Hi Peeps,
I have a problem.
When i connect my HD2 to my Win7 PC it will not connect.
I run android in my SIG, and all details are in there.
When i'm in Android, it just gives the message about debugging.
When I go to bootloader, at first i see serial, when i put the cable in notthing happens.
Normaly it goos and find the driver for qualcomm, but notting now.
Tryed my other PC also on Win7, same issue.
I dont have WinMoDeCenter op my pc, and don't have htc sync on it.
been searching for many hours now....
Does anybody have the solution for me?
Would be great.
UPDATE: Now @ work connection is ok.. must be missing driver on pc @ home

Will try it, but I work with ext4 on my rom.. donno how it will do.
At work all is fine.
I think I need the driver, but can't seem to find it online....

hey everyone I am wondering if you are able to help me.. I recently upgraded to modacos custom rom V3. I have been using it for a while now an during that time i have had to wipe my laptop, i lost everything on there.. When I rebooted the laptop an tried to connect my Hero to it I am unable to mount my phone.. It doesnt show up on the notifications screen, i have installed HTC sync an rebooted the phone an still nothing. If any1 is able to help me thatd be great..

Check if 'HTC driver' is installed as well; you should be able to find it in the "HTC" folder in your start menu if it is. If you can't find it, try reinstalling HTC Sync to make sure the drivers are installed.
hey steven, yeah the driver is installed.. I am going to uninstall HTC sync an re download it , hopefully it works after that. if anyone else has any ideas thatd be great.. thanks guys
Have you tried:
1. Attaching the device to a different PC
2. Using different USB cables
Note that several people on these forums have found that changing cable has worked for them, even though the cable that didn't work seemed to be fine for other devices, so it is definitely worth a try.

hey mate, i just reinstalled htc sync & no luck there.. I have already tried connecting on other computers an no luck there, i will look for another cable next week sometime an hopefully that helps.. thakns for your help.. cheers, brett.

For anyone else having problems with mounting, make sure you're connected to a USB 2.0 port. I had the same problem but everything started to work once plugged in to USB 2.0

Hi all,
I've read a couple of threads for several days now, but none of the answers worked for me.
Problem is: I can connect from my HD2 to my desktop PC (win 7) initially, but when I try to install a new ROM (3.14.407_2), my HD2 restarts, shows the four colour screen and nothing more happens. After some minutes, my PC tells me that my phone isn't connected anymore.
It worked two months ago for the last ROM flash, but now nothing helps.
Tried:
- rebooting PPC and PC several times
- deleting partnership and setting up a new one
- disabling "faster connect" for usb to PC settings - afterwards, PC doesn't recognize any connection at all
- hard reset on PPC
I have no idea what to try next.. I wanted to install HSPL2 and flash the ROM from my SD card, but can't install HSPL2 ... same problem.
Any suggestions?

You think the HD2 USB port is broken? But I was able to transfer data when connected as normal device without active sync.
Do I have any chance to check, whether you are right, without having to send my phone to HTC?
maybe running the update in compatibility mode will help?
I thought the microsoft mobile device center (or however it is called) was made for win7, as the actual activeSync tool cannot be used?
So I can't see a benefit from this, but anyway.. I will try.
You could try using BlueTooth with ActiveSync, thats what I do. I have a "micro" bluetooth adaptor for my laptop and it all works fine... just a bit slower.

the compatibility mode for the ROM update file could help becasuse it is a separate application (no guarantee though as I have no way to check it on my PC)
compatibility mode didn't help.
don't have a bluetooth stick ...

Just found out, that windows tries to install driver "Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM" when I connect my HD2 after starting bootloader.
But it just searches and doesn't find anything. I searched by myself, but didn't find the driver anywhere ...
if you are really determined to update ROM, find the thread on ROM 3.14 here on xda forum, I recall seeing guidelines on installing ROM from SD Card
of course it will not solve your sync problem, but still...
Yah ... I wanted to install HSPL2 to be able to do install the ROM from the SD card (at least that's what I understood - that I need that first), but I can't install it, as I already wrote.
I GOT IT!!!
Finally.. in a forum somewhere in a forgotten corner of the internet.. someone gave an advice to uninstall the windows mobile device center and reinstall it.
After uninstalling, I had some trouble to find it again, but finally got it.
And guess what: it works now.
Windows managed to install the quadcomm driver and I could update my ROM.
Never had such a hard challenge with my HD2.

