I have been compiling a few different themes together to make my own... My only problem is my menu is white, and the text in the menu is also white so I can't see the letters. What file in the framework would I change to make the text dark?

The only real thing missing from streakdroid's gingerbread theme is that the menu bar (Im not sure if this is the correct name, but the pop up menu that appears when you hit the menu button/middle button on a streak) is white instead of black.
Does anyone know how to change it's color system-wide? I've read that it can be included per-app with a private api and that it might be possible with ADW launcher/etc. But the best thing would be to modify the main theme files.
I decompiled the framework-res but I couldnt find it there/not sure if that's even there. The icons are identical in streakdroid 1.7.0 and stock gingerbread. The only difference is the color.
Do any themers know how to change the color of the menu bar?

i guess its the xml file inside the framework (...\gingerbread_dexfroyo11\gingerbread_dexfroyo\framework-res\res\layout)

thank you very much! I did not know about status_bar.xml. I have replaced the current one with owq's gingerbread port one and the status bar font is indeed white
with status bar achieved, all that is needed so far is:
(1) White text in all typing text fields (any fields that you type in)
(2) white text in long pressed menu (the menu that pops up when you long press on an item; currently the background is black, but the font is also black =[ )
I believes both of them are in services.jar

I need to change all text to White WTH...
I've been using qwq's Gingerbread Metamorpph with all the images removed.
I am currently running the stock rom and I wanted to make the menu background black like i've seen in a couple of roms. I was able to do this by changing the pngs, however, the menu text is still black so i cant see any of the words. What would I have to edit in order to make the text a different color? thanks

ive been asking for ever. +1 for wanting to know this. im pretty sure they are jus pngs in the framework-res.apk named menubackground but when i changed them i got boot loop
The menu background is a .9 png & I've tried a dark one but couldn't find the xml to change the text color. The icons should be easier to theme though.
I am currently theming 'framework-res.apk', and I can't seem to change the text color in buttons (holo light) from black to white, though I have successfully changed them in action bars. I have tried several attempts like creating .xml files and linking them with 'Widget.Holo.Light.Button' from styles.xml (I am trying to change the text color in holo light theme), but no luck (holo light themed apps keep force closing). Can you guys help me with that? :angel: Thanks a lot! By the way, I am using Android 4.2.2.
