the answer is yes! your network provider by law is supposed to give the unlock code. even if they dont want to or raise a fuss about it. they have to give the code.

yeahh, sure. but they want to have up to € 250 for giving the unlock key. and this is preety too much.
so is there another way which protects my moneybag ?

did you find a solution for your unlocking plan? i own an austrian drei-x10 as well and do also want to get rid of the lock, so my girlfriend can use it...
thx for any advice you can give!

$250 is outlaw !!!
on Internet, you can get the CONSTRUCTOR unlock code for only 35€... (i did it twice for my french Provider)

[Q] How to Get Xperia X10 unlocked

Hi,
I need a little help and direction.. I bought an ATT branded Xperia X10a 2 months back by paying in full (400USD + tax). Used it for the time with ATT pay and go sim and upgraded it to 2.1 X10i (was at 1.6 X10a). Now, I want to move to other service provider and so i want a carrier unlock.
What is the best way here? Should I call ATT (i dont have an account with them, so it has been difficult to get through the crappy customer service calls)?? Or should I contact Sony Ericsson? Or a third party vendor?

You can buy a unlock code, calculated by IMEI, google for "x10 unlock code"
by the way, it is not cheap

Thanks, as per your suggestion, i tried out some of the unlocker sites like unlocking.com and cellunlocker.net. Both refunded my money back saying they dont have a unlock for me. Mobileincanada cannot do it too, since they dont have an unlock for ATT devices only Rogers.
I am not sure what should be the next step.

Go here and PM Lancez. I unlocked two AT&T X10a's through him. It's $36.50.
So Much to unlock the X10
Anyone knows why the X10 seemingly cost more to unlock than other phones?

because Sony Ericsson's unlock codes are not IMEI based, they are randomly generated. you have to have direct access to their database.

Yeah it was free. I actually did two x10's at the same time. It wasn't particularly difficult... I just called the regional number and told them that I wanted to unlock my phone for use with another carrier. Make sure to specify removing carrier restriction, because they assume you mean the PUK unlock code (totally different code) unless you specify.
Don't bother calling at&t. They told me flat out that they didn't have a single unlock code for the x10. ( maybe they're fibbing though?)

Hi. Which Sonny Ericsson center did you call? I contacted them by email and they told me to go ask ATT, while ATT says that they don't have the code. Thanks!

Xperia X10 At&t unlock

Hi all, I am really new to this forum.
First of all I would like to apologize if this is a double post.
Can some one please help me unlock the X10 from at&t.
I would always unlock att phones by calling their costumer service but they were not able to generate or give me the key to my X10 for some reason. I wonder if there is another way to unlock the phone so i can use sim frm other carriers.
I'm interested as well =)
Is there a free way to unlock phone from AT&T ?
Firstly, the search function at the top works wonders guys, this is one of the most widely posted issues.
There are two solutions I see frequently:
website htccode.com
user lancez on this forum
as i mentioned earlier im a noob in this forum. I could not find anything with the search function either. Could you please elaborate on the user lancer you mentioned.

Don't take No for an answer from AT&T. By law, at least in the USA, AT&T has to give you the unlock code 90 days into your contract. Just gotta ask for it.... so they say anyway. Try taking it in to the store. The other ways, like Lance, cost $30+. AT&T should be FREE!

With a custom ROM you have UNBRANDED the phone but not unlocked it. Unlocking it means that you can put any SIM card into it so that if you travel to the EU or other GSM areas you can get a local SIM card much cheaper than an international plan for ATT.
It also doesn't mean that suddenly you have new wireless frequencies either, so if you put in a T-Mobile sim card you won't get their 3G/H or any EU 3G/H.
Some people have reported that your phone will show ROAM when on ATT after unlocking but this shouldn't be a problem as you are a ATT contract holder.
Don't worry i will help you to Unlock Your Sony Ericsson Phones from Network Lock,You can use the Unlock Code to unlock it from Network lock,But you can get the code from Online site...You can get the Unlock code from the site www.simpleunlocking.com and Unlock it......They get the code from Network Data base and provide to you.
for codes you can contact your service provider or can get it from online providers

