aZuZu X8/X10 Series Small Kitchen - NE
1st. sorry for opening new thread...
Thanks to all people for their tools...
ofourse all suggestions / bug reports are welcome...
Auto remove odex files on apk remove.
APK optimization changed little bit.
Removing Multiple files added...
I have added update module... and this is final edition of kitchen...
Due un-flexibility of c# i had to "invent" internal script for build.prop patching in last version there wasn't any.. so in this version no build.prop bug no more...
As i stated in last post under old nick .. and since no one reported any bug or error... this project could be DEAD. I will put update from time to time...
Thanks all for trying!
would u give the tutorial for it?tq
zomg!
still too complex... will do...
i still have build.prop problem >>
plz>>>
we really need toturial for this
Found this tutorial at youtube:

interesting...
png files can be optimized.. but on damn w7 GDI is craching and reports errors in windows 98 style.. strange.. jpeg can be optimized but w7 reports invalid header.. resize 100% gives like two big pixel squares chase third one.. i should done this in java.. but i live c# since no one tried dpi tricks.. i can't put hacks for that so you will have to "hack" using build.prop editor..
So tutorial ... here it is...
Seems like aZuZu XPERIA Small Kithen - NE [ n00b Edition is to complex ]
So there you are tutorials...
aZuZu XPERIA Small Kitchen Tutorial
aZuZu XPERIA Small Kitchen - APK Editor Module Tutorial

What i need more to run this program? I don't able open edit apk...
about kitchen ...
Nor Cygwin, nor apktool likes deep paths or paths like c:\something\something\something or with spaces like "My Documents", "Program Files", "Users\My PC" etc...
i have my kitchen in root folder and i don't have any problems with her there...
Confuse????

this link works ok i tried it http://azuzu.spice.net.au/ax10mk.rar
btw i'm having problems with update module becouse stupid ISP rulz..
for some reason i can't use "net zip" thing i have uploaded ziped things on web page.. they are zip in zip
And that thing with landscape did someone try? does it work for messaging?
Seems like changing dpi on mini not pro just mini is acting diff on two diff minis.. strange ..
@Chumby_666
Hi
Kictchen can't creat update.zip. Says update.zip created but no update.zip in project forlder.
Note:i m using windows 7.
update.zip is in kitchen folder projects\roms\[project name you have give] on new project creation...
till i don't finish update module i will post updates like this,,
this is main application update.. [ support for long path names and paths with spaces in them ]
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10158456/aZuZu XPERIA Series Kitchen.rar
run test path was "c:\my kitchen test exe for long path\will this work\on long
and paths with spaces in them"
and it worked fine.. now i have to find some documentation about that 9.png becous picture editor in apk editor.. crashes on resize picture..
fixed info about where update.zip is created ...
appendix a: new rom will be awesome... found win3.11 iconset...
I am wrong..
hahaha My mistake just look only ur vids tutorial. did'nt find out ur kitchen can't load folder with space. ur new update work greats.

i´ve tried to translate the post from pda2u.ru forum so you can try on your own risk!
its for hp6815/6828
so
1.download AndroidOnP535.rar form this link
2.Format your SD to ext2 format and extract rootfs.tar.gz (its in AndroidOnP535.rar)
3.Rest of files in AndroidOnP535.rar copy to the root of your device (except zimage)
4.Download zimage from here and copy it also in root
5.insert sdcard with extracted rootfs.tar.gz and run haret-0.5.2.exe
so if your are luckier than me, you have beta working i´ve had some problems with formatting, i don´t have linux but i think that using linux there shouldn´t be any problem
one more time - YOU DO IT ON YOUR OWN RISK
@kosmodisk
thanks for translate and simplfy it for us. google kind of confusing. looking at the step, i just relize that you don't actually flash your rom, is that correct? so i assume it is safe for the rom?
yes it boots from your miniSD after you run haret-0.5.2.exe from you file explorer... (after booting simply do softreset)
i´ve done it many times but as i said, it is better to extract *.gz archive using linux - my problem was that when booting - everything gone well, it also recognized my SD but it could not initialize anroid.sh file
maybe the reason is that i have kingston card for testing this - and as we know this brand has problem with booting (f.e. updating rom)
maybe you´ll be luckier (i´ll try it again later but final exam is quite soon )

