Hi all
If I want to be able to acces OrangeWorld and TV (wap portal and mobile TV from my provider) I must use a branded device or provide an authorized UserAgent. Yes it's like most of people...
Usualy I use NetFront but today I've decided to make it big and patching browser.dll to use pocketIE. After 3-4 hour googling I finally succeeded on extracting browser.dll off of the nk.nbf provided by Prophet ShadoW 1.0 (rom that I currently use). I've patched it with a hex edit program and tried to put it in the Windows directory.
I simply can't put anything who already exists in the windows folder. How can I do to use this patched version of the dll ?
If someone can help it would be nice

Dear friends,
I have searched tens of forums and googled requested for a days,
but I didn't have chance that find any answer
And it seems that nobody speak so much about that problem here,
people are in race for newer and newer firmwares,
is it possible that nobody can't find the way to solve that problem and succeed to modify wpa_supplicant to work on new Gingerbread 2.3.4?
I can't belive that I have 500€ phone witout possibility to use ad-hoc WiFi at my home
Download this file - http://www.mediafire.com/?ap3alfyf2asu1ca
Disable the wifi...Copy-paste the file in system/bin using root explorer... reboot the phone...done, your phone running KG1 can connect to ad-hoc networks
oops.. i just tried on KG1. Didn't connect to an adhoc network setup with WEP.
I even set the properties of the file like:-
owner: Root Group: shell along with proper file permissions.
Still no working.
Huh, god knows, maybe it depends of type of installed ROM.
Galaxy S2, Lightning ROM 2.2, rooted, exchanged downloaded wpa-supplicant with original without changing any owner properties using Root Explorer and Mount R/W and R/O option,
and - it works, after reboot, sure.
I heard that gingerbread 2.3.x does not support ad-hoc wifi but froyo 2.2.x supports it!!!!
There is a file in the sticky thread. wtf it works fine. Im using it on M250S - 2.3.4
delete the file first ,than paste the new file back ,reboot
guys, is there any conclusion from this thread? i'm getting desperate too

Working on stock KG3, Litening(all versions),Villain(all versions), others i didn't test...
I tested using Bzeek wifi hotspot creator on windows Vista, if you can't connect to WEP, try Bzeek, its open network but password is needed to use it
I have the LG Optimus 3D and I wanted to use my old WinMo phone as an ad-hoc server. I searched a lot and finally found the solution:
First of all you need a rooted device.
Go to Market and install "ZT-180 Adhoc Switcher". Run this program everytime you want to connect to ad-hoc.
The device acting as server needs to have its SSID to "AndroidTether" and require no password.
Don't forget to revert back to "infrastructure" mode after ending your session otherwise you won't be able to connect to normal hotspots.
There is no guarantee that this will work on all devices. Just try and see...
I've been searching to see if there is a way to use a clone of my phone as an android virtual device for eclipse, I've not found any answers..I'm beginning to think that it is not possible because I haven't found the "here's how to clone your phone as an AVD" thread anywhere..is this correct?
If that isn't possible, exactly how much if any modification can I make to the AVD to make it more like my phone (contacts, apps and settings etc), would I just find the AVD's files and replace them or are they packed in a zip/rar file or are they just resource files that are being called up that will change the behavior of every AVD that I create if I alter them?
Finally- what would you guys say the minimum system requirements for developing for ICS and compiling ROMs would be? Looking to get a new desktop, this 1.5ghz gateway notebook isn't going to cut it....
Thx!
(BTW..I've already started making apps..nothing useful but they worked, and I got them on my phone and functional...hopefully be able to contribute back to the community soon yay! )
Hi all, I am trying to build android from source (Cyanogenmod) for my phone Sony Xpreia Pro (iyokan). I am following the instructions at wiki{DOT}cyanogenmod{DOT}org/w/Build_for_iyokan (I haven't posted a lot so I can't post URLs ). During my build I need to do one additional step. I need to pull the proprietary files from my device. This is where the problem comes in.
I found that there are 4 files which the extract-files.sh script cannot extract. This causes problem in the build process and the build process stops without completion. The files which the script cannot find are:
/system/bin/calibrator
/system/etc/firmware/wl1271-fw-multirole-roc.bin
/system/lib/libc2d2_z180.so
/system/lib/egl/libGLESv2S3D_adreno200.so
I found wl1271-fw-multirole-roc.bin at "/system/etc/firmware/ti-connectivity/" instead of "/system/etc/firmware/". Is it fine to modify the "proprietary-files.txt" to have this path instead of the "/system/etc/firmware/"? I am not sure if the functionality of both the files is same.
Also I found a file called "wlan_calibrator" instead of "calibrator" in the same location. I also found a file called libGLESv2_adreno200.so instead of libGLESv2S3D_adreno200.so
Would it be fine if I change the name in "proprietary-files.txt"? Again, I am not sure if the functionality of the other files is same. I couldn't find the file called "libc2d2_z180.so"
I really don't know what to do and would really appreciate if anyone could help me on what I should be doing.
Hi.. I have been trying to fix a tv stick for a few months now (basically is more about the knowledge i am getting - I am not desperate in fixing it). It is a strange piece, probably clone that i have been tricked in buying. It has an Allwinner A20 dual core cpu with an AP6210 wifi module...
Tried to flash another firmware ti improve it, ended up with the wifi problem. Wifi (and bleutooth) will not start. When i press the button, it just slides back to off... I have read and tried anything i could find on the internet. I have also tried tens of firmwares, but the wifi problem persisted (the original firmware is nowhere to be found).. To cut the story short, the device will not connect to a computer through ADB (it just doesn't seem to support this function - is not a matter of drivers). So everything i have been trying did not include this option...Also the recovery can not be changed to support backup and restore from custom recoveries (i.e CWM, or TWRP)..
What i did manage was to extract a backup from the rom, of another identical device, with the Nandroid App (online version, not through the recovery). Then i used the Dragonface program to edit another similar firmware (MK808C). While loaded, i open the FSOP folder which is the folder that dragonface collapses the loaded firmware for editing and then, i replaced the existing system folder with the one i had backed up trough the Nandroid procedure... Then hit the save button of the Dragonface...
I flashed the new *.img to my tv stick with the phoenix tool, and the tv stick booted normally, looking EXACTLY the same as when i first bought it. I even managed to get the bleutooth going this time, BUT, the bloody wifi still refuses to come on :-/
I must tell you, I know my way through some computer technical stuff but I am not an expert into the coding level and i haven't had the experience of Linux systems (thus i don't really understand coding). I really thought all settings and drivers are included in the system file and copying the original system file into another firmware, would do the trick.. but i guess is not that simple... The thing is that, the way i see it, the problem is probably hidden at the booting level... hitting the system configuration in the advance settings of the Dragon face, will open some coding thing which i don't understand.. but i do see the AP6210 module in that coding, which means that the new firmware includes those drivers..If anybody have any idea or can point me to the right direction I would really appreciate it.. Thanks
I have the same problem with AP6210 on H3 Allwinner STB box. After firmware ugrade from Android 4.4.2 to Android 10 Wifi just don't work, button slides back to off. Drivers are present. Have both firware files unpacked.
Please help! What i have to do? Sys_config? Init.rc?
