[Q] How to Costumize Not.Bar - Legend Themes and Apps

hey guys?
please help me or give me a link!
how can i change and costumize my task/notification bar on my legend?
with this http://circle.glx.nl/ i cant do it. its only working with desire roms.
but i can change battery icon.
thx for ur help

Simply replace it in your framework-res.apk (use 7zip) it's located in the res/drawable-mdpi folder if I'm not mistaken.
If it's a .9.png file you won't be able to simply replace it. (there are tutorials on how to change them here on xda)

wow nice, thx for this!!
but i want to change transparency, add quick toggle buttons, add a text when i pull down the bar and so on.....
how can i do that? in the link above, theres a nice kitchen for that, but it only works on desire roms

i tried it, it works for legend too

It's working fine, only the notification part isn't support for our Legend.
The icons and animations are working.
With CM7 only the battery indication can be modified because the rest of the icons are in SystemUI.apk instead of framework-res.apk.

lol i know that.
but i want to change the notification area, no icons or other stuff

UOT kitchen works fine with blay0s 0.5-6 roms, sometimes error but just try again.
Made these with UOT http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=488475&d=1294917789 http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=488474&d=1294917789
when i have 0.5.

bit it doenst work for me
i want to type my own text in the pull-down bar...

Hello, i´ve got also an related question.
I want to change the color of the notification bar.
So i copied the new "statusbar_background.png" in the framework-res.apk. And then the .apk back via root explorer in /system/framework.
If i look in the .apk my customized statusbar is also there, but after rebooting the phone it hasn´t changed.. the old statusbar look is also there.
I´m on B0.7 with data2ext.
Thanks for replies, picz

[MetaMorph] Transparent Lockscreen (com.htc.resources.apk)

This is a Metamorph for a transparent lockscreen that was made by request for a friend. This is intended for a deodexed stock mytouch4G ROM (2.2/2.2.1). This will modify com.htc.resources.apk. Most likely this will crash your system when applied. If not, reboot to see changes. Ive been seeing an error when using metamorph to extract, it does not seem to find the theme file. All files extract and you will be able to apply by selecting "Pick existing theme".
*NOTE* This works when applied using the safari theme (thanks for the feedback). I'll look into modifying other themes... eventually. Requests will be considered.

Has anyone been able to get rid of the lockscreen wallpaper? To show the homescreen? I've tried old methods, but they don't seem to work in sense 2.2 stock or modded roms for the n1

Same here. Running Ice but can't get it to stick. Good idea tho. I like it.
EDIT: Sent .zip to sdcard. Let Metamorph unzip. Still FC's my messengers while applying then nothing.
If you remove the htclockscreen.apk and .odex from your /system you'll get a transparent lockscreen... Albiet with the stock froyo lock but I prefer it anyway

So after trying this, the text on the lock screen doesn't line up correctly. All 3 lines of text, the date, the time & T-mobile all overlap. Is this supposed to be used with any of the lock screen themes or a specific one? Anything else need to be changed to get it to align correctly?

So this is just a transparent slider for the lockscreen?
I'm assuming theres no way to make a fully or semi-transparent wallpaper?
I know most icons are png's, which support transparency, but I'm not sure (and highly doubt) if a transparent png file would retain transparency after being set to be the wallpaper? If I had to guess I would think the file is converted in some way before it is actually applied...
I wonder if there is a way to bypass this and allow for transparencies in the wallpaper?
Though this works, it doesn't look so good since its transparent and the text overlays whatever is on the first screen. It would be nice if the lockscreen background could be honored by the stock froyo lock. Or at the very least, a solid color or black background.

Transparent images won't set correctly, from what I've read about other sense ROMs, you'd have to hexedit the file, changing the color to transparent... don't know if it would even work. There are lockscreen replacements, like lock bot, possibly some others. Wish there where better options... the ROM in general lacks the basics for most things I want to do... which is why I currently run the desire HD port by gr8gorilla. The ROM has been ported to a lot of phones, so there is quite a bit of mods and themes available.
I'm curious what features. Are you referring to stock? Does the desire port have working drivers for everything? I thought FFC (camera) was a problem as well as video playback. Iced is what I'm currently using and its rock solid and can overclock.

The only thing I know is yo modify your SystemUI.apk with apk manager . I don't know the exact steps .
Sent from my Ultima Weapon using XDA App
Yup, you'll have to find and replace the image files. Contact Seilent or search for the tutorial in section "Android Themes"
OK thnx you guys. Gonna do some more searching.
You have to do this manually. Open your systemui.apk with winrar. Open drawable-mdpi and you will find your current pulldown menu buttons. Just replace these files with what you like and also make sure that file names match.
Hey SGAce, i perfectly didnt understand your question. Do you just want to change the icons pngs or do you want to change their functions itself? Changing icons png has been expained before by other users but if you want to change functions of these, its a tedious job with editing xmls and resources and etc. It is a lot better to wait for the nightlies of CM7 lol
THNX y'all,
i did it, i managed to change the button png's. Afterall it was a STUPID and unnesessary question, coz i did this with a few other apk's before
Sorry, this thread can be closed.
Cheers.
just use 7-zip

You need to decompile your systemui.apk.after that go to res/values/
edit styles.xml, search for TextAppearance.StatusBar.Clock and change the value of android:textColor to 808080 (which i think is grey, not sure).after making changes, save and compile your systemui.apk and there you go...

Maybe I have missed something here.
Every application I use to decompile an ICS apk file returns errors.
What application are you using to decompile and then recompile the apk files?
Any help would be appreciated.

Which file, plz?
Google is your friend:
http://mobilecon.info/transparant-status-bar-in-android.html
So using this dirty tutorial, make the .png files transparent yourself and place back in the apk then reflash or find the equivalent files in say the Miui framework-res.apk file, extract them, then add them to your stock framework-res.apk file using 7zip/winrar etc and flash/copy back.
Will take you 5 mins and teach you much about theming any aspect of your framework with out having to recompile applications.

Yes, tried it but doesn't work that way on Xperia. Seems that systemui has something to do with it.
Also tried the files from MIUI Rom, didn't work either.
Ah, crap.
I've heard of ways to do it on Gingerbread but not on ICS.
I've noticed using Miui and having a clear status bar but then using another launcher causes the status bar to go black.
Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 2
It's not just changing some pngs, there is smali edits and some value edits to drawables.xml. I made it for CM9, but I did not manage to edit incoming notification color, so it did not look so nice. (notification_header_bg in drawables.xml. I guess it needs a smali edit, but I did not find it..). And in stock Sony firmware the mod messes up the whole statusbar.
so until now there is no Transparant Status Bar for XS , right ?

the file you need to mod is status_bar_expanded.xml
<com.android.systemui.statusbar.phone.NotificationPanelView
you can set transparency by changing the android background color hex
I added a new background so the resource would define color by drawable rather than style... i did this for the reason it is easier for the average user to mod themselves.
Nice mod still getting the shuttering when opening the drawer no biggie.

the systemUI mods have a permission set for Prism.apk. I'm assuming that is a typo in your updater script and you meant to set the permissions for SystemUI since that's what is being flashed.

no worries what level of transparency are you looking for? - its more than likely in the values/drawables folder under something like status_bar_bg.. if not i thing on the sense based roms they are png files due to the open close of statusbar.. in the case of the second i would look in the drawables folder for something like status bar on or something... if you have any issues let me knw