Hi I have a T-Mobile Vibrant and everything was working excellent till today... I took some pictures on the beach and when my girlfriend asked me for the pictures, I plugged the phone to the PC but it didn't recognized the phone. I had installed the samsung vibrant drivers but it is not working! I cant even use the AIO Vibrant Toolbox to put it in download mode for flashing to stock! Im desperate! Please Help! Hope is not a dead usb port!

Hi I tried using those drivers but they didn't work... I formatted my pc tio see if it was a problem with pc but everything is the same... Vibrant knows it is connected it sounds when connected... Pc just says unrecognized device... Dont know what to do... What else can I do...?
try to go to computer->control pannel->remove new device (vibrant) , reainstall drivers (without phone connected) , connect your phone let windows find Your phone )
if that didnt help 1.before windows boots press F8 which will boot you in tree which will give you few options , 2 click on option which says DISABLE SIGNATURE VERIFICATION 3. REINSTALL DRIVERS 4. CONNECT YOUR PHONE .
anther option is go to phone go to 1.SETTINGS 2.APPLICATIONS 3.DEVELOPMENT 4.CHECK USB DEBUGGING
One more 1. Settings 2. Applications 3. Usb 4. Enable mass storage instead of kies or music player .

Did you ever get this working? I'm having the same issues. I've tried 3 different computers and 2 different operating systems, all that I used last week without any problems. My phone is definitely not in Debug and it's definitely on Mass Storage. What gives?

I don't think it's corrosion. I see all the pins fine with no wear on both the cables and the phone.
i bricked mine awhile back...and it wouldnt connect to windows 7 but would on vista.......dont ask me why but both my wifes and mine wont connect to either pc we have....have to remove external card and move things around like that.....sucks.

I did look around a bit more, and found out about a thing called "USB unbrick." Looks interesting, but I can't do it from work, since I don't have ADB/Kies/etc here. I'll try it out when I get home this evening.

I have KIES, i try on my PC, and on my Laptop. Reinstall KIES and drivers, nothing help. I read on google and i think is a cable problem, (same problem whit other android phones, like HTC) i purchase new one but will came after few weeks, so i need to wait If anyone have problem like this, or have any idea please share...

i had the same problem. I took a backup of the rom with cwm and restored it and it was working fine, dunno how
Guys you need the Samsung usb drivers ....only then ur pc will recognise the phone ...just google "android 2.3.4 for Samsung galaxy ace androidflip.com ..they share the drivers in the tutorial ...hope I helped ...

Ok, It got solved yesterday this way:
You do not need to reinstall drivers on PC.
You do not need to reinstall ROM or anything on your phone.
You do not need *# special codes.
You do not need a new cable or change USB port or change your phone for a new one.
It seems to me that somehow (probably for debugging, connecting and disconnecting several times) the phone locks itself in a state where it is unable to connect again through USB although it charges.
So how did I solve it? I executed this actions several times even in different order some times: disabled debugging, disconnected cable, restarted phone, connected cable, (still not recognizing), tryed to USB Theter (even when the option was disabled), reenable debugging.
Out of nothing i noticed the USB icon was there again in my phone and i was able to debug copy files etc again.
I tried disconnecting and conneceting again and it kept working correctly.
I hope this helps someone else with the same problem and probably someone fixes the bug on the OS.

I've got a Galaxy Ace.
I want to root it, for App2SD+.
Now I tried to connect it with my MacBook.
It fails. The Ace peeps (loading), nothing else.
1. Tried it with USB debugging on/off
2. Hard reset done
3. Download Mode, nothing
4. Tried SyncMate for Mac, nothing
What can I do? I don't know, what's the problem.
Can't get any connection.
Hadn't any root or sth else before.
Could it be, that I deleted a system program? I mean, never got sudo etc. But I deleted lot of programs on the phone memory, because ran out of space.

EDIT: When the phone was new, it worked. Since that I also set up Mac OS X new. Tried btw also Kies.
I had the same issue with my Mac. The really strange thing is that I never found a solution but the connection problem disappeared by itself after some weeks. Maybe after a reboot. I am pretty sure it's a Mac problem and not an Ace. Good luck!
