[Q] system apps - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have deleted the system app account and sync. Is there any way of getting that app back on my phone?

Are you on a custom ROM? If so you might be able to pull the .apk out of the .zip and adb it to system/apps

[Q] Titanium Backup - reinstall app from old backup?

Hi! I need to reinstall MobiTV on my tmo Vibrant so that I can cancel the service. I am running the Eugene373 Vibrant9 ROM (very nice!). I have the app backed up with Titanium from an earlier backup (there is a tar.gz and a properties file associated with the app), and have that TitaniumBackup directory stored on my laptop, but when I do what seems to be the obvious thing (copying the directory to the phone) Titanium does not give me an option to restore MobiTV. I must be missing something obvious.
Ideas? Thanks!
MobiTV is in the /system/app folder and Titanium cannot properly install into /system/app. A lot of my themed apps that I had manually pushed into the folder, like smoked widgets, never restore properly. I wind up having to push the apk's through ADB after everything else is restored.

OK. So I have gone through the TitaniumBackup directory and failed to find the relevant apk. I guess that when i told it to backup all apps and data it didn't do this apk because it was "system"?
So, I found an apk here: h t t p :// forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=763580. Is this going to do what I want it to do (reinstall MobiTV)? Which directory should I push it into?
OK. The app is installs and runs, but it says it can't "authorize user". Sigh. I'm feeling like I need to start a new thread, as this one is no longer anything like the right name, nut this is one last query.... Ideas?

[Q] Cannot restore music.apk with Titanium Backup Pro

Used Titanium Back apps for several months. Had no system problems. Needed a bit more internal memory free and decided to uninstall the stock gingerbread music app ( which i backup and then I uninstalled it) because I use other music players and it has been listed as being safe to remove w/o system probs.
Samsung galaxy y
Stock 2.3.6 Froyo ROM
Before doing anymore uninstalls I wanted to see if i could restore this. Titanium Backup Pro just hangs indefinitely when trying to restore the stock music.apk app. Have to kill it. Using Root Explorer and ES File Manager, I am able to see the app in the system/app folder after doing this but it does not show in the app drawer.
What I've Tried:
1. Contacted Titanium Support. Great guys and very helpful. Cannot stress this enough and the app is awesome. They suggested taking the apk from the backup files and moving it using adb.
Result: Moved the file but would not show up in app drawer.
2. Found the stock music.apk in system/app folder using Root Explorer
Result: Tried rebooting. Did not work. Tried factory reset from Privacy Menu. Still not in app drawer.
please help guys!!!!!!!!!!!! how to fix this????
Have you tried clearing the data for Music app? When I've restored apps with Titanium, sometimes the data is corrupted or something and I have to clear the data.
You can always try uninstalling it and pushing a new music program with adb.

[Q] How to delete hidden files from deleted app?

What in system files need to delete?

[Q] ADB Insecure / Restore app data from windows

Bit of a noob question, but I've been going crazy for a while here now..
So basically my N7 screen is dead and I wanted to copy my apps and app data from it to my new stock (but rooted n10)... I was able to pull all the files off the N7 using QTAdb.. it's stored the files in basically packagename.apk and packagename.tar.gz (for app data).
My issue is trying to restore this automatically is a pain. I believe qtADB keeps failing to restore app data because it doesn't have root access to ADB and ADB Insecure seems to fail as well.
Also I can't find any application which will restore apps / data in that name convention.
Short of installing each app manually and extracting each folder one by one...is there anything I can do?

Is there a way to get some stock apps back?

Hello, this was my first time rooting a phone so I tried it and everything went well, I deleted some of the stock sprints apps like sprint ID using titanium backup pro, decided to restore the phone but it seems like those apps are not back.
I unrooted my phone to see if that would fix the problem but it didn't. Is there a way to get those apps back into the phone?
Thank you
Download any custom rom (blur rom may included all apps) open it using winrar. Extract all system apps, copy necessary apps in to your sdcard . Then using esfile explorer (with root permission) copy apps from sd card to system/apps or data/apps (or try to install it). Change permission to rw-r-r if needs then reboot.
