A new root method is available which is far simpler than the original method. It is effective on all X10 firmwares to date:

Amazing! Will try 026 later.

You mean you use this X10 mini/pro method to root your X10?
Does it give us root of bootloader or just the same as Bin4ry & co provide?
Successfully rooted a Rogers Xperia X10a running the standard Rogers R2BA020 firmware from SEUS. Nice.

Nothing to do with the bootloader just an easier way of getting root.
@chai_archer, Yes the X10 mini exploit used on X10. Works fine. Just gives root, doesn't affect the boot loader in anyway.
Someone already with R2BA026 please try this exploit
tested on R2BA026 Generic from SEUS, works ! and you get Creatouch.
Wohoo nice! Will finally install 26 in the morning
Titanium gave me a busybox error. It offered me an alternate version which fixed the issue. Anyone else?

Did you give adb shell permission through the Superuser popup request?
Boom - just used Omnius to go back to Generic UK R1FA16, then used SEUS to get to R2BA026. Then I rooted it, no problems Fantastic!

You could have just used the decrypted files for 026 on the 1st page of the decrypted thread instead of flashing it twice lol

I'm sorry, my device is the mini (e10i), not the mini pro so I'm not sure you would want to use a e10i build.prop
Didn't work for me I hope a new flashtool will come soon
@all
please notice
if you run the superoneclick it can takes up to 10mins while it's finish
I used Super One Click and my phone is rooted
Hi.
I just got the Android 2.1 update for my SE x10 mini pro. The update is sweet and phone works quite nice!
But now i cant use universalandroot. I have just tried the newest version of Super One Click, and it just keeps on looping. The phone keeps on making the sound as if i just "connected the phone to my computer".
Does anyone have root for their x10 mini pro v 2.1?? please let me know.
All i want to do is to remove some of the preinstalled apps. They suck :/
Thank U
Is anyone using Titanium Backup on thier phone?
It seems like the SUper One Click now works. After 5-6 retries. It sometimes froze.
It has installed the SUPERUSER program on my phone and i have allowed Titanium Backup. But Titanium Backup says it doesnt get root

Yes it might loop for 10 minutes. A few things to try.
- Turn USB debug mode on/off
- If in one of the loops it connects and prompts to mount the SD Card (don't)
- Keep connecting the phone over the USB it should eventually work, but you might have to try this whole procedure a couple of times.
It eventually worked for me and I have root.
Hi,
do I press root or shell root?

Hi Early81.
Your phone's region firmware is probably Italian.
So there are no updates from SonyEricsson Italia for their users.
You can update changing your region with this.
It's the last rom posted in this thread from Jerpelea.
Then you can obtain your root permissions with this.
Bye.
I bought the phone from eaby uk, I thinf is an orange phone..
I downloaded the rom, but when I launch x10 flash it gives me:
secm usb flash not founded
I connected xperia in flash mode with the back button and gave me green led button, I even installed pc companion, where can i get this driver for updating the phone?
sorry for my engish, thanks
U'd better use auto updste from se. Otherwise root ur phone by using z4root from market, install xrecovery and install .024 downloaded from this forum

Agree.
Try Sony Ericsson Update Service.
I did it today and i found the update you required.
Then use this to root new firmware's version.
I installed SEUS , it tells me I already have the newest firmware version... ok but at least now I have flash usb driver ok.. so I go to x10i flash in the rom folder , and it gives me:
INFO: start
and after 2-3 mintes exception in thread java.lang etc...
waht am i doing wrong?
thanks
Have a look in the X10 Flash Forum.... why doing an extra Thread? Read the 1. Post, everything is there....
Just change you build.prop file to NCB
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=824711
And then use SEUS to update to the latest version.
thanks to all , I did it by x10 flah tool , after trying on 4 different computers cause of the drivers problem.. thank you all, if this post is not useful it can be deleted, sorry for creating another one

Hi, I think that what you are looking for is this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1186045
You switch the region of your phone and then SEUS should let u update.
Hint: You can edit the build.prop file using the flash tool, you will need a rooted 2.1 Android thou...
I forgot to tell ya man... I ran into some issues with the GPS using a pre-rooted rom, my phone is overheating due the very same problem...
I do find some things really slow (slower than Cyanogen GB) but is a good rom at the end and I will use SEUS to update my phone as soon as it will becomes available in my country... (México, Xperia X10a)

Those aren't methods, those are frontend for the rooting exploits, such as rageagainstthecage, GingerBreak, psneuter, etc.
And yes, as of now, there is no exploit that can breakthrough SE's Great Wall of Xperia.

Olá,
I'm having a problem rooting the X10i, since it was upgraded to Gingerbread. I had installed the latest version of SuperOneClick, and I'm doing just as it says The Unlockr step-by-step on Youtube. Had also sellected the exploit option "Gingerbreak". Still, when it gets to step 6, the program stucks.
Hope somebody can give me a hand on this issue, using the SuperOneClick or indicating another program.
Thank you very much!
you can try to use flashtool for X10, hope can help you!
I'll try it.
Thanks for your help! =)

if you just upgraded your phone from 2.1 to stock sony 2.3 GB upgrade then it cannot be rooted even with flash tool or super 1 click.
What you can do is to actually down grade your phone to 2.1 first.
Download flash tool and also download the firmware 2.1 version.
from the below link.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746
Once u download the firmware, place that .ftf file in the firmware folder of your flash tool.
Now flash the phone to 2.1, use the below link if you dont know how to flash it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=928343
Now once ur phone is 2.1, just root it and install xrecovery.
now you can install any of the 2.3 ROM available in the development section and all these ROMs are pre rooted and recovery installed.
PM me if u need any help.
THKS!
Thank you very much, runaway_bunny!
Right now, I'm having no time, but as soon as possible, I'll try it and let you know if it worked.
See you soon, and thanks again!
