phone. It was supposed to improve battery life.
I had ran no2chem 5060 for a few weeks without it happening, then went to DCD 3.0.4 and it didn't happen until last night, I tried that hack. Sure enough, after the reboot, that hack is what did it. I was doing this hack just to test that theory so had a back up. I restored it and now the phone works properly again.
Anyone know how to solve this problem?? The phone won't go into standby mode. it just stays at the lock screen

Well that lock screen in the video is not the stock lock screen, what mod are you using on it ....

But going to join you in saying it again ...
Like i said, i done a hard reset and the problem still exist, which means that the problem does not lies on CHT.
btw i am not using CHT, this video that i posted is just for reference of my problem. (which the phone does not go into standby mode and need activesync in order for it to enter standby mode) the lockscreen that i am using is the orginal HD2 lockscreen.
Same Problem
I'm having the exact same problem with my hd2. I've tried the following things to resolve it:
- Soft reset
- Hard reset
- Task 29 reset
- Formatting my sd card
- Using Artemis and Chuckyrom, both same problems
I'm going to try a stock rom now and look if that works.
Are there more people having this problem? any solutions? Tx!
EDIT: I've installed the stock rom and replaced HSPL with SPL. I'm still having the same problem. I'm going to send it to the manufacturer. Good Luck!
Would you be so kind to come back with the result ? This is a very confusing problem. There are lots of people suffering from this already !
solved
i two have had this problem and have just found out how to sort it out. basically i tried everything new radio, rom, getting rid of CHT
and in the end all it was is the usb connection!!!!
all you have to do when unplugging your usb cable is make it come out on a angle left to right. there are obviously some very delicate contacts that get knocked out of kilter making the phone think its still on mains power when its not hence never turning off
you can confirm this error by unplugging your phone going into backlight settings and seeing if you can adjust you light setting on battery power if when you adjust your light setting nothing happens you got the same prob as me
Turned my phone off then on this morning now sense wont load and i can't load the default windows theme either?! Can't get any reception either its all screwed up?!!
Is there anything i can do to get it working without having to hard reset?

I had a similar issue with inability for Sense to load when I had installed some analog watches on my device to go with my Cookies' Home Tab. Maybe it's too late now for me to start talking about this, as you must have worked the problem out by now, but all I had to do to resolve this was to install a .cab file with the original CHT analog clock and restart my phone. I remember I was only able to use the Start button to launch any programs, and I had freaked out myself, but it's been a while for me too, so it is enough not to panic, think clear, read relevant threads here and ask the right questions to the right thread, probably the ones that directed you to change something on your phone. Hope everything's OK now for you. Cheers
Duke
Try this take off battery for 5min and sim card also then put everything back and tur on you phone. Good Luck
I had similar problem with not starting the Sense. Maybe it is not your case but maybe it helps. Sometimes my HD2 started without Sense - just the wallpaper on the screen. I went to Setting -> Today and checked the Sense home plugin. Saved and Sense started to load again. I don't know why the plugin was unchecked and what application did it but it just was.
This worked for me...
I knackered Sense by trying out the e-reader tab. For me, this worked: -
Disable Sense
Restart device
Install attached cab
Restart device
Enable Sense
Restart device
Got it from a thread about the e-reader tab where someone else had suffered problems with Sense on trying to remove it.
Good luck!
The cause of your problem can be the Android if you're trying or using it from your SD Card! If you are, pull out your card and try to load Sense again!
I also had similar problems, and it turned out that the reason of my problem was the Android... perhaps it changed or modified some important files inconnection with Sense, or I don't know...

Can a Hard Reset be performed without the battery? Have not known this before... Or this master reset thing is not the same as the hard reset?
bonjour j ai eu le meme probleme resolu:cht home qui plante , faire sauvegarde de sa config cht puis le desinstaller et reinstaller et sa remarche
i just notticed today that wheni call my voicemail none of the phone onscreen buttons work
keypad, end call, speaker etc are all non functional. i have to press the hardware key to end call.
im using CHT EDITOR with stock TMO rom
could be 2 things related to MinimumTapTime for screen sensitivity:
1. Do you have BSBtweak installed? DO NOT change the MinTapTime setting. Revert it.
2. Did you do tweak#44 MinTapTime from SBOY2000's HD2 tweaks thread? change that value back to what it was.
didnt tweak anything ust used bsb tweaks and changed it back to normal
still same.
at the moment i cant even get to the phone screen
the phone is completely fn cracked out.
im seriously on losing my patience with this sht, 3 phones cant be all having same issues thats just impossible unless the OS is ****.
yesterday i installed the WCX ILLUMINATI SERIES HD2 EURO/TMOUS 21911 2017
rom and it worked fine
call screen worked and keypad as well
i installed the BSB tweaks and cookie tab home
and getting same thing now the whole call screen is inactive
cant even push the hardware end button to end the call
and an error popped out:
a problem has occured with cprog.exe
the phone is very buggy in general with the cookie tab and bsbtweaks
ok so i just tested with both of them setup separately and both of them make my phone screen go stupid.
with bsb tweaks it doesnt turn on at all
with cookie tab it calls but then none of the buttons work on it not even hardware end call...
god damn i hate this phone, less than a week i own it and im about to throw it at the wall.
is anything supposed to work with microsoft at all?
wtf is active about active sync? it takes 50 tries to get one connection
sorry for the language but this is relaly fn frustrating.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
You returned the phone twice because you keep installing an incompatible program and getting an error????????? Then why do you keep installing that program??????????? You're giving WindowsMobile users a bad name.
*HINT 1:Check what date BSBTWEAK was made. IT IS NOT MADE FOR THE TMO USA HD2! If somehow you feel you must use it, DO NOT FIDDLE WITH THE "TAP TIME" SETTING WITHIN BSBTWEAK.
*HINT 2: DISABLE COokie's Home Tab Lockscreen, it causes more trouble than it's worth.
