I know HOW to remove the bloatware from Android phones using Titanium Backup Pro, but I'm curious to know what bloatware is SAFE to remove without causing any major problems with the OS. Thoughts, ideas and suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

I took off faves, modes as well. Also amazon, setup, all themes, swype if you don't use it. I think that was about it. Make sure you do a good nandroid backup before you do it, so you can restore all of it if you need to take it back in for some reason.

Did you delete ALL your themes or did you just delete the ones you weren't using? Also deleting modes and faves didn't conflict with anything? I was kinda on the fence on these apps
Nope I used titanium backup to uninstall the stuff, I also did take off amazon as well

Do I need to be s-off or just perm rooted to delete system apps? because when I try to delete some of the themes or system apps with Titanium Backup and I restart my phone they come back. Please Help!

With Titanium backup, you don't have to uninstall, if you want to keep them in case you need them later. You can simply 'freeze' the apps. This way, you keep them, they just go out of system memory and the icons will not show up either on your Launcher.

You cannot delete system apps via Titanium Backup. You can only backup the data. You will need Root Explorer or something equivalent to delete the system app. Make sure you make a backup first though.

Thanks. Did not know that. Thought system apps were off limits with Titanium Backup.
Here is the thread I saw that says it does system apps are off limits. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=835810

Ti Backup cannot backup system apps - only their data. It can, however, remove them with the 'force remove' function.
But, a major +1 for freezing them instead. It might just save your ass, and it serves the same function as deleting the app anyway.
Can someone please share the htc lockscreen app from the app folder I mistakenly deleted it and the oden file

I wouldn't remove friend stream if you plan on using facebook. What happened, was the phone was constantly looking for friendstream to "sync" but since the app was gone, it never reported back as completing syncing...so i'd always have the circle with arrows "sync" in my task bar. got so annoying.
had no problem when I froze friend stream and still use FB.
Anyone know what the my device, my account and search people is listed under in titanium?
I can't seem to find them.
Also any one have a complete list of what can you can freeze or uninstall?
So far I only freeze but here is what I have:
AppPack Asphalt com.tmobile.theme x6 demo videos Faves x2 flickr Friend Stream x2 Gallery I use 3d HTC Weather locationPicker x2 Mail x2 Email account messager x2 my Downloads Provider (No clue what it does) my modes news x2 peep quickoffice ringtone trimmer rockband screen share setup stocks x2 t-mo tv themes provider (no clue what it does) TTS Service Twitter Visual Voice Mail Voicemail Weather x2 Weather Agent and provider
Has anyone uninstalled the genius button app after remapping the button to the search function? I don't use it at all and its always running...

How do I uninstall some of the apps that came with Mik's CM7 ROM, e.g. CarHome?
shouldn't it be under manage application ?

I don't think that method works because I tried uninstalling Rom Manager and it wouldn't let me. I think titanium backup can remove the apps, go try it out. I don't want to deal with that stuff so I just hide it in launcher pro settings..
use system application remover works best for me.
Some apps cant be removed, they are required for phone to run. You may remove the others with "manage applications" under settings.

Titanium Backup will surely do the work ,any application can be deleted ,but dont delete any system application that is needed by the system.
Use root uninstaller. Just be careful..

Hi all. I have Barclays app installed and runs great without any issues (yes Rooted). But when I do a backup of the app so i can say eg flash a clean install of the same rom and then restore it. It no longer works? I have to call Barclays up and they have to delete my sign up info on there side so that I can do the first up again. This is the only thing stopping me getting Titanium Backup pro app as want to support the dev and use the app regularly. If anyone has any advice or a solution I would be very greatful

When you are restoring the Barclays app, don't restore the app data, just restore the app alone.
But I could download off Google play and enter details again. But I am hoping I can do a restore of the app and data to save entering the details in again

No. you can't do that. Apps like that wont accept using your old data in a way.

^^This.
Its the same with the natwest app. You cant restore backed up data for security reasons.
All I do is install the app, clear data and then launch app and set it back up, only takes a few seconds to get sms code and back in business.
Thanks for the answers and your time.

I rooted my device using the framaroot method, and I still can't delete the at&t apps that came preinstalled. Not sure what to do next. Any advice?
Yes.
Install Titanium Backup. There is a free version. Then find the apps you want to remove, and use the Freeze feature in TiBu first for a while to make sure that there are no dependencies. It functions just like deleting the app, but you can unfreeze it if there are problems. You can also delete apps with TiBu.
Also use this to back up your applications. To make it easier, buy the full version from the developer, which has batch back up and other features. It's a pain to try to back up apps one at a time.
Of course Yes. Titanium is the best app for backup, restore, delete app

Yeah, it worked.
Only noticed this app after the latest update (546 USA Unbranded). Titanium Backup shows it as Get More 1.0.A.0.0. I also saw it in the security menu as in the screen shot. Does anyone know what this app is?
Screen shot
Unfroze it, It is a buggy app that shows tips on how to use or setup your phone. Is half-baked, very annoying.
Thanks. Is it safe to remove via titanium Backup, or would you recommend I only freeze it?
Hello. What did you do in the end? Remove or freeze? Thanks

You can safely remove it using Root Explorer..
And i have seen one app called Clean Master. There is no need of that app in our Z2 dude. These types of apps needed for small device like Samsung Galaxy Y or Sony Xperia Miro etc..
I ended up removing it no problems. Backed it up with titanium Backup, and uninstalled. Haven't noticed a difference yet so I'd assume it's just more bloat.