will try it, maybe u can use gparted to do it
if you use partitioned sdcard you might have to change startup.txt
like this:
set CMDLINE "debug rootdelay=3 root=/dev/mmcblk0 init=/android.sh mem=64M"
to:
set CMDLINE "debug rootdelay=3 root=/dev/mmcblk0p1 init=/android.sh mem=64M"
i did it first with partitioned sd using partition manager, but haret didn´t recognize it...
wow.... its going on.... nice! Any new news yet...?
Android on Atom Exec
Dham it works, well actually it boots!!. I tried it with 02 atom exec. i did have to change the startup.txt to "mmcblk0p1" thing.
there were no networks, almost every apps crash, the screen kind of off to the right. touch screen works, i can slide to change the today, the louncher works. real cool.
@ariey
maybe you need to use ubuntu and extracted as root. thats what I did. when your not as root, extracting the rootfs.tar.gz gives error.
heres how, got it from the www
=======================================
How to browse files/folders as root user in Nautilus
* To install File Browser (Root)
gksudo gedit /usr/share/applications/Nautilus-root.desktop
*
o Insert the following lines into the new file
[Desktop Entry]
Name=File Browser (Root)
Comment=Browse the filesystem with the file manager
Exec=gksudo "nautilus --browser %U"
Icon=file-manager
Terminal=false
Type=Application
Categories=Application;System;
==========
Now do:
$ killall gnome-panel
wait until the gnome panel resets, then go to the Applications|Systems
Tools menu and you will find an icon & item marked
'File Browser (Root)'
click & it will issue the gksudo nautilus command for you.
Just remember to be careful what you do with it...

Okay. So I've converted cab to oem to ext and I'm still getting a runtime error with platformbuilder.exe I've attached pictures of what my command prompt looked like during the process and I've attached what cabs, oems, and exts I used. It's not an error with NetCF, so I'm thinking it has to do with one of the exts I used maybe?

Hey Kraize,
No problems there ... PB is letting you know that the package in question is overwriting existing files with the version from the package.
FYI.
If you want to output the processing to a "Build" log file, I have a look at my Visual Kitchen in the Tutorial, the BAT file was updated to spool logging to file.
... has MTEE and the syntax (Thanks to Da_G)
Cheers,
Leave it behind ... other new Chefs are going to run into the same issue and wonder.

Really? It's a runtime error with platformbuilder.exe and then it exits the process and I'm back to the kitchen. It didn't build anything. I'll have a look at your tutorial

According to the screen captures ... that's fine.
It could be barfing after the packages.
Pull the BAT from my tutorial kitchen and use it to retrofit your BAT file with logging. We can look @ the logs afterwards and see what's going on.
What version of Visual Kitchen are you running?

Shows version 10. I'm cooking with your bat
EDIT: Guess I didn't edit it properly, it didn't produce a log file. Think you could upload your edited BAT?
EDIT: Doh! >.< Figured out my problem. It was my SASHIMI ext.
EDIT: Decided to make this the thread that discusses the problems you might have while cooking a rom. Maybe this might help other new cooks as well.
Glad you figured it out the problem; make sure to set the Log File environment variables at the top of the BAT file.
If you still need the BAT, let me know.
Cheers,
Okay. I'm having two other problems. The default WM6.5 connection setup likes to pop up before customization even though I haven't enabled it? Same goes for the comm manager which defaults over the rhodium one I have installed. Could someone tell me the location of the default connection setup and comm manager so I can delete it/make it false?
EDIT: Found the connection setup. It's the ADC folder in SYS. Dunno about the comm manager.
On a side note, I had another problem with the tachi dialer not working at all. The buttons don't work at all :O Nor the talk button on screen or the hardware button.
EDIT: Solved by registry key
FingerKeyboard deosn't cook in nicely
EDIT: Solved by making it UC
Sorry for sounding so noob-ish But I just thought that I'd post here anyways since most of the questions and solutions in the kitchen thread get drowned in the chatter. I'll edit and post if I found the solution
Bah I cannot find the default wm6.5 comm manager oem for the life of me. Someone please point it out to me.
Not sure either ... did you try posting a request in Da_G's 6.5 kitchen thread; he may be able to help better than I on that one.

