I have called and got some activation codes for the windows live on the HD2 WP7 ROM. The first Code might have ran out by now but it has worked for many people. The second code I just got from Microsoft and I haven't tested to see if it works. You can try the first one first and if it doesn't work then you can try the second one, and let me know if it works. I'm very glad to help out. I've ran into things where i needed help, and I received it. So as long as I can make up names and emails I will continue to get codes from Microsoft. I know it is easy t get codes in the US but I don't know about anywhere else. So this is just me paying it forward i guess

Please could someone offer a bit of advice. I have recently decided to purchase an xda2. so i have decided to sell on my xda1.
The problem is that the theft protection is enabled and i was wondering how i disable it or alter it to the new users details.
I have nevered altered the details before as it was done for me buy the previous owner.

You cannot alter the details unless you burn a new rom.
You can disable it by deleting "IIWPO_startup.exe"
from the startup directory (but it will come back after a hard reset). Hope this helps.

You cannot change the details for a new user, that is the whole point of it, if it sees that the user has changed or no name is entered it will keep informing the "owner", the only way to get rid of it is to burn a new rom to the device.

I have tried reloading the original rom from the O2 website, but because the one on the xda is newer than the rom on the O2 website so it won't load it onto my xda.
I have contacted the previous owner who is a well known member on these forums to see if he can help me (gazzaman2k), i'am awaiting his response, so hopefully he can help me.
If anyone has any ideas of loading the original rom back on i would be grateful.

very simple. search the regestry for the old user name and you will find 3 variables, old user name, new name and the phone to send sms. in your case change the first and last so you can use it or delete the phone to stop the option.
you need regestry editor program and I think it is with this ROM.

ah mate got your emails and found the thread lol.
It is my old XDA1 what i donewhen i sold it you was just locate the reg string and change it over to your details each time you hardreset it itll just come back the olny way you can do it is to:
burn a new rom and place it over it theres no other way and since jeffs kitchen burnt down theres only yorch's one :\ left but that does mostly american roms and i think it isnt as good as jeffs one
on the dvds i gave you there is the original v3.17 or whateer cant remeber its numbers you could try downgrading it to that as thats just a bog standard rom.
but im not too sure about downgrading roms :\
what ever you do just dont try to downgrade the radio version as that can lead to killing the phone.
only way might be to flash it using a sd card. its all i can think of at the mo.

I have tried putting the rom from the O2 website but it won't update because the xda rom that is on it is newer (v4.00 i think) the one on the O2 website is v3.17....
does anyone know the procedure to put the v3.17 (o2 basic rom) on. when you have v4.00 already on....
I really need to sort this out tonight so i can sell, it as i really need the money...

shizzer thats my dads mobile :| youll have to do what i said with the developers v1.2 thing i sent you via email. as my dad will go mad getting thousands of texts and im sure the guy you sell to will get upset too that his credit is draining every second.
if you cant do it send me the cradel and XDA + the ruturn P&P and ill get it back to normal for you but downgrading to xda developers v1.2 will put it back on pc2002 which i think is a crap version of windows mobile.
i have the files for v4.00.05 but they require to be written by bootloader way which is very scary to try lol

I have been having a look around for a later version than v4.00 that is on my xda but i have been unable to find one, if anyone can point me in the right direct in a .exe format that would be fantastic just to get over my problem....

only later versions out are yankee versions mate putting that on and youll loose the 1800mhz band so that means no orange/one2one

go into progs p-z
find......
XDA-developers-SER-v12.zip
copy it from the cd onto you desktop.
then dont unzip it...
just double click it it will then begin to self extract a dos box will pop
up.
b4 you do this make sure the xda is in its cradel and plugged into the mains
charging.
wait about 30 secs for it to stop doing activesync crap....
after then double clci kthe file and wait for the dos box to come.
then a windows box will pop up telling you about it all.
make sure you read it thorugh very very carefully and follow everything it
says

I just finished my first official [hopefully successful] ROM for the Raphael. I do NOT have a Raphael so I will need at least 3 helpful dedicated members to test it out for me. If you can, i'd really appreciate it.
It would really help if you had AIM or MSN (Yahoo to, but don't really like to use it) so that we could communicate easier. As soon as i get 3-5 testers, i'll close the thread down until further notice.

