Hi, welcome to XDA! I don't really have a definitive answer for you, but I just wanted to say that I think I've seen this question asked before but I don't remember ever seeing a positive answer. I would guess that it would probably be possible, but only with one or both a go-between Android app and desktop program for transferring the phone's GPS data to the computer in a familiar format.

So ya I want to know what is the best 2.1 ROM for htc hero out there right now??
That's like asking what the best car is...
You need to test drive them yourself to figure that out

Agreed! Just test a few and see for yourself
Love to. Which one works with a CDMA based Sprint HTC Hero?

Maybe you could see in the Hero CDMA forum?!? Here!!!!! Doesn't hurt to do a little search, you know
It also doesn't hurt to provide a little direction to somebody without being snide about it! Normally I search myself - but you never know exactly how busy the asking the question is. If I told you all I've been doing just this weekend your head would explode.
Thanks for the pointer. Next time try doing it a bit more kindly.
Usually I'm not that difficult when people ask questions. But when it seems like they haven't tried to search for minimum five minutes, I can be a bit rude. Especially about questions like yours, where the answer is so obvious.
Indeed and I'm the same way so really, I do understand. But what you don't understand or haven't acknowledged, is that while I usually search for answers I've been totally swamped with my new multimedia laptop between working in Windows 7 and trying to get Ubuntu 9.10 to do what Windows 7 just seems to do seemlessly (fingerprint scanner - Windows? Check? Ubuntu, no driver. Bluetooth? Windows - just works; Ubuntu no go (go after reboot), Windows Media Center hook up to HDTV? Piece of cake. Ubuntu - can't display on both at the same time. Plus on Ubuntu the sound is not sent out the HDMI cable. Sound on Ubuntu? Mono! Windows? 5.1. Windows responds seemlessly to IR remote - Ubuntu? Doesn't know it's there!!!). The thought of reburning my phone right now is a bit too much for this weekend. Plus I've found a few threads where there's mention of 2.1 for Hero and I queried "Does that work on CDMA" only to hear silence. If I dropped the other 20 things I'm doing right now and concentrated on this then I'm sure you'd find I'd be up to your standards.
This all could be labeled "Hey dude - cut me some slack will ya?".
Back to the laptop, mediaserver issues...
It's okay. Good luck with your setting-up-ubuntu-project! I've been there myself!
I have a TP on the way. I travel regularly for work and not always accommodated in places that have tvs (tv signals yes, actual tvs no), and was wondering if anyone has successfully got a usb DVB-T tuner to work on the Prime? (i will most likly be rooting it within a few days of receiving it, so that does not worry me ) I have had a look on these forums and have found no definitive answer.
Any help much appreciated, and i am willing to help any way i can
Bump. Does anyone know if it has been done?
That would be soooo nice! ;-))
i also will be happy to have it
I've done quite a bit of searching but haven't come across any clear solution so i figured i ask the experts here, hoping someone has an answer.
I'm looking to try to do something like this.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YcggnNVTNwI with either a tablet, or just a touch screen monitor. Is this possible for us androids? I'm currently on a HTC sensation rooted. I'm about due for an upgrade soon also. Thanks!
anybody???
Ive just ordered a smart dock for my S3 so that I can use it with my TV, wireless air mouse, hard drive and wireless xbox controller.
Now the final thing I want to do is run XBMC for PVR software, but cannot find a definitive answer about a tuner that will work with my S3.
Im a new user so I cant link to the one I have but its ebay item number 200828623654. Its made for an android powered smart box but will it work with the s3 aswell.
Or does anyone know of any that will work.
Cheers
Rich
Have I done something wrong in my post or is it just that nobody knows the answer?
All I can find through loads of google searches are a couple of expensive tuners that only work with their own inbuilt mini aerials and others that will connect to an outdoor aerial via a coax cable but they are made for specific android smart tv boxes.
Thanks in advance for any help that anyone can provide.

Reasons .
Might be better in Accessories .
This is not a f*** fix my phone forum its a developers forum .
As its rather a restricted topic you may need to wait until someone with an answer appears .

Im happy if a mod thinks its appropriate to be moved to accessories.
I am aware it is a developers forum and I was at no point demanding anyone "f***g fix my phone". The use of TV tuners with the Galaxy S3 would be a development of the phone as it is not something that it was initially designed to do and would allow people to make better use of their devices.
I was just making sure that I had not done anything wrong in the way I had posted my question and to make it clear that I had searched around for an answer already for a couple of days myself as I know people get annoyed when noobs post questions without bothering to look for themselves.
Thanks
Rich
Maybe you guys can help me out here; my research is pulling up nothing.
As the title states, I'm looking for an Android to Android VPN? I've always been able to check on my kids computer activity when needed with PhoneMyPC (and mitigate a few bad situations), but with tablets being used there's no way to see what they do. Overly cautious parent comments and anti-spy hate aside, this is something I feel is extremely beneficial.
Anyone know of one that's good? Is there one out there that's useable? Gurus, is it even possible?
I greatly appreciate any help on this topic.