Did you figure out the SIP reg setting? I just started using Finger Keyboard, and don't know how to set it as default, either (haven't tried cooking in the reg setting yet). The main FNGKB reg settings are:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\FingerKeyb]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\FingerKeyb\SkinFiles]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\AppInstall\Exidler FingerKeyb 2.1\ExecutableFiles]
and a few others that don't look like much.
I normally set my keyboard prefs with these two:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Tegic\eT9]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Tegic\eT9\Sip]
I have a feeling this is going to take me a few iterations.
Figured it out! Thanks to Da_G! It was a problem with my package. It's app.reg didn't replace the shell one. You need to add this into your app.reg if you get the normal comm manager.
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\:MSWRLSMGR]
"0"="MSWRLSMGR" ; class name
"1"="\\Windows\\CommManager.exe" ; exe to launch
"2"=dword:1 ; perf hint (RAI_PERF_*)
"3"=dword:0 ; app type (?)
Althought now, I have a new error with netCF :S
"The file 'app name' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring the file."
That's with 3.7, if I use 3.5, I get a NullReference Exception with all of the apps :|
EDIT: Fixed with aruppenthal's package. Seems like I was missing some files from each package and the one aruppenthal gave me was complete.

LnkMgr v0.0.2.7 Alpha Released
Now includes fix for shared folders and minor graphic improvements
LnkMgr is a link/shortcut creator and editor for the Pocket PC. It allows a user to effortlessly create and catagorize links en masse in the Start Menu folder. It also allows you to remove invalid shortcuts.
More information and downloads are available here: Please note the site may go up and down, Apache/Mono is kind of flaky.

Hi dtsouers,
You have created a little tiny tool that helps to organize things better.
One question from me for what i have found on your website:
>>P* is the Programs folder located in StartMenu
>>If nothing is specified it will go into the StartMenu
It is possible to move links to P*?
Sample: the *.lnk it is in the main directory of \startmenu\programs.
Now i will move it to \startmenu\programs\sample_dir.
Great app! Now only if it looked and functioned a little better.. I'd cook into into my ROM for good.
First you need to use the Category Editor to create sample_dir in P*.
Once that is complete, find your link in the list and change the category to sample_dir.

I have it installed to my storage card, what is yours named?
Do you have a bluetooth sharing folder on your device? I've seen a issue where sometimes that folder is not always accessible and can cause errors when I traverse the file system.

No it is a network sharing folder to get software from my server.
It is created with the Schaps_NetworkPlugin_1_0_30468_1.CAB
>>I've seen a issue where sometimes that folder is not always accessible and can cause errors
The network directory is NOT allways accessible.
Whoo linking managers; I like them!
Yet another nice application which I've added to my Feature Settings LNK overview page (hope you don't mind);

As part of my guide, I'm writing up instructions on how to use the UOT Kitchen.
Anyway, I am but one man and I have real-world constraints on my time so if anyone else has successfully used it, can they please post here detailing which mods they used and how they manually installed the files - especially what permissions they needed to apply.
Thanks.

