i have boght dell streak a few days ago from best buy with an at&t lock
with 1.6 android and 6601 build.
i have tried to root the divice but probebly used a bad rom or incorrect version of rom, i have flashed it with fast boot and the divice wont turn on i have tried to recovery from power+volume keys but with no success i have tried to flash it sevral times with diffrent vrsions of img and also with out success and now when i pres the recovery from sd recovery the screen go blcak and glowing.
i d'ont have any more ideas somone has a soulotion.
First of all just stop guessing... that will cause more harm then good.
What you want to do is get the QDL tool from streakdroid.com and select their GUIDS page then follow their instructions. They have videos and FAQ's that will help walk you through the process. I could explain for you, but they have it down perfctly.. If you get stuck on any one of their steps please let us know and I will try to help explain.

Okay so i rooted my hero some time ago and ive installed several custom roms on it fine without problems, but two days ago i tried to install a new rom and now my hero wont boot at all! i can enter recovery mode just fine and even flash new roms but nothing seems to work, when i turn it on it stays on the black htc screen. i did a nandroid backup and put it on my computer and back on my device but when i try and load it the device cant find it. So im going to sprint tomorrow cause i need a phone, but they will just tell me i voided the warranty.. can someone please help me!!
go into recovery, go through all the wipe options, flash the rom you want. then it will boot.
Helo guys..i need a serious help... i have a dell streak UKlocked and im using it in india. i didnt use the streak for 2 months. it was switched off and inside the cupboard. now i got it out and it is behaving wierdly...it wont start up and if it starts up also slight usage make the leds go blink for 3 times and the screen goes blank with the leds on...i checked in various forums and rooted the device with superboot and then in some forum a guy told me that my phone has problem with the boot so format the boot and reinstall android 2.1 in it...i did tht and now the streak automatically restarts after dell logo or after o2 logo..and it is like happening over and over...can someone of u kindly suggest me as what shud i do in a step wise manner..please..i tried various forums but no one answered..please guys im a newbie please help me out PLEASE

It sucks when something so important to you needs an answer right away.
There are some great tutorials on here and at modaco that go over everything easily.
The basics are to load a new recovery, probably 309 and then download and flash a new pkg file. If your streak is O2 then I believe the latest is froyo 319.
If your looking to stay on 2.1, I am not quite sure. I started at froyo.

Okay so I just bought this streak about 2 hours ago. It is a dell streak straight from dell with 2.2 already on it. When I bought it i did a factory reset and 2.2 was still on it. So i get home and I attempt to root the phone. The root seemed to work....and now im stuck at the dell logo. Im freaking out! I was so happy
The root method was SuperOneClick. I was reading on a forum somewhere and somebody suggested that I use that. I tried to do a hard reset, but that did not help me.
Can somebody suggest what I should do? Ive searched forums for two hours now and cant find a way for the situation im stuck in. The other problem is I cant get the Dell PC Suite properly installed on my computer....

Turn it on again, just give it some time to boot. Worst comes to worst use QDL Tool from Streakdroid.com.
Its not that simple...ive rooted phones before.
Anways, i just got done installing Clockwork recovery mod so im making some progress.
I dont know how to find what build number I have though since my streak wont turn on. Will this be a problem?
I figured it out! If anyone else runs into a similar problem i used QDl Tool!

hi i am having dell streak which was purchased from ebay usa and delivered to india . yesterday it was working well and then i restarted it and after restart it stuck on boot screan dell logo and side all three button lites also flash with it .
i tried to restore it to factory settings but nothing happened .
also i used this tutorial - forum.pocketables.net/showthread.php?t=9694-Universalt Instructions for Flashing the Streak and used qdl too but still it have same issue.
after using the above tutorial when i try to install update.pkg from memory card via option 2. it says E: can't mount sdcard and also few lines were there .
plz help me out in this issue.

Everything you need to know is in that guide... if the QDL tool finishes its course and you still have troubles I would suggest flashing the latest recovery image and retail ROM and see if that helps

hi i am still in trouble and can't able to flash it can you provide me any guide that will help me to flash the streak , also why my streak shows e:can't mount sd card
while i use option 2 to restore it via update.pkg
The pockatables link you went to explains everything you need to know to flash the Streak. Here's another link: Everything You Wanted To Know About The Streak But Were Too Busy Bricking It. Now, if you cannot figure out how to flash the Streak from that, I wouldn't bother trying because you will brick it.
This is my first post on this forum and very new to rom-ing, so I'm sorry if I didn't post it in the right section, but I was trying to rom cyanogen mod on my Samsung Captivate by using Rom Manager. I had rooted my phone and it was also running 2.1.
I followed all the instructions from the forums on how to install a rom step by step, but as soon as the phone rebooted, my phone has been stuck on the model number screen with the Samsung logo on the bottom and its been about more than an hour that it hasn't moved.
So, now I m not sure if i should take out my battery and and go into recovery, or it will totally brick the phone because i have no idea if it is bricked or not. I also made a Nandroid Backup before this, so I was wondering if i can just take the battery off and go into recovery mode and do a restore?
If someone could help me, please let me know as soon as possible, and thank you in advance!
Update: I tried pulling the battery, and booting into recovery mode, but the start up screen just keeps flashing when I hold on to the 3 button combo. And when I don't, it just stays on the logo screen.
If you have a backup,restore! If u havent a back up: Flash a stock rom via flash tools...
