Hi. Hope somebody could help me.
I updated my FB application (which was one of the quick links my home page). As I installed the new version of FB the icon on the quick links dissapperaed. i tried to add it again on the empy quick link space but it couldnt. I thought this was a problem with the newly added FB application, so i tried to add any other program or contact to that empty quick link but is never saves it. each time i try to press on the empty link (with the + sign) it takes me to the selection menu (programs/contacs/bookmarks). when i select any of the programs or contacts or bookmarks i go back to the home screen and the quick link is still empty.
Appreciate if somebody can assist me. I searched the forum but couldnt find an answer.

Browse to hklm/software/HTC/Manila/home.
see list of numbers? Each number is one quicjlink slot. Could be that the one for that slot is corrupted.
figure out which one it is and check each sub key is the same as another blank one.

I did. I found out that there were only eight files instead of nine (file number 0 was missing). I created a new file, named it 0 and copied the content of another file into it and the quik link appeared again

Dear community !
After an extensive search and playing around with the registry I have to admit I didn´t find a solution to my sepcific problem:
I am on Stock ROM 1.66/1921/WM 6.5
My problem:
When I wish to attach a photo/pdf/doc to my email the popup screen starts to screen my entire 32 GB mSD for files immediately without giving me the chance to select a folder FIRST BEFORE search starts.
Of course this now takes always some 5-8 minutes until the entire mSD card is scanned and ONLY THEN I can choose the MY Documents folder on the mSD
Does anyone know a tweak to make the popup WAIT UNTIL I choose a specific folder to scan ?
Might the tweak be in the registry, in an XML-file or somewhere else ?
(Or am I so stupid not find the answer which might have been given already on this ? )
EDIT: e.g. for album there is tweak to exclude certain folders or include only certain folders but nothing comparable for e-mail

Yesterday I uninstalled many programs from my HD2 and now I found out that there is empty icon in quick menu and it cannot be removed by standard way
I would like to post some screens here, but I am not permitted to post outside links because I am new member here ...
Does exists any other way how to remove this empty icon?
I know I can use hard reset, but I don't want do this.
I tried to find help in Czech forum about HTC, but nobody help me there

couple of ideas:
1- to post a pic-- put the url here but with a space somewhere; people will figure it out.
2- what program?
3- you have turned the phone off/on?
4- try to reinstall the program and then uninstall...

to just remove the quicklink, open file explorer, navigate to device/ windows/ start menu. long press on the offending icon, press delete.
I can't see this empty icon in windows/start menu/programs
I installed SKTools and this application found 2 bad shortcuts
\windows\AUXPGA_App.Ink
\windows\Equalizer_App.Ink
both are linked to target: \windows\AudioCapture.exe
I tried to delete both bad shortcuts by SKTools but unsuccessfully
those shortcuts will not be in the start menu, look at the other forum thread we were communicating through.

Both files are placed at Windows folder.
Now my question is how to delete these files? Because files placed at Windows/ cannot be deleted (options like Delete/Rename etc. are inactive (grey))
have you tried a registry editor to delete them? (e.g. total commander?) if not, try that (allows different things than file explorer.)
I have tried to use Total Commander and it says the files cannot be deleted
It seems that only solution is hard reset and I can't do this because all things and settings will be deleted and it cause more problems than one inactive link in quick menu... I hope I find a better solution in the future.
Anyway thanks for your effort to helping me with this issue.

I solved this problem!
I installed Co0kie's home Tab + CHTeditor.
In CHTeditor: Menu --> Remove dead quicklinks
I have been trying to change the Google option under Just Type to use google.co.uk on my Touchpad (in the UK).
After a bit of searching through the config files, I presumed it would be a matter of changing the reference in /usr/palm/universalsearchmgr/resources/en_gb/UniversalSearchList.json as that file also contains the reference to amazon.co.uk and the other standard search options.
However, even having changed that, rebooted, cleared browser cache, selecting Google in Just Type still goes to google.com and gives me US references first.
Has anyone got any idea what I am missing or have I got the wrong file?
OK, I can now answer my own question after some further searching on the internet. It seems this has been documented on PreCentral in the past.
Just editing the localised file in /usr/palm/universalsearchmgr don't complete the change. To finish things off and get the TP to re-read that file, I needed to delete the universalsearchprefs.db file in /var/luna/preferences and restart.
Do you mind linking to the thread, hopefully there is a quick guide that I can follow as I need to change mine to UK to....

However, in the end, I did everything just using Internalz Pro (after loading that with Preware). It was a case of editing /usr/palm/universalsearchmgr/resources/en_gb/UniversalSearchList.json (after saving a copy) and then deleting /var/luna/preferences/universalsearchprefs.db and then rebooting the TP.
How did you edit UniversalSearchList.json? If I navigate to it with Internalz & try to open it I get a blank Impostah window that just hangs.
I just set Internalz to Master Mode in the Preferences (at the bottom) and I could edit. I am not running Imposter so don't know if that has an effect.

Good day. Can you please help me with installing this app. It is called Bridgeman. And the installers consist of 5 apks. Namely:
* BridgeMan_1.0.apk
* Celestial_1.0.apk
* Misc_1.0.apk
* Tides_1.0.apk
* Voyage_1.0.apk
I got these installers from my phone that has a successfully installed Bridgeman. I used an app called File Expert to get these apks. Wellabout the app. The app is just a one icon app but it consist of manyparts. The main app is the Bridgeman. When you open it, it consist offour menu which are: Voyage, Celestial, Tides and Misc.
When I installed only Bridgeman.apk I can see the menu, but noresponse when I press any of the four. So that's when I saw the fourapk of the menu. And I installed all of them. Now when I press a menufor example Voyage. I get sent to a new page like how it is supposed to work. But after sending me to a new page I just get kicked back out to the main menu.
Weirdly enough the Misc menu is the only one that is working. But Celestial, Voyage and Tides do not work and just gives me a blackscreen and get kicked back out to the main menu.
I also included a zip file of what I got from sdcard0/Bridgeman folder. If this would help.
My phone that has a working Bridgeman is an LG-E510 and 2.3.4 AndroidVersion. While the one I am trying to install is a Samsung Galaxy S2International and 4.1.2 Android Version.
Can anyone help me on this?Do I need to copy some files from the old one? Am I missing files?
I don't think the problem is in the File Expert because I justtransferred a calculator app by the same process. But I could be wrong on this. Anyways the calculator is just a one app apk so it's muchsimpler, unlike this that have many apks. It seems when I press for example the Voyage the page or line that must be executed when I pressthat cannot execute somehow. If this help.

I suggest to seek technical support sending an email or calling their office since the developer's website is googleable(I have googled the word "BridgeMan Android" and found their developer's official website is ww.deckmaster.com.ph(Just add another w), I assumed that you can find a way to communicate with the developer
Hello Forum,
Usually when you tap a link or document for the first time on a new device, you are presented with an list giving you the option to make one of the apps on the device the default app to open the link or document from now on.
In my case I just get a generic Android system error with a "report" button.
I solved the opening a link problem by using the option in Firefox to make it the default app.
However, for documents and anything else that may come my way, will crash instead of getting the familiar menu option mentioned above.
Any ideas, please?
Possibly an option that is turned on or off in system?
This is a stock ROM direct from Xiaomi. MIUI 10.1 Stable.