there you go with permissions for each of the files...
now the rest is trying... you wont brick you phone with the right permissions if you only use the kitchen.
I know that's the permissions required for framework-res.apk, I had kind of guessed it would be the same for SystemUI.apk.
It was more the other files the Kitchen spits out - like the fonts (that could be it, I'm not sure).
As for not bricking my phone, I know that - I've spent most of the day trying to make the Kitchen work and having to re-flash my handset to recover it.
So I'm not worried, it's more the hassle of having to check it all myself - especially when there are some of the mods I'm not personally interested in.
I too learned my lesson. You learn from mistakes and I had to either go on safe mode or use seus to fix my arc to factory settings. What I do now to avoid semi-brick.
* Create a folder in sd..i named it kitchen.
* Copy what ever you made in UOT KITCHEN in that kitchen folder
* With root explorer..copy the folder KITCHEN from SD to your ROOT
* Open the Kitchen set your permission for each files you need. sample systemui.apk
* Move the file to the correct folder and Yes to overwrite.
* You can delete that copied KITCHEN in the root.
* Last step reboot
That's how, I do it now.
Just to add
If your not sure what permission the file needs to be. You can always check the original file permission first, before you edit your themed file permission.
Sent from my LT15a using XDA App
after I themed a bit with the UOT kitchen my volumebar is all strange and I can't fix it with the kitchen, does any one know how to mod this one manual ?

Choose font also when cooking in kitchen, and after extracting your "kitchen theme", you will get a folder "fonts".. Don't need to try root explorer. Download "Font Changer" from Market (It's free) & choose fonts you downloaded..
Thanks, I'll bear that in mind.
I need to over-haul my guide again - go away for a week and a load of new ways to root the Arc are invented
I'll try and flesh out the UOT section at the same time.
Boot Animation.
You don't need to upload any files from your phone to UOT for bootanimation changes.
Select the BA you want and have UOT cook it for you.
Get the zip file and open it..
go into /system/media
copy and paste the embeded sanim.zip somewhere on your PC, outside of the kitchen ZIP.
Rename it to bootanimation.zip
copy that to your SD card
use root explorer copy from SD card to system/media
change permissions to rw-r--r--
All system files/ apps should be rw-r--r--
he guys I want to confirm here that the UOT zip can be aplied trough the new CWM all works perfectly fine its not so much fun but a lot easier you know
Pull-down Animation
Do you have any idea how to get the pull-down animation to show?It's in the SystemUI.apk that i made,but does not show.
Sorry, exactly what animations are you referring to?

On the UOT kitchen you can select the option of having an animation for the background of the pull down status bar... c status bar mod
So far i've only gotten the android circle option to work, tesseract and the matrix have caused fc's and resulted in loss of status bar...
Ps I think animation pull down background causes our arc system to lag a little... just a little so be carefull... I will continure to test the other mods and report back to c if any others work
PSS step666 thanks for all your work in helpin getting our arc modded like a street racer... lol
Oh, yeah, I see now.
That option wasn't there last time I used the kitchen.
I would imagine any unnecessary animations would cause lag.
Also, the compatibility issues may be due to SE's use of the slightly unconventional 480x854 screen res but that's just wild speculation on my part.
How are you applying the mods?
Using the manual file-replacement method discussed in this thread or flashing the zip using CWM?

Wow step666 i never thought about the 480x854 resolution being the culprit for the fc's.. thats y u r the man, lol
Yes I have been using the manual file-replacement method and switching the permissions to get my themes to work because I have a locked bootloader, but sim unlocked... hopefully blagus can find a solution soon (he seems to be on the right track)
I'm not the man, I'm just thinking out loud...
It just struck me that the page in the kitchen were you mod your notification area specifically states 480x800 and while a fixed image would stretch ok, an animated one might now.
But that doesn't explain why some animations work and others don't.
I take it you're not getting any errors from the kitchen when it spits out your modded apks?
No errors or shft errors... everything cooks just fine but like i said i've tested three animations and only one works.. its just such a pain in the ass to keep building mods and waiting for them to cook and then applying them only to get fc's... but I will keep trying and report my results
Thanks, any feedback you can provide is very much appreciated.

Not required if using the manual method, just discard.
