I would like to have a transparent notification bar then I looked inside my framework-res.apk and I finded some png that looks related to status bar (status_bar*.png and statusbar*.png).
I edited these images adding transparency and flashed framework-res.apk to my phone (getting no errors).
Nothing has changed, do anybody know what images have to be changed to modify status bar?
Thx
The files related to the statusbar are .9.png files so they need the draw 9 patch and i dont know how to so that so just google it

Hi, thanks for reply!
So do you mean all status*.9.png images?
I have the same issue but it is not with the files. I found if I switch to the system theme in the theme chooser all my changes are there. Does anyone know where to edit a theme to make changes to the frame work?
if your still looking for transparent statusbar, you can use my cooked rom which allows transparent statusbar
The systemui.apk has to be modified for a transparent statusbar.
Search on xda or google how to do this.
Or use the advised ROM from above.

I went on the UOT kitchen and downloaded the icons then i copied them myself into SystemUI.apk and framework-res. Then i made a flash able of each different battery and notification bar style. But that's the hard way

Hi guys,
I need some help/advise from xda devs.
I am making a custom theme for stock ddkq8 rom.
So far i have successfully modded framework and systemui and all apps to give a complete feel of ics.
It includes
Big headers
White and blue text
Transparent status bar
Vertical batt with % icon
Blue coloured dialer
Blue stats icons
Removed swipe screen to unlock text from lock screen
Sleeked horizontal progress bar
Crt off enabled
Blue coloured pop up dividers
Ics animation
Blue text on selection
Transparent music app and gmail app
And much more.
However, when i try to make few apps viz settings.apk, jobmanager.apk transparent it doesn't work. Here is what and how am trying to do it
I am using win7 64 bit version. I am decompiling the apps using apktool 1.4.3. Hv got jdk 7 on my machine.
After decompiling am creating a custom theme in styles and using it in manifest.xml to make the app transparent. After recompiling i sign it and push into system/app folder. After reboot app simply doesn't appear in app drawer.
I hv tried both odexed and deodexed app.
I have tried by copying resources.arsc and manifest.xml to old app. Still the app doesn't appear in app drawer.
By now i hv started pulling my hairs and still hvn't got a clue. Wat am missing.
Please help guys.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
-Nishu

When I try to mod the status bar with UOT, I cannot seem to mod the background and the colour of where the toggles are at the top of the bar (Where you turn on wifi, bluetooth etc.)
What can I use to mod the toggles of the status bar?

spacecaker, first of all (that I knew) before changing the status bar sistemui with jb, had to have asked permission. I did not know. Secondly, I congratulate you, because your work is fantastic and I've done very happy with this status bar, I love it. I'm changing the png to customize my status bar. I want to give congratulations for your great work.
Well, I changed status bar png latest panel event with another color, and remains the same. No changes. I found as I said in framework.apk, but nothing changes. To which may be due? I'm desperate!
