I need to install Adobe Flash Player on my Archos 70 Internet Tablet 250GB ...
I can't find the Adobe Flash Player anywhere ... Been searching for several hours ...
Tried Market, but the only Adobe that shows up is Adobe Flash Showcase.
Can't find it on my MacPro either ....
Has it been discontinued for the Archos ... ???
It was never available for Gen8.

Got the Flash Player 10.1 ... !!!
On another Android Forum I found the answer! Check this out:
I finally got Flash 10.1 to show up on the market and installed it YES. What I did was in settings/applications/market/all was to clear the cache then delete the data and then force stop. Now instead of rebooting my A70 I went to the market app and opened it then did a search for flash 10.1 and there it was.

I did that, but did not reboot, opened up Market, and sure enough, there was Flash Player 10.1 ... !!! Installed it. Having some problems, but my Archos 70 is working. Not without issues though ....

Loving my gtablet! Installed vegan and the market and im rocking and rolling with one issue left to solve. So i downloaded and installed the latest version of flash, but in firefox and the stock browser no flash videos will play. They show a link to download flash, which leads me to their site saying the device is not supported. What am i doing wrong here?
Firefox doesnt do flash. I am not sure why the stock browser is not working. What flash did you install and what rom you running? In the settings of the stock browser do you have plugins enabled, off, or on demand?
Info
Flash version is 10.1.120.1
Running VEGAn-Tab v1.0.0b5.1.1
thanks for your help!
Uninstall that 10.1, look around and get the more recent Flash 10.2. You can get it from freeware lovers if you dont have the market set up... Also, not sure about Firefox, but with any of the browsers make sure you're looking at the site in 'Desktop' mode
Got it to work!
Hey it works! I had to fool with the browser settings and install the version of flash recommended and i couldn't be happier! thanks you guys. this is an awesome community.
Can you post the steps you took to resolve this issue? Ie, 1. Uninstalled Flash 10.1, 2. Went to Market, searched for "Flash 10.2", etc. That would be helpful for other people that have this problem (especially what browser setting you had to change).
I know that Flash is bundled with VEGAn 5.1.1, but all of the sites I go to say that it isn't installed (or need higher version than 8 or 7 or whatever).
I went to the market and it doesn't list Flash no matter how I search. Shouldn't 10.2 be listed even though 10.1 is installed?
Thoughts?

I couldn't see Flash 10.2 until I did the market fix.
Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> Press the 'All' tab
Scroll down and look for 'Market'
Clear Cache, Force Stop
Return back to the list and look for 'Google Services Framework'
Clear Data, Force Stop
Now go to your Market and it should error (that's normal)
Reboot and load Market back up and Flash should be there
I did the Market fix 3 times until I could see it.
But that might not work for everyone. In that case you should look into this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1020130
I still cannot see flash videos on sites like espn.com. it just shows a picture instead of the video.
I have done the market fix a number of times and still don't get Flash to show up. Grr...
Maybe I will try a few more times for good measure or try the alternate method mentioned by Hachi2go.
This method worked on the first time when I needed to get the Facebook app.
I was unable to get Flash with this Market fix up.
To frustrate me more, my co-worked just tried this easy fix and Flash just popped up for him. Grr...
I had to go to the other thread and change the device ID in the build.prop file.
I was reading that downloading the android flash app onto the computer, moving it to the SD card and installing the file from there should work with Android 2.2. You have to do it this way because when downloading it on the phone from the market place says it is incompatible with the phone (even though it's running 2.2).
Anyways, I followed this advice, and after installation my browser would automatically quit when the progress bar is at 100% on my homepage. I had to uninstall flash to get my browser working again. Has anyone had any success with the flash app?
Below is the link to the article I sited at the beginning of the post:

You mean Adobe Flash? You cannot use it on this phone (until/unless someone rewrites it for the CPU).

QFT.
Adobe Flash can't run on v6 processors, at least for now.
When I access several websites such as ESPN, they require flash. When I have tried to download it, the adobe website says my device, platform is not supported. However, the website shows android 3.2 being supported. Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance.

The device already comes with flash installed. You can try downloading an updated version directly from the Android Market on your tablet. You should have Adobe Flash Player 11.
Flash 11 shows in the apps, but it is not working when I access websites. Any suggestions from here?
Thanks,
Roger

Don't mean to be insulting. Try rebooting if you haven't done so. Or maybe uninstall and reinstall. *scratches head* Are you using the stock browser?
I was having the same issue with Flash 11. Websites such as the one linked below report that I need adobe flash 11 to view this content.
Sorry not able to post links b/c of n00b status.
After looking up the app in the settings menu I found that adobe flash had been disabled and was at the bottom of the apps list as a result of being disabled.
I clicked on the uninstall updates option and viola I didnt experience the issue with flash content.
Hope this helps.
Check if flash is enabled in settings and that you are using the default browser that came with your device then check other flash sites to see if they are working it might be ESPN's problem.

Hi - We have two Galaxy I9100 S2's - both are Unlocked, Rooted, and running Jellybean 4.1.2 I9100XWLSD_I9100OXXLS6_I9100XXLS8_NEE (the Nordic build)
I visited a web site in the stock browser that required Flash, and discovered that Flash is no longer available from Google Play
I found that Flash will work on JB, if you side-load the .apk
So, I download Flash from http://d-h.st/x4v, installed it, re-visited the web site, and the Flash video played ok in my browser :good:
Problem is, after following the same procedure on my wife's phone, her phone will still not play the video
I've tried re-downloading the .apk, also copying the .apk from my phone using WiFi-Direct
Any ideas why it works on one phone and not on the other ?

Don't know which version you used, but try this one.
Thanks - won't be able to try it until tonight though
Once I got my hands on her phone, I noticed that she'd increased the default font size, and also activated the browser's Incognito mode
I un-did those two settings, and installed your Flash .apk,
and it's working now :good:
-Thanks
Hi everyone,
im having problems updating the build in Tunein 5.1 to the latest 7.1.
It works doing it via market oder apk but after a restart 5.1 is installed again by the system.
How the hell can i fix it...the old 5.1 must be somewhere & getting restored after every single restart...

I got a reply from archos support.
" our tech team is aware of the problem and is working on a solution"
Given how old is the problem I guess they are not really working on it. Can one of our dev champion look at it? Maybe it is as simple as a file set as readonly somewhere.
It looks like the newer tunein from either applibs 6.4 or from the market 7.1 is installed but it does not overwrite the original app. I guess archos did not install it at the right place. The solution would be to modify the shortcut on the dashboard and also in the clock application to the new apps. Or another solution move original apps to where the market apps is installed. I am not a tech so I'd do not know how .

Via "Apk share" I shared TuneIn Pro to my Archos Connect from Galaxy S2, it's installed and works.
No I've tried to do the same with new version of TuneIn Pro 7.3, it's not working. It's installed, run, but still 7.1 not 7.3.
So after fighting a long time with this crap device here is the solution for tunein:
Rename the new (7.4) Tunein to tunein.apk and copy it via Root Explorer (Or anoter Root-Filemanager) to /data/app.
After that change the permissions of tunein.apk so that there no write is possible (untick the write options in permissions after holding your finger on tunein.apk a long time).
With this it is impossible for this stupid Archos device to overwrite the tunein with the crappy old 5.1 Version.
Downside: You cant log into your tunein account. But at least you have a good working Tunein.
