Hello Guys i am a proud owner of the x10i and i am forever flashing with custom roms. I am sure you are aware that Gingerbread has been released for the xperia models and like with the x10i is anyone going to take the stock rom and tweak it to be faster than normal. My girlfriend hates her x10 mini pro and i am trying to help her like it as she cannot upgrade until January.
Thanks in advance guys
Marti
Ps i ask for a tweaked stock rom as she would like all features to work if at all possible
I'm aware of 2 Eclair ROMs for the mini pro
Sony Ericsson W8 E16i Port
Iridium rom (U20i)
I just made my own custom 2.1 ROM in a couple of hours time using dsixda kitchen.
Base ROM : 2.1.C.0.0
Modifications:
-removed a ****load of apps/games/services/wallpapers etc.
-dual recovery
-end call with sleep button
-change AZERTY -> QWERTY
-HTC Black Theme by draco_ag
-standard launcher replaced with zeam 2.8.8
etc.
It's mega-fast! (and stable!)
heya, X10i is the regular xperia x10 yeh?
if so, would have to disappoint you in that there is no stock froyo or gingerbread for minipro
also none of the custom roms, even those based on the stock one, will work with timescape i think.
but, there are still some good roms out there
- For froyo you might want to try out cyanocomb or FroyoCM 6 (also look for madbulls hotfix to v6.01.2)
- For gingerbread i'd definately advise GingerDX
also, gingerDX works with the SE Active launcher (much like the stock SE one)

It does matter whether you get Android 2.1 and 2.3. Android 2.3 is (on most devices) faster, more stable, supports more apps, has many bug fixes and optimizations than Android 2.1. Recommendations: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1161270 (not Eclair ). CyanogenMod is also very good.
Hello community, this is my first post. I'm no complete noob. I 'm coming from the symbian s60v5 modding community. Now I own an xperia mini and would like to know if the cyanogen mod is stable and recommendable for it.
Btw: Is German supported by the cyanogen mod?
yesterday I test Cynogenmod 7 (CM7) and install it on Xperia Mini Pro but I got some problem such as:
> touchscreen not working
> bootloop (yes, I already clear the cache / data / system in CWF but still-)
so I will say 'no' because its still unstable
most of cyanogenmods have bugs. i have used it in my x10 mini pro. i'd no recomment it because xperia mini have 1ghz processor + 512 mb ram which run hvga screen. you dont need to overclock it. + androjd version is latest. so better stick with stock rom
Thank you. Maybe the Cyanogen 9 will be better. What about the FXP - Project? Any experiences with that? What mod are you using? Or do you use stock rom?
i m using stock and pretty satisfied with it.
FXP is also based on cyanogenmod.
We still have 3 newer firmwares from Sony (4.0.2.A.0.58 , .61 , .62 that not have yet been released worldwide. And in 3 months official Android 4 is coming. Why bother with unofficial ones? What are the benefits ?
On older X10 mini was logical because Sony didn't upgrade past android 2.1.

agreed
and also sony ericssons stock rom is best looking rom in my opinion
Maybe you are right. Sounds all pretty logic. Is it possible to OC the CPU? Is it dangerous?
(I think I need to mod something. I 'm addicted to that. Even Symbian was crap, I could do a lot of modding with it. It was easy and it was fun. I 'm unsure if I would be able to sit on stock and wait for ICS)
What about languages and keyboard that has always been a big problem in symbian modding. How is that here?

yes you can overclock but only in custom rom. thats not dangerous if you know the limits . but right now people are experiencing some problems with custom kernels like screen doesn't responds after flashing a custom kernel. so you better skip it for now.
dont know about what do you meant by keyboard and languages but that's never been a problem to me.
Hi all,
I have been trying different MiniCM mods on my X10 mini. Currently im using MiniCM7 2.2.0 and I just love it ! I have also been reading a lot of threads, but haven't found any information regarding X10 mini with 4g/Wimax support. I've seen a few threads with CM7 rom that has Wimax included, but none that's made for the X10 mini.
My question is:
Is there any MiniCM rom version that has 4g/Wimax included? Or is there any other rom you can use on an X10 mini that has 4g/Wimax support? Or is that phone not capable of running 4g/Wimax and there will never exist such MiniCM rom?
Best Regards!
Ponderosa
The answer is simple
In order to use 4G/Wimax, the phone needs to have a chip capable of accessing those protocols, and our X-whatever-phone-u-have, ie, at least the 2010 models don't have that capability and it's not possible to emulate that in software.
If you need it, you'll need to get a phone that states it supports it, and in that case, it will also do it on the stock firmware it comes with
Hi all!
I have an xperia mini pro that came with android 2.3.4 (firmware .58) on it and i was wondering if there is any list of the official firmware (with related changelogs) that have been released for this device by SE.
Thanks in advance.

I don't think there's a particular list for the purpose...
I suggest you watching some YouTube hands-on video reviews...
