Hi all,
I apologize first if my post is in the wrong place.
I am from India and got this very recently.
i just bought a x10 mini pro and updated to 2.1. tried to root it with z4 root but didn't work. now (i don't know if it was due to the partial rooting) the phone reboots when i go to the camera mode.
I will explain the steps i did here.
1. after a full charge the camera works. only some time.
2. i unlock the screen, press the camera on the screen and the phone reboots.
3. (after a little experimenting), if i dont lock the screen the camera mode works in and out perfectly. if i lock the screen and unlock, and then enter the camera mode it reboots.
4. also some bugs-- after taking a picture the same picture taken is locked on the camera mode, even after exiting the gallery mode and it takes some time to register the new scene on the screen. something i didn't expect.
also downloaded the app for the flashlight and if i press the light on button it restarts.
well i don't know if you understood that much. but there are 18 apps installed by me. i hope that it may be due to the apps i have installed, and only a couple of them are running. even when they are not running the matter is the same.
I previously was using a W705 SE and is a member of se-nse forums. this is the first time i am using a linux/android phone and this thing has let me down. is this a hardware related or a battery problem? everything looks SE genuine except the product is made in china by SE and imported to India. Maybe that??
Other than that the phone works ok. i just found out how to root the phone
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=906231
so will try that and change all the apps to sd card. have a 8GB on that too. is there any detail i have to give about the phone?
Thanks all!
Tim
Hi, try to reinstall camera app:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=826849
Good luck
ok bro, will try it.
I did as said but it installed a different app and that says 'no camera available'. Is it really for the x10 mini? And it doesnt replace the default app. But the default runs seperately as usual. Is there any way to correct this problem? Thanks!

Hey,
Reflashing the phone will solve the problem
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=928343
actually, the phone was flashed 2 timed by me, and 1 by the se service centre. I guess I have to change the battery. which makes no sense to me.
thanks for your ideas.

1 use a different browser, I like boat browser myself.
2 look under settings- display- screen time out. Or have I misunderstood?
3lag usually goes after a while. Try removing some stuff you dont use etc

Lag on an S,lol, its a bug. Reflash the phone(what firmware version are you?).
Screen timeout can be set from Display settings, not sure about lock, I amnt using a code atm.
All android browsers will default to the "m" versions of sites as the stock user agent string will tell the site that your phone is android. Without root I dont know if you can change the stock browsers user agent, but if you install opera mobile it can be set from "about:config"(type in to address bar).
Edit: If you've only booted once, REBOOT! First boot lags things up a bit.

Hi there,
I need some help with my phone. Every time I restart it or turn it on, it will switch on to the Sony Ericsson logo, then repeat this process until I get lucky and it decides to head to the lock screen, where after loading all start up applications, would proceed to restart.
Then, afterwards, it rearranges all my icons for me, and then none of the applications will work and they just crash. In addition, I keep getting crash messages from apps like Hotmail and Battery Booster and the phone's extremely laggy, as well as the accelerometer won't work.
Can anyone help me?

Hi Rawwr,
My X10 Mini's just a normal one except that it's rooted, with stock rom,
Thanks
DrShellgon
Iwas on my mini pro and the phone just randomly rebooted. I then booted it up again but it booted with a black screen. I waited a minute and then tried to do something and I felt the lockscreen slider vibrate. Basically the screen doesn't work so I was wondering if anyone would know how to sort it out. If I have to flash anything, is there anyway I could keep stuff like contacts.

If u used google account for storing contacts then dont worry, its backed up. Else try usign pc companion.
Then flash a stock ftf to get it working.

I updated my father's Xperia Mini pro from 2.3 to 4, everything seems fine except for the camera
I get "Camera not available" error, I installed a 3rd party app (camera360) it worked for a day & now I get fc on that one too
So what are my options here? re-update? any other solution?
I remember Bin4ry releasing a camera firmware for X10 in the old days which solved a similar issue
is there something similar for my situation?
Thanks

Try to reflash your firmware..

Check the battery level
I have a Mini Pro, stock kernel and stock Gingerbread (rooted). I get "Camera not available" when the battery level is low. It may not be related to the upgrade

Thanks all for your input but I think the only way is to reflash, it happens even when the battery is full
camera360 works but only if the default camera app is closed, when you open the default camera app and then go to camera360 it gives FC & you need to close the default camera app & try again

Are you on stock ROM? Which camera app? Did your camera always behave like this? Did you drop your phone? Changed software?

Well if you can bring it back where you bought it and have it exchanged. If you can't, save everything and try a factory reset. You could also try to flash your phone. Therefore save all you need. Perform a factory reset from your settings menu, download the same ROM that is on your device currently (there are How-TOs in this forum), flash your phone using Odin and set it up. See if it works. If it doesnt work, it looks like a physical failure and you'll have to get it fixed. Shouldn't be too hard/expensive.