[Q] xperia x10 unlock

I have searched the last fiew weeks on the internet for an free unlock method. But i haven't found anything working. Then i asked in a phone shop if they would do it. They told me that they had found something here on this website. So i searched here on xda. But i've foun nothng working on X10 with stock ROM 2.3.3 or other ROMs... So if anyone could help me and solve my probleme. If there is no other way I will unlock it in a phone shop for about 35€... I think it's too much, but i'm not sure if this internet - shops are serious....
I know my english is bad but i hope you were able to read my Questions.
thanks, Meikl96
What are you looking for ? is it phone unlocking or SIM unlocking?
If its just phone unlocking and installing custom ROMS then you need a flash utility and the rom itself and both you can down load.
If you are looking for sim unlcok then i'm not sure how to go about
well for SIM unlock, the only way is to let phone shops unlock it for the price.. AFAIK there's no way to unlock sim for free. you need to have a account with "credits" (that's what they call it) that phone shops only have. I got my sim unlocked for not less than 15 minutes.. ^^
yeah, i've asked in one of these shops but they want me to pay pay 30€ for this and it would take a week... I just thaught that there would any free way, because i've done it with another Phone (LG GD 880) wich was locked on T-Mobile Germany. It was easy to find this code generators but SE takes random keys....So its nearly impossible to get an code for free. but there was an thread a few months ago where sb sayed that he would do it for free...I don't know his name anymore....
I have asked in some shops in Vienna, Austria but no one can unlock it with setool.
They say the servers are not online
My question, I have unlockes the sim on a homepage but I would like to unlock the boot loader now.
I do not care much about the sim unlock since I have another unlocked phone. How can I unlock the boot loader?

Try http://omnius-server.com/ . It's free for sony ericsson devices up to Arc (X10 included).
I do not know of any free method, but looking on eBay I recently found a seller that unlock my phone (Orange UK) for about 20GBP.
Unfortunately, the item that I bought it's no longer available and the seller no longer offers this service for Xperia x10.
Depends on the carrier, you may also find a lower price.

I have done this, you need to ring o2 and ask for the the unlock code, they should give you it for free.
Then when you put a different network sim in your phone, it'll ask you for the code to unlock the phone.
Remember the thanks button.
Cheers,
Lunar.

Hi
They could NOT unlock my XPERIA P. Here I post the answer from mrunlock
"Unlock Code Unavailable
Your order will be refunded in full under our satisfaction guarantee.
This could be because the phone manufacturer has not yet added it to their database, it is an unsupported model, or you accidentally entered the IMEI for a different phone.
If you would still like to unlock your handset then please try your local independent phone shop / market trader as they may be able to do this with hardware.
It is also worth testing your phone with different SIM cards to double check it is still locked as sometimes you may find it works when you do not expect it to."
Also they have not refund me yet
i have since got my phone unlocked, it wasnt easy to find somewhere to do it, this is a hard device to unlock it seems, your best bet is getting in touch with the company your phones locked to, I got mine unlocked by o2 themselves free of charge, but thats because my ebay seller was very helpful and filled out a short form for me after i requested.

What kind of information does O2 need to unlock the phone?
I got in touch with my ebay seller (the original owner) and she filled out a form for me, im not too sure what details she had to put forward but i dont think its anything you could obtain unless you were the original owner, i was told however of another way around this but its not free. You have to get an o2 payg sim, top it up with like 20 pounds, make a few phone calls from the phone so it registers with your imei number, then with at least 15 pounds left submit an unlock form for payg sim to o2

[Q]Unlock bootloader.

Hello, i bought a wt19a some time ago, love the phone and all, but it has locked bootloader. When i dial the 7378423, it says bootloader unlock allowed: No, so i don't know, how to unlock it? The safest and easiest way, please. Thanks for all the help
I'm guessing your phone is network locked. U need to network unlock it first to change the unlock allowed status to yes. Sadly no known free method available.
Anyway wotanserver is good service to do the network unlock, and pretty cheap too.

If the phone gets network unlocked then can we unlock the bootloader?
I've always thought that when a phone says bootloader unlock allowed:no then there is no way that the phone's bootloader can be unlocked even though we get freed from carrier unlock. Like the phone will be bootloader locked for life.
Please clarify my doubt

If your phone was manufactured on and after 12W11 (I have seen several references wich indicates that supported until the model 12W14) can't do the unlock the bootloader by-test-point method. You have to ask to your network provider. If your model can unlock the bootloader you can use the wotanserver or FastGSM services which costs 9.99 €.
I've use wontanserver to unlock my bootloader and network provider. Whith these method you don´t lose DRM Keys
