Since day one, my vibrant has smelled faintly of pina colada or coconut or something. Anyone else notice this?

As soon as I saw this thread title, I had to check; sure enough, right along the top edge, it smells of raw coconut.
What's even odder about that is that I'm the second owner.

mine smells like....... nothing...
wtf is wrong with all your phones... lol

Pina Vibrant?
That's wild mine does too. Wonder if it tastes like pina colada too ummmm nope

Really weird, it does. You gotta whiff it though, the true bizarre question is how do people figure this out? Haha.

Sounds like yours is due for a warranty exchange.

haha yea, I noticed this when I first got the phone and have to do a few battery pull, then I notice a smell(it smell good btw)
try to take out the battery cover and take a whiff at it

I'm sure its something protective because a lot of heat is transfered to the top of the phone if you remove the back of the case its actually a stronger smell the closer you get to the speaker

2 of my virabts and my brother vibrannts had the same smell at first I though my chip wad getting burnt rofl..

Theoretically it is possible, pickle juice is relatively acidic, dont know how much battery power pickle juice would add.
WHOA, THIS GUY WASN'T LYING LOL.
I took off my back cover while it was charging to smell it, and I could smell a faint pickle juice smell. ?
Yo Samsung, is this why our batteries are crap? PICKLE JUICE? >.>

am I the only one who finds these videos pointless and stupid? amusing to watch sometimes but pointless, nonetheless. Here's a shock, glass breaks when dropped.
>:3 SGS II is pretty durable and in reference to a fall test the plastic actually absorbs impact. Meaning Iphone's glass which is brittle/not flexible takes the full on impact. Meanwhile the SGS II just sorta bounces since it is far lighter/bendy if you will.
I have a wife with a cracked iPhone 4S screen, and I have a beautiful GS2.
Whether or not this is defect with my wife or phone is still up for debate.

Before her iPhone 4S she had a Captivate.
I never heard the end of her constant complaints about the device, so I wouldn't let her buy a GS2. I just don't have the patience.

The SGS II has Corning Gorilla Glass that is very impact resistant. The screen is not plastic. I'm not sure what type of glass the iPhone has but its obviously not impact resistant...

Lil ol SG2 is so thin and light it feels like a delicate toy. Light is a great attribute to have when it comes to being dropped . An ant is small, light, and delicate, but you can drop the joker off a second story window onto concrete and it will still walk away. being heavy and made of glass however, is not so great for dropping lol.

non-sense that light is 100% useful for me, when it's green I know it's charged. Regardless of powering it on to see if it's between 95-100%.
shame on you for seeing it as worthless.
i don't think it's useless but i think it's impractical in the postion it's in, i think it should be on the front of the device so i can see it without having to pick it up and moving it also it could be used for email notifications.
I for one appreciate the FYI. I got my prime a week ago and had no idea this light was here! I agree its awkward placement, but its still a nice touch.

Dude buy a tranny from a wrecker for like 1/4 that price. Usually you get a year or 10k warranty with them. I've had friends do this and 3 years later they are still running strong.
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
Considering they've already taken the time to take my tranny out, disassemble it, and diagnose it, I'll give them the business. I am very aware that I could get a cheaper and possibly better deal elsewhere, they've already put a bunch of time into it and they should be rewarded. That's just my belief and of course, YMMV.
That what you get for an auto tranny

I would stick my hand in that toilet so fast....
I dropped my old Palm Centro into a cup of water, it fully submerged, and as I pushed my hand in the screen started flashing and then shut off. I took it out, yanked the battery as fast I could(if you had a centro you know how hard it was to pull the battery cover) and then let it dry for a day. The next day I stuck the battery back in and it powerd up nice and worked fine. The only problem was there was a water spot under the screen that dried and it looked like a little smudge spot

Funny Story

So I was standing in line to pay for my bottle of water when the cashiere looks down at my waste and says "Oh My God, that thing is so big, I'd have to use both hands to handle that"
I just stared at her along with the guy behind me trying to figure out what the hell was going on here. Then she turned instantly red, pointed and said "OH NO NO YOUR PHONE I MEANT YOUR PHONE, not that I swear!"
Me and the other guy got a good laugh and she couldnt even look at me, handed me my receipt and stood there red as hell. Thought I'd share a good laugh.