I got rid of a lot of programs and hopefully fixed the battery issue. I will be doing more with this so any advise is welcomed. I have already done the hex editing for the pagepool and included the patcher so you can choose whichever pagepool you like (i set it at 18mb).
As i have told some of you, i'll be releasing an HTC Home version and clean version as well.
If i get positive feedback for this, i'll edit a few last things and go ahead with the release. Any opinions are appreciated (what i should add, remove, etc) and you know where to send them (check my profile).

plz tell me what happened to my cell.and what i have to do now.we have no service center here. i have already tried mtty.exe

Your gene is old gene and u bricked it with HSPL for new gene...
now there is no solution to unbrick a old gene.....
Reverse is possible...u can unbrick new gene flashed with old gene HSPL...
but in your case you need to the service centre...
Anycase it was ur mistake...krazy has clearly mentioned to use olip method first....so u need not to show ur angar in the forum....

Because that will not work for old to reverse.
It will only work on new gene.
I have got the same issue on New gene so mtty method worked for me.
I have not tried it on old but if you already tried the mtty on old and you got no success then service center is the only option.
They will replace the rom with the default setting or else if ossible they will restore the current to default.
And no one is selfish here everyone is giving there best for to solve problems. you can see this by going through the forum correctly...

You should search and read carefully and you will found every issue related to this device have been discussed here .
But i think you are not ready to read , you want to give orders and take replay ( HOW?)

People in this forum, infact the entire xda-developers.com team, is great in helping each other without any selfishness.
Even I had bricked my New GENE using the HSPL of old GENE a year back. At that time there was no unbricker for that. But I was confident that somebody here will come up with a solution.
And I had waited for almost one year for the solution. Then finally Orefkov came with a solution to unbrick it.
People here are brilliant in solving problems, we just have to maintain our cool, for other to find a solution.
People here take such a pain to just keep our GENE's up to date. We should respect them for that, instead of cribbing that no one is helping us.
Its our foolishness that we brick your mobiles without reading/understanding things properly. Why blame other for our mistakes ??

Don't be frastrated, I know how it feels to have bricked our mobile, because even I had gone through the same frastration. So I can understand your situation well. Thats the reason I had shared my experience with you. And asked you to maintain your cool.
For some problems its very difficult to find a solution, so it may take some time for somebody to come up with an answer/solution.
So don't lose hope, just keep an eye at xda-developers, you may never know, some day you may get a solution.
Dear Sunny, the only possible solution in your case is to send it to service center. there was nothing we could do more. What should we tell you then? And whether you are from Pakistan or from any part of the world, you are no different for us. A buddy is a buddy irrespective of where he comes from, religion or race. We dont even know the location of many of the people here

Rightly said krazy. The cyberr doesn't have any religion, caste, creed or nationality. we are of same breed bound by a common bond (in this case Gene!).
so, it hardly matters from which ppart of the globe you are from.

One more thing you can try is call HTC costomer care, or you can even email them. You can email them from there site, using the support > Customer service > email option. And ask them where can you send the moblie for service.

You need to actually give us some information before we can start to help. Explain what you're trying to do, and how you're trying to do it.
Some newer SGS2's cant be unlocked using that method, or so people say.
The app linked above worked perfectly for me.
I have just got a brand new replacement from o2 today and I have tried the SGS2 unlock app and it hasn't worked it keeps saying "No unlock code found "
I really need it unlocking or it is uselsss :/
O2 give unlock codes upon request - they started doing it a couple of years ago. It can take a little while though, but at least it will definitely work.

If the phone is O2 branded, then they supply you with the unlock code, not 3.
